Beauty Is Pain

It is blisteringly hot and yet I'm in Lillian's Hell lessons. Mind you I'm not alone. To my right is Melissa looking confused as to why she's here and to my left is angel Tom, who is the host of this event.

"Do you guys need anything?"

"Drinks?

"Snacks? I made cookies."

Catherine and Sarah peek their heads into the room while holding trays with cookies, popcorn and soft drinks.

What a weird combination, but you could feel the warmth from Tom's Moms.

"I'll take that," Tom says smiling. "Thanks. Anthony was just zoning out and probably needs a break."

"It's only been twenty minutes," Yomi-sensei(1) huffed. "Never mind, Melissa isn't focused either. Are you alright?"

Melissa seemed to snap out of a trance at that moment and only replied with an "En"(2).

No one said anything else and just grabbed their respected drinks and some snacks.

Lilian could only remember that one moment while looking at the absentminded Melissa. It was several weeks before break ended and the class decided to test their ninja skills.

Truly, only Lily could demonstrate the essence of a ninja.

She walked with confidence down the crowded street avoiding all the people rushing to who knows where. It hasn't been that long since she parted from a perfectly sculptured, beautiful man who happens to be an idiot. A cute idiot is always nice to have around.

Even so, she's entering a hospital.

Did she think she was sick after meeting him? It can't be helped since she's in denial of how much she wants to touch that s.e.xy b.u.t.t.

I wonder why she's buying a stuffed bear at the gift shop, I thought.

I follow her in and stare at the ch.i.p.s as if I couldn't choose one. As she was leaving I bought a pack of gum out of courtesy.

Maybe I should have followed that s.e.xy b.u.t.t all the way home instead of the know it all rude girl. I once froze time so I could enter his room and sniff his clothes only to find him hiding under multiple blankets surrounded by body pillows of his beloved Miku-tan and Mio-san(3). I took pictures for later use. Blackmailing him into a date also sounded nice.

I got sidetracked. Where did Melissa go?

Ah I found her as she entered a patient's room in the intensive care unit. On the sign plaque, her last name was displayed.
