The Town Lord had been so generous with how much space he had given the pair of alchemists. He had given each Alchemist their own little cabin, as well as a third building for the slaves.

Ken had paid off the escorts, allowing them to leave earlier, but giving them a tip for their service. Though they hadn’t done much, and they tried to refuse Ken’s tip, but Ken forced them to accept the tip.

“I want you to remember how I treated you the next time I look for escorts,” Ken said.

Ken was a little worried without the escorts, but he didn’t want to offend the Town Lord, Chandi and Emerald would be fine to deal with most threats, so he had to trust them in that regard.

He was also worried about cultivating within the estate in case he gave himself up to the various Martial Masters nearby, so decided against it, instead waiting for the weekend to cultivate at the Newblade estate.

Though the Town Lord had prepared three buildings for them, Ken had moved them all into the same building.

“You two will continue to cultivate as you had previously,” he said to Yue and Nana. “Take the pills I give you throughout the week, and focus on increasing your rank. I will eventually acquire some martial manuals for you, but that will come in the future.”

He turned to Chandi. “You’ll be on duty throughout the day to keep watch. Don’t worry about your cultivation for the next month.”

“Yes, master.” Chandi bowed her head and took her position outside.

Ken hoped that the appearance of a wolf girl won’t upset any of the Town Lord’s people, but she was his guard, so it would have been awkward for him to kick her out.

“Here is the list of the pills I would like for this week,” the Town Lord said, handing Ken a piece of paper which had the fourteen pills the Town Lord wanted made.

Ken took a look at them. Most of them were quite rare pills, one which most Alchemists would find difficult to make for one reason or another.

“Here are three sets of items. If you require more, please send word to Guard Han, who will remain nearby at your disposal.”

“I’ll go and meet him once I’ve situated myself.” Ken wondered if he should offer the Town Lord more favour whilst he was here, but decided against it for now. It was best not to appear too eager so soon, and instead wait for a more appropriate time.

“Then I will take my leave,” the Town Lord said, leaving the Alchemists to begin their work.

“Emerald, will you be able to create these pills?” Ken asked her, showing her the list of fourteen pills.

“Yes, master.”

Ken looked up at her.

“Yes, Ken.”

[[Mortal, I hope you aren’t planning on being lazy in front of this queen…]]

Ken cleared his throat. “We’ll use the materials to create a set for the Town Lord, and then another for ourselves, and we’ll keep the third set of materials for future use.”

“As you wish, Ken.”

Emerald and Ken both began to create a set of pills each. Emerald ended up using the furnace, though she didn’t need to. It would have been suspicious if she didn’t, so Ken made sure she used it.

With Yue and Nana cultivating in a room, and Ken and Emerald working in the other room, they passed their days. The pair of Alchemists only needed a few hours each day to create the pills, though they pretended to refine the pills for a little longer.

As they refined pills, Ken could feel his strength increase as he did. He had placed the blood arrays on both Yue and Nana, and so whenever they cultivated, he would grow stronger as well. It almost distracted him from his refining, but he managed to keep his head clear to make pills.

In their free time, Ken and Emerald often relaxed with one another. Mostly, they kissed and then played with one another, but sometimes Ken would also make a few arrays.

“Emerald, you grow stronger when you create pills, don’t you?”

“Yes, master.”

“Then I should put the array on your back too.”

[[Mortal! Did this queen give you permission to place an array on her back?]]

Ken scratched his cheek. “No…”

[[How could you say you want to put an array on her back? Don’t you have a heart?]]

“Won’t her cultivation increase in speed as well?”

[[Hmph, it can, but the array shouldn’t be used on someone like Emerald. She is not a human like you.]]

“Will something happen?”

[[If the array becomes unstable for any reason, it would kill her. It can only become unstable if it’s placed on beings which aren’t the same as the Arrayist.]]

Emerald had already stripped off her top to reveal her bare back to him, and was kneeling down in front of him.

“Is there an array which could increase her cultivation speed without me siphoning it from her?”

[[Since you’ve asked so nicely, this queen will teach you a blood array which does just that.]]

Ken bit into his thumb again and then drew the array on her back, feeling her soft skin under his thumb. When he was finally done, Emerald gasped as she grew hot and red for a long while. She whimpered and moaned on the floor.

“Emerald? Are you okay?”

“I-I’m fine, master…” She drooled on the floor.

[[Now that you have the first half of the array placed on her back, you need to make another array on her front.]]

Ken helped her onto her back, which was a little awkward because he was pretending to be a cripple still.

[[Now you have to…]]

“…”

Ken listened intently to the goddess’ words, his face going from intrigue to surprise and then to a resignation.

“That’s how I’m meant to make the array?”

[[Do you believe this queen would lie to you, mortal?]]

“No, but…”

[[It’s nothing worse than what you’ve already done.]]

“I didn’t know arrays could be made in such a way…”

[[Your sight is too low. You will see the expanse of the world one day under this queen’s guidance.]]

“Thank you, goddess.”

Ken looked down to Emerald, who was staring up at him curiously, waiting for what was to come.

Ken sighed and then reached down to his trousers to pull them down. It seemed that this array required two kinds of liquid from him, both his blood, and his seed.

[[You’re quite fortunate. There are very few who this array would work for, and it just so happens that Emerald is perfect for it.]]

Ken wondered if she was poking fun at him, but since he had already come so far, he decided he should continue listening to her, cumming far across Emerald.

[How did it all come to this?]

At the end of the day, he was felt with great shame. His mind had been full of what he had done to Emerald. It was embarrassing because it wasn’t the time and place for it, but at the same time, he couldn’t resist her at all.

[Is Emerald my weakness?]

He looked to Emerald, who was resting her head against his shoulder, relaxing after a long day of hard work.

“Let’s bathe first,” Ken said. He had Emerald help him into the bath, since he was pretending that he was still a cripple.

He stretched his back as Emerald cuddled up to him and then he fell under her, letting her play with him.

“You’re going to, ah, take watch tonight, Emerald.”

“Yes, Ken…” She kissed him as she milked him dry.

He went to bed feeling so drained that day. He had made two of the pills, but had also played with Emerald a few times throughout the day.

Yue and Nana continued to cultivate even throughout the night, so Chandi would sleep alone in her own bed. She seemed bored, laying down on her front as she looked out to Emerald and Ken cuddling.

“Chandi, come here,” Ken said, wondering if she wanted to sleep beside him.

Chandi quickly crawled over to him and then lay beside him, wrapping her leg over him.

“Are you okay?” Ken asked her, feeling Emerald grab at him more possessively.

“Yes, master…” Chandi replied back, staring up at him.

“Feeling a little lonely?” Ken asked, staring down into her eyes.

She blushed and then nodded, leaning in to rest her head against his shoulder. “I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay.” Ken brushed Chandi’s hair. “I didn’t mean to neglect you.”

Chandi closed her eyes. “I understand my place.”

Ken could feel his stomach sink in guilt. He brushed her hair constantly, seeing her ears twitch, her tail flapping from side to side. He felt Emerald’s fingers clutch at his chest and then drag across his skin.

“Emerald, I’ll let you play with me in the morning. You need to stay on watch for now.” He pulled Emerald in for a quick kiss.

“Yes, Ken.” She withdrew from him, standing on watch as Ken cuddled Chandi.

Chandi fell asleep almost instantly within his arms, so he remained with her head in his chest, brushing her hair until he fell asleep too.

He realised he needed to give them all attention in some way, otherwise something would go wrong.
