80 – Preparation (2)

The script for the play I conceived this time.

A total of 7 people will stand on the stage.

This is the best possible adjustment of the cast considering the number of people in the theater and film department.

Anyway, in a play that lasts about an hour, there is no advantage in having a large number of people on stage.

The lines of movement are also twisted, and it becomes difficult for viewers who watch the play to understand the characteristics and relationships of the characters.

Simply put, it means that the more people there are, the more dizzy the people who go on stage and the people who watch it.

Of course, it has its own advantages.

The amount of lines and appearance time should be reduced to that extent, so the burden on the actors should be reduced.

…… But that’s it.

That is completely irrelevant from my point of view as the script writer.

This is my very personal opinion, but I think that a producer in charge of a work should do whatever it takes to make it better.

I’m willing even if it means overusing the actors.

To be honest, there is no such thing as too much abuse.

What…….

Those who appear in this work, in a way, will play the most important three main characters, but the story will be a little different.

As they are the ones who lead the overall play, it is only natural that they appear and have more lines than other characters. And this time, you also need to know how to skillfully handle the emotional line that crosses the extreme.

If this doesn’t work…….

‘I can’t say with confidence that I’ve made a work that’s at least satisfactory.’

The problem is that if I want to draw the picture I want, it is difficult to realize it with student-level acting skills.

Then a contradiction arises here.

Is the script you made to perform in a high school level competition difficult at the student level? In a way, this can be seen as a design mistake.

However, I do not think that the theater and film department is a simple student-level club.

Aren’t there veterans out of the student level?

Veteran.

The words high school students running towards their dreams and veterans are quite far apart, but there are as many as three people in our club that go well with it.

In the first place, the script was designed with the intention of giving the three veterans the lead role, so…….

“… ….”

The theater and film department members read the script I wrote for the first time.

From noble mtl dot com

It seemed like everyone was immersed in reading, but for a while, the room was quiet.

I wonder if 10 minutes passed like that…….

“…… Eunwoo Seo. Is this really what you wrote?”

Breaking the silence, Garam Song, the conductor, looked at me with suspicious eyes and asked.

I saw with my own two eyes what I wrote down stitch by stitch in the poor room.

I didn’t have anything to say, so I answered with a friendly smile.

Be as shameless as possible.

“How are you? Fun?”

“Huh… ….”

Song Garam laughed as if my shameless reaction was absurd.

Do you dare to ask that when you know everything?

It was roughly like this.

For reference, the other members also had similar reactions to Song Garam.

He stared at me with an expression of disbelief and before he knew it, he was smiling lightly.

Now everyone must have realized it.

If you prepare well for a month based on this script, a very interesting stage will be born.

“No… I knew you were pretty good, but today I feel a sense of separation more.”

Moo-shik Cha, who finished reading the script in the same seat next to me, looked at me with a tired face.

“What do you mean by gold spoon? For the rest of the period, practice your acting well.”

“…… ?”

Moo-sik Cha tilts his head with a question mark on his face.

“That…… Mr. Seo Eun-woo? Did you just hear me wrong?”

“No, I think I heard you right? Anyway, since you intend to go on stage, let’s stop talking about this.”

“Hey, hey! I have to go on. Stop what! I’m a newbie who doesn’t even know how to act!!!”

“Hmm? I’m new to it, so there are better roles.”

“Seo, are you talking about the role of ‘Ha Yeong-do’?”

“As expected, it is not for nothing that people of the same kind recognize each other at once. That’s right, it’s a role that was openly based on you, so I think I’ll just have to act like you normally do.”

“Isn’t that easier said than done, you crazy fellow…….”

As soon as I said that, Moo-sik Cha, who suddenly gained experience in acting, shed tears of emotion (?).

For reference, the ‘Ha Yeong-do’ that Moo-sik Cha mentioned is a supporting role that helps the drama not be heavily biased.

So there is no need to be very good at acting.

On the contrary, the more awkward it is, the more the taste of the character comes alive and may make the viewer smile.

I wonder if this role is just right for him…… I did have some concerns.

Isn’t that guy getting sick with wheezing thinking he’s good at acting after the play ends with a successful result?

If you do that in front of me, I think you’ll be seriously beaten.

“Then am I the role of ‘Kang Taeyang’?”

At that time, Park Ha-jun approached me and asked me.

Taeyang Kang.

As one of the three main characters in this play, he actually takes up the most of the male roles.

