Bossy Man, I'm Not Afraid Of You!!!

Chapter 17 - Glowing House

If so, what was he going to do to him. Flashing into my brain, I remembered my first encounter with Jace, and although he did lend me a hand, it was no denying the fact that he created the bloodshed in that alley. So many things ran through my mind, wondering if he had been a killer. I mean, that could be the reason how he knew my location, why he moved in the middle of the night, or more importantly, why he pretended not to know me.. Could I be his next target... One thing I knew, was that if my accusations were right, then I would be at fault for not stopping him.

"Emilia stop the car," I demanded.

She responded with a "why, what's wrong? Did you leave something?"

"No.. I just... I need to go back," I said.

"No, what you need is to do, is get to a hospital. I mean look at your leg," she shouted.

"No, I can't go to the hospital," I said frantically.

"And why is that," she asked.

Showing her my leg, I said "it's not so bad, it's just a scratch..." Shaking her head, she gave me a disapproving look.

"I don't want my family to know..." I said giving her an excuse, because my real reason would seem idiotic to her.

Sighing loudly, she said, "okay okay, we'll go home but if it gets worse, we are going straight to the hospital Mina." I agreed with her.

We drove to her house in silence, but Jace's house still glowed with the lights on. I guess I was wrong, he was home all along. After patching me up, she went straight into her room. She was clearly still angry. Click, Click. It was the first time she'd locked me out of her room and first time silence scared me. I should have showed her more gratitude for saving me. As the night drew quieter, I couldn't sleep. Looking next door, at the house that remained glowing, I felt guilty for suspecting that he was a criminal. Until, I saw his car pull into his driveway and his come out wearing the same thing I saw the silhouette wearing. Without thinking it through, I began hobbling down the stairs and out the door, trying to make little to no noise. Peeking over the gate, I saw him get out of his car and walk inside off his house. This was my chance, slowing making my way to his car, I looked through the windows but their was no one inside. Recalling any killer movie, I have seen I went straight for the truck, but it was locked. Now what? Beep. Beep. Sounded from the car, making me jump back in my tracks. "Mina?," I heard him say.

Forgetting my leg injury, I began to run, but ended up tripping over something and fell to the ground. Coming to help me up, he reached out his hand to me and asked, "are you okay Mina?"

Scooting away from him, I replied, "I'm fine. Don't come near me." His eyes widened in confusion.
