Chapter 5  Variant 

“Xiao Bai, what other magic can you do?” Xie Ao Yu asked.

Xiao Bai used its little paws to scratch its head. This action was copied almost exactly like how Xie Ao Yu would do it. Its eyes wandering around aimlessly.

After a bit, Xiao Bai seemed to have thought of something.

Filled with anticipation, Xie Ao Yu saw Xiao Bai point its paw at a rock.

*Whiz*

An ice arrow flew out and shattered the rock.

“It is water magic’s advanced form, Ice magic!” Xie Ao Yu exclaimed.

In the paw of Xiao Bei, there was a flash of lightning.

“Lightning magic!”

Xiao Bai’s paws clapped the ground and issued forth an Earth Spike.

“Earth magic!”

Pointing its hand high, a ball of light flew out.

“Light magic!

Clawing an area, a stream of black flame emerged.

“Dark magic!”

Xie Ao Yu called out each magic system as they appeared. His eyes were wide-opened. Who knew that this little guy could use magic from each of the seven major elements.

Beast knowing magic also have various differences and levels.

A majority of beasts have only mastered one element; it is very rare to find a beast who has mastered two elements and seeing one which has mastered 3 is even rarer. A beast capable of 4 elements would cause a sensation. While those capable of 5 elements are only seen in ancient books of magic and there has never been a record of seeing any capable of 6 elements. Yet Xiao Bai is capable of 7!

“Is there more?” Xie Ao Yu asked.

Xiao Bai shook its head.

“Ah, then could you show me your magic at full-power?” Xie Ao Yu said. Since it’s a variant beast, then it should have a certain level of attack power.

*Yiya!* Xiao Bai raised its head, appearing very powerful, it pointed its paw to a large tree.

*Bang Bang Bang…*

A stream of lightning flew out from its paws.

Xie Ao Yu was wide-eyed, heart full of anticipation. If Xiao Bai could easily destroy this tree with lightning magic, then it most certainly isn’t a basic Elementary level beast.

The lightning attack that hit the tree… was a single bolt… about as thick as a thumb.

This bolt nimbly struck the tree.

Leaving only larger chunks of the tree intact.

The originally enthusiastic Xie Ao Yu almost choked on his own saliva. He looked at Xiao Bai and gave a thumbs up and sincerely said, “Amazing, truly amazing!”

Xiao Bai then smirked.

This made Xie Ao Yu laugh. Xiao Bai is truly a variant. Not only is it a variant able to use 7 different elements, but also in terms of power, there isn’t even a need to mention it. No wonder this little guy just came and visited to free-load food to eat.

“Alright, now the food.” Xie Ao Yu focused on the fire rabbit.

Sitting to the side observing Xie Ao Yu’s actions, Xiao Bai’s mouth was watering.

From the *Zizi* of the dripping fats, to the mouth-watering smell, neither man nor beast could help but swallow saliva (in anticipation). So when they finally ate, they ate it clean to the bones.

Patting his tummy, Xie Ao Yu said “Alright… you should be full, I should head back home now.”

Xiao Bai clawed at Xie Ao Yu’s trousers, looking quite pitiful.

That pitiful appearance broke Xie Ao Yu’s heart. He smiled briefly and shook his head, pulling Xiao Bai up hug and then setting it on his shoulder and said, “Alright, from now on, follow me and I will feed you lots of good food everyday.”

*Yiya… Yiya…* Xiao Bai stood on Xie Ao Yu’s shoulder with an unsatisfied expression. As if the only thing I could do was eat food?

Xie Ao Yu started patting Xiao Bai on his head.

Xiao Bai was not taller than 10-20 cm, his entire body was snow-white. When all bunched up, he looks like a tiny little furball. It was incredibly adorable and like other White Spirit beasts, he had the ability to capture the hearts of little boys and girls.

After arduous training for more than 10 days, Xie Ao Yu wanted to tell his comatose father that he suddenly was able to produce Qi.

On the way home from Mt. Hou, Xie Ao Yu came face to face with Xie Zhe and Xie Gang.

“*Ai Yao* If it isn’t our Xie family’s super genius. We haven’t seen you in 10 days and I was really missing you.” Xie Zhe said as smirk appeared on his face. “Isn’t this a white spirit beast? Haha. Our Xie’s super genius is really talented, he can even find this kind of trash, white spirit beast to play with as a pet.

Xie Ao Yu glanced at him and thought, just wait until I get results from cultivating, both you idiots will get a taste of my strength. Too bad, I just started cultivating Qi, it’s not yet strong enough.

So he dodged them and moved past the two.

These two had no idea they would be hit by a surprise attack, much less one so weak.

Without being able to put up any guard, their pants were set aflame.

“Crap! fire! I’m on fire!” Xie Zhe called out.

The two screamed as they put out the fire.

Of course, Xiao Bai’s spells were really weak and the fire was quickly extinguished. But the pants of the two had several holes from the fire which exposed their butts.

“Damn it! Who dares!? “Xie Zhe howled.

“Which son-of-a-bitch dares?” Xie Gang covering the holes in his pants yelled.

The vicious look of the two swept past Xie Ao Yu, not stopping at him at all… after all, magic is the ability of beasts, and his White Spirit beast can’t cast magic. As a result, they did not think at all that it would be Xiao Bai’s magic.

Serves them right!

Xie Ao Yu snickered and carried Xiao Bai back to the Xie home.

Upon entering the room, He had all those attending his father, Xie Qian, leave the room. He then kneeled by his father, took his hand and said in a trembling voice, “Father. I have battle qi. Father, can you hear me? I, now, have qi. I have qi!”

Xie Qian, like before, was just laying there.

“Father! I now have battle qi! I will definitely train hard. I want to be the Continental Youth Tournament champion. I will use the Water of the Holy Spirit to cure you.” Xie Ao Yu forcefully promised.

Sitting in the corner Xiao Bai’s face had a hint of helplessness.

It appeared like he understood what was happening.

This gesture lasted only a moment, so that Xie Ao Yu could not see it.

After the long conversation with his comatose father, Xie Ao Yu stood up and walked over to the wall on the left side of the room. He then pulled out three bricks from the wall and grabbed a scroll kept hidden within.

This scroll was obtained by his father 10 years earlier for Xie Ao Yu to use… it is a fighting technique called Dragon Overlord Boxing.

Xie Qian narrowly escaped from death in order to obtain this technique. He had intended to give it to Xie Ao Yu for his qi cultivation and brought it back, but unfortunately, Xie Ao Yu couldn’t generate qi. So they put the scroll in the wall for safekeeping, and it sat there for 10 whole years.
