After the meeting, the families became inseparable. Even though there was still some friction left between Greg and Janet, they let go off their competitiveness for their kids. Things were pretty settled on that side of town, but what about Clara?

A year ago when she left with determination to win back the man she loved, Clara found her own story along the way. At that time, an opportunity to travel for work surprised her, and she took it without thinking twice. Although her mother was sad to see her go, she still supported her decision.

"While you're on this trip, meet others, reconstruct yourself, find a love that belongs to you. When you return, I want my happy daughter back with no resentment in her heart," Gloria said as she hugged her daughter tightly.

Clara set out on her own journey, not for what her mother advised, but for her to return a woman that Frank would adore and cling on to. Or so she thought.

She got used to her new environment easily and got along with her co-workers. After having dinner with some clients, she headed to the bar section to enjoy some time alone.

"What's on your mind?" The rough voice drew her out of her bubble. She looked at the man beside her. He was refined, dressed in a fitted suit, hair was gelled to reveal his smooth forehead, chiseled jawline, but his eyes were playful.

"What business of yours is it?" He was good looking, but he didn't hold a candle next to her Frank.

"Who ruffled this kitty's fur?" The guy replied with a hint of laughter in his voice.

"People who mind their business live longer." She left after saying that. He had completely ruined her mood. For someone who always reacted calm in any situation, this guy deserved a medal for irritating her with a few words.

The man looked at the figure until it disappeared from his line of sight.

"Boss, my girlfriend reads a lot of online novels. In the typical plot, the man just grabs the woman to get a marriage certificate, then starts to spoil her until she falls for him. Do you want to try that way?" Noone knew how long the speaker had been there.

The man looked at his secretary with a wicked smile, "Well, you know how I said you acc.u.mulated enough points for a bonus, it seems that I saw it wrong." He stood up and adjusted his attire before leaving.

The secretary could only cry in the club.

On several occasions, this man showed up to interrupt Clara's quiet time. When she couldn't take it anymore, she lashed out.

"I just want to know what's on your mind," he stared at her innocently.

"OK. I'm thinking of ways to make a comeback into the life of the man I love. He has a girlfriend but that position should be mine." She finally relaxed after she said what was on her mind. Letting off steam was another secret to long life.

After a bit of silence, the man spoke up, "I'll help you."

Clara was stunned, "you have a way?"

The man looked at her with a flirty look, "of course I do. Just do as I say."

She looked at him skeptically, "why should I believe you?"

He laughed happily, "because I am your guardian angel. You can call me Angel."

After Angel and Clara got acquainted, they set up a place to meet for her to learn strategies to conquer Frank. To avoid any unpleasant incidents from happening, they settled for a place of Clara's choice where she knew people around.

"First thing you need to do is know his preferences. For example, I'm allergic to pineapples, my favorite color is burgundy, I'm not picky when it comes to food, I have an older sister, I look 5 years younger when my hair is not gelled. I have a small company under my name. My middle name is Gabriel. I've never had a girlfriend. I like playing basketball and especially love cycling."

The secretary on the side couldn't help shake his head. His boss just listed everything about himself and had the nerve to share it as an example. Really shameless.
