Blue Devil

"Oh, a magical beast? It has been quite awhile since one has taken the hunter exams. Please take this badge and wear it somewhere visible at all times." A small, green skinned man with a bald head said to Nick after he stepped out of the lift that connected to a restaurant on the ground above; a cover for the entrance to the phase 1 exam site.

"Thanks." Nick saw that the badge number was 48, he then thanked the green man he thought was called Bean's.

He put the badge on the right side of his c.h.e.s.t where it seemed to sink into his black combat clothes slightly, which was of course Venom grabbing ahold of it for Nick.

Nick had already let Venom see all of his memories of the anime Hunter X Hunter, so he knew that he would have to keep ahold of the badge, if by some miracle another examinee got his badge away from him.

It turned out that he had actually arrived quite early as there was only about 50 people in the underground tunnel with him, after looking around the tunnel for a second he turned back to Bean's who wished him luck and went back to welcoming more examinee's.

Walking around the tunnel he noticed just two people from the anime, an over weight man in blue clothes called Tonpa also known as the rookie crusher, known for bullying rookies and forcing them out the hunter exam through any means, but all for his own sadistic enjoyment.

When Nick's eyes passed over his the man seemed to freeze up and rush to get away from him, 'Huh, I guess he's not going to try and give me a laxative soda then.' Nick thought as he turned to the other person he noticed.

A red haired man with a pale complection, a small star and tear drop painted on underneath his eyes, his clothes were reminiscent of a circus clowns, the main colours being white, pink and red.

This was of course the psychopathic magician, Hisoka Morow, when Nick looked over at him the magician turned to face him as well and smiled, shuffling his playing cards as he did.

Nick took a second to think and his first thought was, 'Hey, if I'm here already why don't I do something fun to past the time.' And so Nick began to walk over to Hisoka, who was not looking at him at that point, or at least pretending not to notice Nick walking towards him.

"Hey, I'm Nick Stark, nice to meet you." Nick smiled as he offered his top right hand to Hisoka for a handshake.

Everyone around was surprised at what Nick said, even more so then they had been when he first arrived from the lift.

"Hisoka." He replied to Nick as he stuck his hand with his own sharp nailed hand, "What type of magical beast are you? If you don't mind me asking." He asked Nick with an eye smile, the rest of his face passive and cold, Nick could also feel that Hisoka was excited, he must want to fight him he thought before he began to answer Hisoka.

"I've been told that I look like the devil." Nick joked, "So how long do you think till the exam starts?" He asked changing the subject which didn't go unnoticed by Hisoka.

"It's going to be awhile till it does, so~ how about we play a game?" Hisoka asked Nick with a happy tune in his voice, shuffling his playing cards again.

"Alright, but don't complain to me when I win." Nick said with a smile, they then both sat down so they were facing each other.

Hisoka shuffled the cards one more time before giving them both some of them and putting the rest of the deck on the ground between them.

"So what game are we playing?" Nick grinned as he subtly activated his Byakugan to see Hisoka's cards.

"You're cheating! There's no way you could have won that round, I'm pretty sure you didn't even have enough cards." Nick complained to Hisoka, throwing his cards down on the ground in front of him in frustration.

Hisoka just laughed with sadistic joy as he collected the cards again and started shuffling them, "How can you be so sure? Maybe you're just that bad at this game." He grinned in delight as he watched Nick get angry.

"I can be sure because I've been able to see your hand this entire time, so what's the trick? You can change how the cards look somehow or something, right?" Nick asked him suggestively hinting at his possible Nen ability.

Hisoka just turned a blind eye to him and continued to shuffle the cards, pretending that Nick didn't just get one of his Nen abilities on the first go.

"X-ray vision isn't your only ability I hope, you wouldn't be any fun if that's true?" Hisoka asked Nick, turning back to him with a look of disappointment.

"No, more like support for another... so 'be no fun' you mean no fun to fight, right?" Nick asked Hisoka, but before he could answer Nick he started talking again, "That's fine, we can fight if you want but not now, there's not a lot of room here with all the other examinee's so let's do it when most of them are dead or have dropped out." Nick told him.

