Being A Superhero

The vault was now open and the thieves were now madly putting all the money and gold inside the bags. These greedy jerks are planning to suck this place dry! They'd be rich with just a few bags, but looking at the bags that were now filled, they were willing to rob everything!

"Hey! The two of you! Start loading them at them at the truck! The driver is probably ready to take them out!" One of the robbers said. He must be the boss. This guy looked very imposing.

And didn't he mention that there was a van waiting outside? Meaning there was another guy that I didn't know about.

"But boss… I don't trust that guy. He seems shady…" One of the robbers said. My hunch is confirmed. This guy made sure of that.

"Shut up and take the bags outside before I shoot you! The cops are probably on their way here! Well… a few of them at least. HAHAHA!" The boss said.

"That's right! They don't know what's coming! Before they get here, they'll go boom!" One of the thieves said.

"You're so smart boss! You even thought about putting a bomb on the streets. Those bombs will only be triggered when police sirens are near it. This way, the authorities will be too busy in dealing with it that they would be too late in coming here!" Another thief said.

The boss chuckled and said, "HAH! Those idiots won't even make it here. And don't worry about the driver outside. I know he's one of those cops. I didn't tell him about the bombs."

Crap! These guys are simply too evil!

[Stop the bombs from going off. Make sure that no one dies from the explosion.]

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

Just when I thought that this was going to be a piece of cake, it feels like I've entered hell mode difficulty in a game!

Looking at the clock, there were only 7 minutes left!

I immediately ran outside to see who the driver is.

No way! It's Clyde!

He's a friend of my mom and this guy is a cop. He must have gone in to do an undercover mission.

God! What should I do?

6 minutes…

Oh crap…

Let's just deal with this.

I went into the lobby and started killing the thieves who were guarding the place near the entrance. They were scattered all over the place but I made sure that they weren't facing one another before killing them one by one.

After killing them, I ran towards the vault. Along the way, I checked the timer and there were only 3 minutes left. I'm now sweating furiously. This became more and more intense by the second.

But before I could make it in the vault, I heard a voice coming from it. "That's all of it! Let's load them up!"

No way! They're already done.

I have to stop them from leaving!

Just as I was about to reach the vault, I saw that they were carrying the bags with the cash inside and the best part was that they weren't holding their guns.

Great! This makes things easier!

Two of the thieves were now walking towards me while one of the thieves and their boss were following behind.

Without giving them a chance, I charged forward and slashed the throat of one of the thieves in front.

The guy beside him noticed that something was wrong and he immediately yelled, "Boss! Someone is here and he's trying to kill us! Get o-!" I didn't allow him to finish his sentence as I frantically sliced his throat.

Because I was a bit fl.u.s.tered by his sudden reaction, I wasn't able to cut too deep.

This guy dropped his money bag and tried to grab his gun. I didn't give him a chance at all and immediately stabbed his heart.

The boss and the other thief were now running towards the direction of their getaway vehicle. Seeing this, I tried to pull out my dagger from the guy's c.h.e.s.t. But somehow, it was stuck.

I turned to see what happened and saw that the guy was holding on the dagger.

He was still alive!

I tried to forcefully yank my weapon from his c.h.e.s.t but he suddenly grabbed my wrist and used his other hand to try and feel me.

This guy was very smart. It was like he was trying to see who his killer was.

When his hand reached my face, his eyes lit up and I knew that he found out that I was just invisible.

Without holding back, he used the last of his strength to hit me on the face with a punch.

[Warning! Invisibility Hoodie has forcefully been deactivated.]

Crap!

Seeing that this guy was already dead, I pulled the dagger and out and ran towards the vehicle.

God! I hope I'm not too late!

The moment I went through the back alley door, I felt a sharp pain at the back of my head and I fell down hard.

My vision was spinning. I slowly crawled and tried to stand up but another sharp pain shot through my face.

I was now lying with my back on the ground.

There was a muffling sound coming from someone. When my senses were clear, I could a see a guy talking while he was pointing his gun at me.

"YOU KILLED MY FRIENDS! I SHOULD JUST KILL YOU RIGHT NOW!" The guy angrily said while he kicked me on the ribs.

It hurt like hell! How could this guy hurt me? The punch from his friend was obviously weak. Or was it just because that guy was dying?

I didn't pay much attention to him since I was too busy thinking about the pain that I was feeling.

"Leave him! This guy must have alerted the police! We're going to get caught!" I turned to see who it was and saw that it was Clyde.

Thanks Clyde. I know he's just saying that to stop this guy from killing me.

"Let's go Horus! Move it!" The boss shouted from the passenger seat of their vehicle.

The guy named Horus turned to look at me again and I could see the hesitation in his eyes. After sending me a look of contempt he grabbed his bag and jogged towards the van.

Seeing that his back was facing against me, I immediately grabbed my dagger.

This guy didn't see the dagger fly towards his back.

I didn't hesitate any longer even if my body was still in pain. I immediately ran towards Horus as he was about to fall down. I grabbed the dagger from his back and glared at the boss before slicing the throat of his companion in front of him.

After I threw the body to the side, I ran to the vehicle and grabbed its door. The boss was still in shock from what happened earlier. He must have been stunned to see me kill his companion easily. Even Clyde was staring at me with his eyes wide open.

