Because He Is Her 'First Love'....

Chapter 61 - "You Are Mean!"

"Unfortunately, two days ago, one of our football team members got really badly injured.

And we have our inter-school football competition in three weeks, first thing after the summer vacations. So I've decided to take a trial for new team members. Whoever is interested, can come to the ground, on the last period.

Is that clear to everyone?" On the coach's rough voice, all the boys said, "Yes sir."

Jun who was standing in the very back seemed totally uninterested. Playing with a small stone with his legs, he was listening to whatever was coming on his ears.

"Hey Jun." Ray, who was standing in the very front, came back, towards him.

Jun looked at him.

"Are you gonna do the trial?" Ray asked.

Jun nodded his head sideways.

"Why? It would be really fun, if you got selected, we two will be in the same team!" Ray looked excited.

"I know….But I'm not that interested in the sports, you know…"

"Hmm…Yeah…." Ray nodded understandingly, but his face seemed a bit sad.

"Okay boys. Back to the ground. We have not got much time left." As the coach called for his football team,

"I'll go now, see you in the class…." Ray said and ran towards the ground with his team mates.

"Others back to your classes." The coach commanded to other students.

Mia and Jun were walking on the footpath, side by side. Mia was holding her bicycle to her right.

"…So when Hana got up from her seat that quickly, she spilled her whole lunch box on the ground…Poor girl…" Mia was telling Jun, about what happened that day. It was their everyday thing. On their way to home, Mia would always talk about what happened with her or her friends on that day.

And Jun would listen to everything she said.

"She seems a light head…" Jun said.

"Hey, don't talk about her like that. She just forgot that - "

"- That her lunch box was right on her lap!" Jun said with a smirk.

"Hmph."

Jun smiled to himself as he saw Mia's face.

"By the way…" He talked first as he knew, she was not gonna do that. "Why do you bring your bicycle, if you are not gonna ride it?"

Mia looked at her cycle.

"I told you that I'm okay on my own. You can go ahead." Jun said again.

Mia didn't answer anything to him and sat on her bicycle.

'She got convinced pretty fast…' Jun thought. 'Or is she just mad at me?…'

Keeping a foot on the paddle she turned her head back, glaring at him.

"YOU ARE MEAN!!!" She said.

'And YES! She IS mad at me!' Jun was thinking to himself.

"I am going and leaving you behind, alone! It's better to go than listening to your mean comments about me and my friends. Hmph!" And with that, she looked in front and started paddling away.

Looking at her going away, Jun put his palm on his face.

"This girl….Hehe…." He laughed to himself.

While Mia who was on her cycle, paddling away from him,

'That pays for him…I did the right thing…Umm…Right!....' She was pretty angry.

She turned her head back to look at him; he was walking quietly with his head down.

'Huh?....Is - Is he sad?…' Mia looked worried when she saw him walking like that. 'Did I hurt him?....Did that make him sad?'

She came at the square, 'I shouldn't have said that. I guess it hurt him….. I think I should go back….I should go back to him and apologize…' Mia felt really bad. "Hm! That's what I'll do."

As she decided, she got down from her cycle. But when she turned her head back,

'Huh!!? Where did he go?'

Jun was not there. She looked here and there, but she couldn't see him.

'Where did he go? Did he get lost?' Mia started panicking.

"Oh God!" She quickly turned her cycle and started paddling where she saw Jun just a minute ago.

When she reached there, she still couldn't see him anywhere.

"Jun?" She called his name. "JUN!!"

Everyone who was passing her was looking at her worried.

"JUNAAA!!!" She shouted again.

"Mia?" Hearing that voice, Mia quickly looked in the direction.

And there was Jun, standing in the door of a store, with a bag in his hand.

"Jun!" Mia exclaimed.

"Wh…Why are you shouting my name like that?" He really looked confused.

"I'm sorry." She said as she came towards him.

"Huh?"

"I shouldn't have left you behind…I thought you got lost?"

"What?" Jun kept looking her worried expressions. "Pffftttt. Hahahaha…." He started laughing really hard.

"Wh..what?" She said pouting.

"You thought I got lost? What am I? A small kid or something?"

"No…I mean you were walking, like a second ago and when I looked back again, you were not there….So I thought…."

"I just went to get some grocery. In the grocery shop!" He said pointing at the shop behind him, with his thumb.

Mia looked at the shop and then at the bag in his hand.

"G-Grocery?"

"Yeah! And besides, it's been almost 3 months. Three months!

How would I get lost? I know every road now." Jun said.

"Yeah….Um….that's right though….." She said. 'Why did I think like that? I am such a dumb!' She thought to herself.

Jun came towards her, putting his hand on her head he said, "You are really dumb sometimes!"

And then shaking his hand, he messed up her hair.

'Why did I panic so much? That was so stupid....' Mia was thinking.

Walking pass by her, he went towards the bicycle and put the bag in the basket of it.

"Are you gonna stand there forever? Let's go home now." Jun said.

Mia turned back and walked towards him.

"Sit. I'll give you a ride today." He said as he sat on the seat and pointed towards the back carriage with his eyes.

"What?" Mia widened her eyes. "Really? I mean, when I told you to do so, you never agreed to me. You said I'm too heavy."

Jun smiled. "Yes!! That's true though! But it's okay for today."

"Are you sure?"

His smiley face changed into cold expression, "Sit before I change my mind!"

As soon as Jun said that, Mia was sitting on the back carriage the next instant.

Looking in the front, Jun couldn't help but smile.

.

Sitting in the back, holding to the seat of the cycle, Mia was enjoying the air.

'Summer has come already….' She thought.

As if remembering something, "Hey, Junaa…" She called.

He looked back once and again looked in the front but didn't say anything.

"Are you going to do that?"

"What?" He asked keeping his eyes ahead, on the road.

"That…Football team selection….Umm….That trials!"

"Nope!" He answered right away.

"Ha? Why?"

"What do you mean why? You know that I am not that interested in the sports."

"Yeah. I know! But Ray is also in the team."

"So?"

"And he is your friend."

"So what? Why is this related to that?"

"I mean, you two would be in the same team. Wouldn't that be great?"

"But I'm not interested."

"But you can play football."

"Not that good."

"But what's wrong? I am just telling you to give it try. I am not telling you to go and play the tournament. Just the trial - "

"No!"

Hearing his firm 'No' Mia looked at him angrily, "Fine!!! Do whatever you want to do! You never listen to me!"

Jun turned his head back and looked at her confused, "Why are you being mad at me?"

Mia didn't answer and kept looking in the distance. Jun looked forward and sighed.