"I can kill them all now if you want." Hisoka said with a playing card between his fingers, a dark, hungry look in his eyes.

That made everyone around listening to the two of them back up, some even ran for the elevator taking it back up to the restaurant.

"The exam wouldn't be any fun if you kill everyone before it even starts silly!" Nick sighed at Hisoka like what they were talking about was something normal, an everyday thing, not mass murder ... it might actually be an everyday thing for Hisoka to talk about though.

"Oh, your right. Silly me~" Hisoka smiled as he put away his playing card.

"Don't worry about it, everyone makes mistakes, now how about we make a bet, the winner of our fight owes the other a favour, no matter how big or small they have to help the other with it. How does that sound? A bit of motivation for our fight." Nick said to Hisoka, putting one of his hands forward for a handshake, an innocent smile on his face.

Hisoka seemed to be considering it for a second before he accepted Nick's handshake, "Sounds like fun to me." An innocent smile on his face as well, he was probably thinking that he would just kill Nick anyway, that was until Nick suddenly unleashed the full force of Kurama's killer intent down onto him.

It was so intense that the tunnel instantly became silent, some of those around fell down and emptied their bowls, some cried and begged for mommy to help them, most of the examinee's just froze up with cold sweat pouring down their face's but there was also a couple of people who either directly fell dead from terror or committed suicide because they couldn't take the killer intent.

Hisoka was in a much better state albeit a weird state for the situation he was in, he was smiling like he just won the lottery, l.i.c.k.i.n.g his lips in excitement, Nick was also pretty sure that Hisoka had gotten an erection, "Oh come on dude! Not cool!" Nick shouted at Hisoka, dropping the killer intent and letting go of Hisoka's hand like he was being burned.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I must have lost control." Hisoka said back to Nick, as if he had just realized something; like he was waking up from a daze.

"It's fine, but let me tell you now, I'm a married man, don't go getting boners because of my killer intent." Nick said as he held up both of his left hands, showing Hisoka both of his rings.

"Oh, why do you have two? Not just the one wife? Hmm~?" Hisoka asked Nick, his tone suggesting that Nick might be cheating.

"That's right, I have two wives, they know about each other of course." Nick said straight seriously, making Hisoka become stunned.

"Huh? I was joking... " Hisoka said quietly.

Nick left Hisoka to his thoughts and looked around at all the frozen people, he of course spotted the people who killed themselves as well, "What happened to them?" He asked the person closest to him, as he pointed to the corpse's.

The person he was asking jumped slightly when he heard Nick talking to him, he was still sweating heavily though, Nick's killer intent was still pressing on his mind but he didn't want to die so he quickly answered Nick, "They killed themselves when they felt your killer intent, they couldn't handle the pressure I guess." He explained to Nick albeit he stammered the entire time, still being filled with fear of Nick.

"Oh, alright then, thanks for the help." Nick smiled to the man not realising that he looked like a demon there to take the mans life with a smile on its face.

The man quickly ran for the elevator, joining the crowd that had formed from people who had also awoke from their frozen state, making Nick confused why he suddenly ran away from him but he just shrugged his shoulders and turned back to Hisoka who had been listening in, he seemed to have a permanent smile on his face whenever he looked at Nick now though.

"Hey Hisoka I'm going to see if there any interesting people around, see you later for our fight, don't forget our bet!" Nick called behind himself as he walked away from him, the left over people that hadn't run away made way for him as he went by.

Hisoka just watched Nick walk away, slowly he began chuckling with his hand over mouth like he was trying to restrain himself but it was useless and he was soon laughing like a mad man.

"Oh Nick~ You're a fun little toy aren't you." Hisoka said to himself as he watched Nick walk away.

'Damn Hisoka was weird, glad I finally managed to make that bet.' Nick thought to himself as he looked around the rest of the tunnel, he then looked to the elevator and saw that the newest examinee was number 387.

'Not long now.' He thought still walking around with a bored look on his face and his top arms crossed over his c.h.e.s.t, his bottom arm in his pockets.