There are so many things to think about while acting, and there are a lot of interactions with the supporting actors, so you have to lead them in front.

“Maybe there will be no disagreement with the senior taking on the role. Anyway, since you didn’t say anything about the script, it seems fortunate that I passed the passing grade.”

“It’s a passing grade…… That’s a pretty humble expression.”

Hajun Park looked at me and smiled meaningfully and continued.

“By the way, I was going to save my words. Originally, actors have to repay them with their acting skills.”

“… ….”

Something like a line from a drama.

It’s true that it makes people cringe no matter who hears it, but since popular actor Park Ha-joon speaks directly, it feels different.

Anyway, the male part was decided faster than expected in this way.

Then the only thing left is the female role.

Three female members must go up on the stage of this play.

Unfortunately, however, the theater and film departments do not have as many female members as expected.

Seol So-yeong, Da-hye Lee, Ga-ram Song, and Han Yeo-jin, a sophomore who joined at the end of the song’s suggestion.

There are 4 people in total.

Here, Han Yeo-jin seems to have been talked about in advance to be in charge of the sound, just as I was in charge of the script.

In other words, inevitably, all the remaining female members had to go on stage.

“I don’t really care. Originally, if there was a role left, it was the one I wanted to do.”

As expected from the entertainment department majoring in acting, Song Ga-ram was positive. Even among the sophomores, Park Ha-joon has the second best grades, so you can look forward to it.

And the other two…….

I carefully looked at Seol So-yeong and Lee Da-hye.

These two were still immersed in reading the script I had written despite the noise in the room.

I didn’t think I should break that immersion, so the other members, including me, couldn’t speak to them hastily.

“After… ….”

Before long, Lee Da-hye let out a deep sigh and suddenly she looked at me intently. Then she immediately opened her mouth.

“I want to play the role of ‘Kim Miso’.”

“…… The reason is?”

“Do you feel like you can do well?”

“That is a very reliable answer.”

Listening to Lee Da-hye’s baseless answer, I naturally smiled bitterly.

Kim Miso… ….

Anyone who has read my script at least once will know who the main character in this play is.

This is the character ‘Gimmiso’ mentioned by Lee Da-hye.

Actually, she was a little surprised to hear Lee Da-hye so aggressively appealed that she wanted to play the role of Gimmiso.

It was because I also had a wish for her to play Kim Mi-so in her hidden feelings.

Of course, Seol So-young is much better at acting.

This is an undeniable fact, and maybe it would be a better picture for her to play the lead role.

But…….

If Lee Da-hye takes on the role of ‘Gimmiso’, she has her own strengths.

When she stands on stage, she naturally displays her unique bright energy. I think it’s a great talent.

Especially as the brightness grows on stage…….

‘When she disappears from her stage, her vacancy will be felt even more.’

However, ironically, this also applies to Seol So-young.

Because Seol So-young’s presence when acting is truly amazing.

It will make the audience feel empty in a slightly different way than Lee Da-hye.

That’s why I looked at Seol So-yeong quietly.

Because I was a little curious about what she was thinking right now.

Seol So-yeong also looked in my direction, perhaps noticing my gaze, and that’s how we naturally met eyes.

I was the one who spoke first.

At this rate, I had a strong feeling that we would just have a snowball fight all day long.

“…… What do you think about it?”

“Dahye taking on the role of Kim Miso?”

“Right.”

When Lee Da-hye takes on the role of Kim Mi-so, Seol So-young naturally takes on the role of ‘Moon Yeon-woo’.

Although Kang Taeyang, Kim Mi-so, and Moon Yeon-woo were grouped together as the main three for convenience, in fact, Moon Yeon-woo has a slightly smaller proportion than the other two.

In that sense, I couldn’t imagine the picture of Seol So-yeong playing the role of ‘Moon Yeon-woo’.

Soyoung Seol has always appeared as the main character in my works.

He memorized and spoke the largest amount of lines as if it were natural, and he appeared on the screen for the longest time.

As much as Seol So-yeong’s position as the main character was natural, it was clear that she would have some degree of greed for the role of Kim Mi-so.

As if realizing this, Lee Da-hye was also waiting for Seol So-young’s answer with a slightly uneasy look in her eyes.

But…….

“I think I’d better do that too. Personally, I was a little interested in the role of Moon Yeon-woo.”

Contrary to our expectations, Seol So-young’s unexpected answer came out of her mouth.
