Blossoming Flowers

Chapter 97 - Unexpected Guest

The woman was slightly startled when she saw that Jiang Yingyue kept her carefree smile on her lips but did not answer.

Instead, she looked at Han Qingshan's hand that was still holding on to her and snickered. It was obvious that they had arrived together, so inviting just one of them was simply rude.

At the same time, Jiang Yingyue felt that since this woman had no actual interest in her, then it was likely that her real target was Han Qingshan, and she would not allow these women to get too close to him when she was around.

Realizing the sudden thought that was appearing in her mind, Jiang Yingyue was stunned at first, but then she chuckled slightly. It was clear that she was in too deep to get out now without being hurt, but still, she was going to do what she could to keep Han Qingshan by her side as long as she possibly could.

However, hearing her chuckle, the woman thought that she was laughing at her, and her face turned crimson, and she felt embarrassed.

She wanted to lose her temper, but she was not sure if it was a good idea since she had been tasked with attracting him. If she did not live up to He Julong's expectations, then she was likely going to be replaced fast.

He Julong was famous in the circle for changing his female companions all the time, but even though he changed them all the time, there were always women ready to queue up to be his next partner.

Gritting her teeth, she looked at the two hooked hands of Han Qingshan and Jiang Yingyue, and a rumble sounded in her mind. Did they hold hands? What kind of friends were holding hands like this; unless there was some sort of relationship between them?

Although she wanted to be the woman beside He Julong, she was not willing to challenge Han Qingshan because of this.

Her hairs stood on end when she saw that Han Qingshan was looking at her curiously. His lips were curled into a smile, but his eyes were completely cold and ruthless.

"We apologize, but we have something to discuss with Wang Feihong," Han Qingshan said as an answer to the offer that she had brought forth earlier. "We have to discuss the cooperation with him, and thus we cannot drink with you now. If time permits us to drink later, then we will gladly join you for a glass of wine."

The woman felt relieved when she heard that he was not killing her, or even chasing her out, so she quickly curtseyed to them, and rushed back to He Julong's side, her nerves frazzled and her body trembling in fear.

She had already given up on being He Julong's female companion. She knew that she had not done what she was expected to do, but she would rather value her life than clash with such a man like Han Qingshan.

She had seen her own death in his eyes, and she was very worried that if she had not withdrawn, then it would not have ended as simply as being thrown out of the night club.

When she returned to her seat, she glanced at He Julong, but he seemed to be quite deep in thought, a slight smile on his face. He was clearly contemplating what to do next.

At this point in time, the door behind them opened once more, and in came two young men; one walking ahead of the other.

Looking at them, Jiang Yingyue frowned. She had seen them before when she had left the hospital, but she was not aware of who they were. Although they seemed slightly familiar, she could just not think of where she might have encountered them before.

The two men were dressed in handsome suits, and their aura was in no way inferior to Han Qingshan. The moment they appeared, Jiang Yingyue felt the hand that held hers was tightened, and she almost winced in pain.

Fortunately, Han Qingshan seemed to notice and quickly loosened his hand, but he did not release her. In fact, he drew her even closer to him so that they were standing shoulder to shoulder.

Zhou Yan, who just entered, looked at Han Qingshan, and a slight smile appeared on his lips. This smile grew even more prominent when he saw Jiang Yingyue, but there was a cold flash that surfaced in his eyes when he saw them holding hands.

"Young Master Yan, I had not expected you to make an appearance," Han Qingshan said with a slight smile on his face while he held onto Jiang Yingyue, a triumphant smile on his lips.

"If I had known that Young Master Shan was here, then I would likely not have appeared," Zhou Yan replied smilingly.

Although the two were smiling, everyone could sense the tension in the air, and it seemed that it was much more intense than what anyone had expected.

Everyone knew that the two most prominent families in the country were the Hans and the Zhous. And although they did not have any big interactions between one another, one would expect that they would still retain a semblance of cordiality when conversing; however, both Han Qingshan and Zhou Yan were ripping the other's face off.

"I see that you are still doing well as my substitute," Zhou Yan suddenly said, stunning everyone present, and everyone was curiously listening, eager to know more gossip.

"I will take him back sooner or later, so look after him well for me until then."