"Hello, please wear these badges in a visible location at all times." Bean's said to the newest examinee's to step out of the elevator, handing them the badges 403, 404 and 405.

The main protagonist of the anime, Hunter X Hunter, Gon accepted the badge from Beans, so did his two friends, Kurapika and Leorio.

Nick watched them from far away with his Byakugan, watching them as they put on the badges and walked more into the tunnel, soon being called to by Tonpa who was sitting on a pipe that run along the tunnel.

"Yo." Tonpa waved at them, jumping off the pipe and then walking up to the trio with a well practiced happy smile on his face.

Gon asked him how he could tell that they were new to the hunter exams.

"More or less. After all, this will be my thirty-fifth attempt." Tonpa explained to them happily.

"Thirty-five times?!" The trio shouted together in shock.

"Well, you could say I'm an exam veteran." Tonpa bragged to them, Leorio whispered, "That isn't something to brag about." To Kurapika who agreed with him, Gon was simply still impressed.

"If you have any questions, feel free to ask me." Tonpa continued.

"Thank you." Gon said.

Tonpa then raised his hand for a handshake with Gon, introducing himself at he same time, "My name is Tonpa."

"I'm Gon." He said shaking hands with Tonpa, he then looked back at the two behind him and said, "These are Kurapika and Leorio." Getting a nod from both of them to Tonpa.

"Hey, are there others who have taken the exam a bunch of times like you?" Gon asked him with child like innocence.

"Well, I have the most experience here, but there are a few others." He said lookin around at the other examinee's.

"For instance, there's him." He said as he pointed at a heavy set man eating a box lunch, "Number 255, Todo, the wrestler. He's unmatched in strength, and he's smarter then he looks." He then continued talking as he pointed to the next examinee.

"On the other side, we have number 103, Bourbon, the snake charmer." Tonpa was pointing to a man wearing a grey and purple turban, "He tends to hold grudges, so you don't want to end up on his bad side." As he said this a snake came up to rest on Bourbons shoulder.

"And then... " Tonpa said as he looked around the tunnel.

"Number 191, Bodoro, the kung Fu master. He's getting old, but there still isn't a better martial artist around." He was talking about an old man in martial art clothes, sitting on the ground meditating.

Next he pointed to three guys with their backs to each other, they all had hats on and black tattoos underneath their eyes that looked like fang's, "Then you have the three brothers, Amori, Imori, and Umori. They perform consistently well, thanks to their excellent teamwork."

"And number 384, Gerreta, the huntsman." Gerreta looked like a court jester with the white collar around his neck and the way he put his afro into two ball at the back of his head, "He specializes in killing all manner of creatures, by blow dart an club."

"There are other, but they have taken the test the most times." Tonpa finished turning back to the trio who had been listening closely, as the people Tonpa described would be their biggest competition.

He was going to continue when someone not far from them bumped into Hisoka, screams of pain soon followed of course attracting everyone's attention.

The man who had bumper into Hisoka was on his knees, his arms out in front of him, but they were actually gradually turning into red flower petals, the man could only scream in agony as he watched his arms disappear into nothingness.

"Oh, how peculiar... " Hisoka spoke with his arms crossed and an unhappy look on his face, he didn't speak very loudly but everyone could hear him in the quite tunnel.

"His arms seem to have become flower petals." Hisoka said before he spread his folded arms and said, "No smoke and mirrors here." A happy smile on his face that unnerved Gon who was shocked at what he just saw.

"Do take care. When you bump into someone, you really should apologize." Hisoka then left the now dead man and continued to walk around the tunnel.

Going back to the trio and Tonpa, he started explaining just who Hisoka was to them, "That psychopath is back again." Tonpa started with sweat falling down his face.

"Again?" Gon asked.

"Does that mean he took last year's exam?" Kurapika asked a little surprised.

"Number 44. Hisoka, the magician. Last year, he was a virtual lock to pass the test, until he all but killed an examiner he didn't like." Tonpa explained.

"A-And they're still allowing him to retake the exam this year?" Leorio shouted.

