Bound To You For A Lifetime

Chapter 20 - 20: How to make four families get along

Wednesday came very fast. Flora was dressed in black jeans and a blue shirt. Her hair fell on her shoulders giving her a more m.a.t.u.r.e look than her usual ponytail.

"Is this good?" She asked with a bit of nervousness.

"Yes, it looks good. You look exceptionally beautiful today."

After coming out clean about the whole thing, Frank's days were better. The only thing he failed to do was tell them about it back home. Otherwise, he was ecstatic about everything.

"You say that everytime you see me," she eyed him playfully.

In less than an hour, the couple arrived at Frank's family home. Coincidentally, Clara was also stepping out of her car the same time. She hurried over to where he stood.

"Hey Frank," she greeted with a huge grin on her face.

"Hey," he replied as he helped Flora out of the car.

Her grin caved in when she saw the couple acting lovey-dovey. Then she thought about her awesome relationship with Greg and Joy and instantly felt like a winner.

She mocked Flora in her mind, "what's the use of being all sweet when the parents won't acknowledge you."

This was her turf, and she'd show off as much as she wanted.

"Hi Flora. Do come in. Aunt and uncle have been waiting for a while now." She flashed her victory smile as she walked in confidently.

Flora couldn't help but shake her head. Granny Janet was definitely right. If she wanted to get to know Frank's parents in a subtle way, all she needed was to have Clara around.

Unknown to Clara, Flora viewed her as a walking "parent-in-law" encyclopedia.

"Just ignore her. My parents would love you just as much as I do." He pecked her on her cheek, then walked her in.

Greg and Joy were waiting by the door. When the locks turned, excitement was clearly visible in their eyes. Just then, Clara walked in, their eyes dulled instantly.

Frank had told them that Clara would be coming, but they couldn't figure out why he'd want her there when he was bringing his girlfriend home. What they didn't know was that Frank himself didn't know why Clara was there. Since Flora wanted her there, he'd gladly oblige.

"Aunty, Uncle. I haven't seen you in a while," she said as she beamed and hugged them both.

Frank had told Flora that he'd tell his mom to invite Clara. Unfortunately, he didn't get to tell them because Clara called him first, and he invited her anyway.

"To what do we owe this surprise?" Joy said awkwardly.

"I called her over," Frank's clear voice sounded as he walked Flora in.