I forcefully opened the door and threw it to the side and grabbed the boss by the collar and drag him off.

He was now pleading for Clyde to help him up.

I then took the handkerchief of my face to reveal to Clyde who I was. I also made sure that the Boss didn't see who I was.

The surprise on Clyde's face is very evident. His jaw even dropped and his eyes grew wider than before.

"Sir, I know deep down, you are a good person. Please call the cops and tell them that there are Siren Trigger Bombs planted on the roads leading here. You have to stop them." I tried filling him in with the info knowing that he was doing this as an undercover job. I pretended not to know him in order not blow his cover. You can't be too careful.

I then turned my back on him and focused my attention on the boss. The timer displayed 4 minutes left.

There's still time…

Using my strength, I broke his left leg and snapped his right arm. I then dislocated his hip so he couldn't kick me with his other foot.

He lay on the ground sobbing and whining.

I'm going to torture this guy down to the very last minute and I'm… going to enjoy EVERY. BIT. OF. IT.

"Who… who are you?" The boss asked while sobbing.

"If I were you… I would be more concerned of myself." I answered in a cold voice.

I was so angry at this guy that I wanted to kill him right there and then. But I still want to gain information.

If I wanted to flourish in this "hero" business, I had to know who hired them at least. I could sense from the start that something was amiss.

The Sky City Bank is… or was… the most secure bank in the world. Yet, these idiots actually had the guts to raid this place.

Talk about gumption!

No… This was premeditated. It was well coordinated. Everything had a backup plan for them. Like everything was calculated. It's just that, they didn't consider me as a variable.

To put things together, someone must be backing them up. Someone who could assure them that they would be able to handle this job with ease.

"Who hired you to do this heist?" I asked him.

"I don't know what you are talking about." He replied.

I just sneered at the thought of this guy lying straight to my face. I mean come on. It's already obvious. No one was stupid enough to rob this bank. The police in Sky City are the best of the best.

Other than that, the air force base resides in Sky City as well. So that's why crime in this City was definitely low. Besides, the people here knows the consequence of any crime committed.

"Stop lying…" I said as I grabbed him by the collar. "I know someone put you up to this."

"I ain't telling you s***!" He replied.

I sneered at his reply and mockingly asked him, "Oh really? So you won't tell me?"

I got my dagger and placed its tip on his right t.h.i.g.h preparing to stab him. "Last chance… who are you working for?" I asked.

"Go f*** yourse-" before he could finish, I slowly inserted the dagger in his t.h.i.g.h. It was about halfway through now.

"How about now? Feel like talking?" I asked him again.

"I told you…" he was now panting. It feels like he's going to pass out from the pain in any given moment. "go f- AAAAAAAAAH!" I didn't let him finish as I continued to stab him with the dagger.

"Tick-tock… if I were you I'd start talking now. You're actually pretty brave to have made it this far."

I could feel the sharp dagger going through his Femur as it made a crunching sound.

As his screams filled the back alley, I was running out of time and was getting impatient as well.

3 minutes left…

I'll leave it at the last minute before I kill him but I need to hurry this guy up.

"Talk! These weapons, who supplied this to you?" I yelled at him as I twisted the dagger from side to side like I was trying to fit a corkscrew on a wine bottle's cork.

"AAAAAAAAH!" He didn't reply and was just shouting.

I quickly pulled the dagger out and stab the wound again, "WHO?!"

"AAAAAAH! Alright! Alright I'll talk! I'll talk!" He quickly replied.

Seeing that he was about to pass out from the pain, I grabbed his collar and held him up. "It's-".

Before he could finish a plasma bullet hit him in the head. I turned to see Clyde holding out his Plasma Gun.

"What the hell Clyde?! He almost gave us the information we needed! Why the hell would you do that?!" I can't believe this guy right now! I was so close!

"What is wrong with you? This isn't you! Torturing and killing people like they're animals?! I had to kill him to stop you! You're going to get arrested for this if the cops find out!" He retorted.

"You're a cop! You're mission comes first! Why would you jeopardize your mission just like that?!" I yelled at him.

"It doesn't matter now." He put his gun down and turn his back against me. "Backup is on the way. I already briefed them about the situation. Let's head back to the station for now."

I just sighed. There's nothing we can do about this situation anymore. I'll leave it up to the police for now.

As I was walking towards the van, I suddenly heard noises from afar.

Sirens?

"Hey Clyde, didn't you say that you already briefed the cops? Why are they still using their sirens?" I asked.

I then noticed that the timer for the mission was still ticking down. I turned around to see if the boss was still alive.

What? The boss is dead so why is the mission still not yet accomplished?

Suddenly, a sharp pain rang from my left leg and left arm. I slowly turned my head to see where the pain was coming from.

There were two small holes on both limbs and blood was oozing out of it. I turned around to see who it was that shot me and saw that Clyde was pointing his gun at me with a blank expression.

"Clyde?" I asked in a low tone. It can't be him

*ZOOM!*

Another plasma bullet went through my stomach and I fell down on my back.

Clyde walked up to me slowly and a smirk was plastered on his face.

I tried to get the words out of my mouth but I was having a hard time doing so.

"W-why?" I managed to get the words out.

Suddenly, a notification popped out in front of me.