"Of course. Every year, the examiner's and test content change, and the examiner's are the ones who choose the new content. The devil himself could pass if that were the examiner's determination." Tonpa told them.

'That sounds like it's my cue to make a grand entrance.' Nick thought to himself before he teleported away.

Suddenly before Tonpa could continue speaking a great big cloud of red smoke appeared in front of them, surprising Tonpa and Leorio but making Gon and Kurapika get in a fighting stance, "Did someone call my name? I felt my ears burning." Nick grinned at them as the smoke cleared around his face, letting them slowly see him and his devilish smile.

"What the hell?" Leorio shouted when he saw Nick suddenly in front of them.

"Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Nick Stark, people call me Blue Devil but feel free to call me Nick." Nick told them with a smile.

"Hi! I'm Gon!" He practically shouted at Nick, with his handout for a handshake.

Nick gladly accepted his hand with one of his right and shook it, he could see Leorio and Kurapika looking at Gon with surprise.

Tonpa was shaking in the knees at the side because of what he witnessed before when Nick was talking with Hisoka.

After Nick talked a little bit more with Gon about why he was taking the hunter exams he said goodbye and walked off once again, "I hope to see you at the end Gon."

He went off looking around the tunnel for interesting people that might have been hidden in the anime.

"Well he was nice!" Gon said to his two friends, they just continued to look at him with shock.

"He's not." Tonpa said suddenly speaking up so they turned back to him, they gave him a look for him to explain, "Nick Stark, the Blue Devil, a mysterious magical beast, it's his first time taking the hunter exam and he has already made a big impact. Within seconds he made friends with Hisoka, and most shocking of all he is able to kill people from his killer intent alone, the only reason I'm not dead is because I'm a bit used to past examinee's killer intent." Tonpa explained to them making them even more shocked then before.

They all quickly turned to were Nick was walking around with people moving around him. They each had different reactions to Nick now, Leorio was shaking in fear but still looked determined to pass the exams even if Nick was taking it as well.

Gon was amazed that such a person even existed, his child like innocence still very prominent in his personality, he also seemed to be very interested in getting to know more about Nick.

Kurapika had the most drastic change in expression, his face distorted in anger with his eyes shining a crimson red just slightly hidden by his long blonde hair, "I hate people who can kill innocence's without even blinking." He practically growled, surprising those next to him, Leorio was going to speak when suddenly an alarm went off making everyone in the tunnel look around for what was happening, when the wall at the back of the tunnel suddenly started going up into the ceiling.

It revealed an extremely long tunnel that even Nick couldn't see the end of with his Byakugan, the end of the tunnel being just out of his range.

There was also an extremely tall and thin man wearing a purple suit, he had light purple hair and a thin, curly, black moustache but it also seemed like he had no mouth, "The hunter exam will now begin." The man said before he turned around and started to run in an odd way, everyone looked around confused but a certain few started to follow, people like Nick and Hisoka, they had already realised that the exam had begun.

When everyone else saw that they too started to run after the man.

"I am Satotz, the Phase One examiner. You must follow me to Phase Two." Satotz explained to all the examiner's, someone in the crowd shouted out what the first Phase was, Satotz replied with, "The first Phase has already begun."

And so all the examinee's followed after Satotz as he ran ahead of everyone.

After running for so long, with no end in sight, Nick began to get bored and so he began to fly, up over the top of the few people around him and even over Satotz, everyone around exclaimed their surprise with gasps and hushed whispers of life not being fair.

"Satotz! I got bored so I'm going to go ahead, see'ya!" Nick called to the mouth-less examiner before he flapped his wings one more time and blasted away from them, causing a powerful gust of wind to push against them.

They could hear sounds of sonic booms happening from the end of the tunnel, most people just gave up right there, some falling down from the gust of wind Nick made, others because they knew they couldn't complete with Nick after everything he had shown them so far.

Getting along with the famous psychopathic magician Hisoka, making people kill themselves with his killer intent and now flying away at unimaginable speeds.

What can't the Blue Devil do?
