'How come I didn't die...'

Raphel's opened his eyes in his snakeman body. He found himself on the tree's branch outside the dungeon... He had no wounds as if someone used healing magic on him. Then, Raphel's could hear carriages sounds...

It was then...

"No-normal tree..."

Raphel's face bloomed with happiness. The tree looked normal compared to the big ones from jungle. Since he is outside the jungle, the danger is definitely going to be a lot less. Grabbing the tree as if he wanted to hug it, Raphel began descending the tree with monkey like movement looking as if idiot.

With his body of snakeman, he could easily jump off the tree's branch... Running towards the sounds of carriage, Raphel wanted to feel the civilization!

'Maybe I am close to Rainbow City! Is Elaine here already?'

Raphel smile grew wider, the closer he get. Then, as he saw carriages...

Shu! He quickly hid behind the trees. It was because the carriage was escourted by several man and women in armors. They had swords, bows and other weapons looking scary with scars on their bodies.

Inside the carriage, Raphel found 'normal' people.

'So they are protecting people as they go through the jungle! As I thought, money is all I need!'

Raphel quickly confirmed that money is indeed the most important thing in both worlds as he stood up. Only after carriage went quite further away, he began following the road. All warriors looked quite relaxed already, thus, the road is definitely safe.

That's what he thought.

And road indeed was safe, but Raphel wasn't safe from problems. Spending a lot of time in the queue was one of them... then...

'Why is there queue? ...Holy shit, entrance fees!'

He doesn't have any money! However, since this world is quite behind the times, Raphel decided to beg the guard...

"Guard, the proud and strong Guard! Give me job!"

If he said that in Earth, people would laugh at him for sure. And that was also the case in another world.

"Pfff, don't we have already enough of homeless useless bastards? Throw him away."

And so, Raphel got thrown after all this waiting in the queue... As he sat down at the road, the tears began flow down his cheeks...

"Misfortunes... on every step misfortunes!"

It was as if 'misfortune' became the recent most used word. The snake that was on his torso coiled itself up and patted his shoulders with its head. Raphel who saw those beautiful scales only cried harder.

It was because he remembered about other people from Earth. Those from chat were important figures in their own communities while his own friend was also prince. They had a lot of people to rely on while he... he only had snake which was probably only a little stronger than him...

While he cried, the gentle voice rang out behind him... Turning around, he saw beautiful young girl in simple shirt and brown long skirt. She had long black hair and looked quite normal... normal like him...

Because of that, Raphel looked at her deeply.

"Um... if you help me gather igredients then I will pay for your entrance fee."

"R-really?"

"Yes."

The young girl nodded gently and Raphel immediately stood up. As they were going into 'normal' forest, Raphel began sharing his experiences. He felt like sharing those painful memories with someone...

"I had fought against ferocious bear. He looked like three times my height and was so strong and scary!"-

-"Then... I had to fight with the boss!"

"The boss?"

Girl asked softly with slight laugh.

"Indeed, the boss! He was big, way scarier than bear and had even weapon."

"I see."

The girl evidently didn't believe him. As for Raphel, he was very serious and did his best to convey his emotions.

"My bones cracked, insides changed places twisting and I feel like dying on every step! On every step, I had to go beyond limits and lost so much blood... I don't even know why I am alive!"

"I see, but you know... all of those things... aren't they normal?"

Normal! This word made Raphel to realize that fighting here is normal indeed. Everything he had experienced was normal and regular here. Fighting against others is normal, so he might not be safe even in the town!

Thus, he has to get as much as possible money so he can...

'I must hire full time bodyguard!'

Full time bodyguard... As Raphel ended his wild train of thought after sudden realization. The duo appeared in the grassland. The young girl took out the blue flower and showed it for Raphel.

"We must find those flowers here."

"...Alright."

And so, the duo began working. As for Raphel, he was looking around every five seconds. Since he had a lot of misfortunes, he believed that sooner or later, someone is going to attack them! That's why, even though his neck already hurt so much, he didn't stop for looking.

However, the reality told otherwise. Nothing happened and both of them quickly found ingredients, thus, Raphel entered the city easily.

'No... way! Something is going to happen in the city! That's for sure!'
