Broken Destiny

Chapter 11 - Capitulum 9 - Their Broken Destiny

After the scene in his room, Leomord heads for Vexana in her throne room. He sure as hell he has a lot of questions.

"Your Majesty," his voice booms right after he pushes the doors of the room, "I have some questions."

---

'He doesn't remember me...' Lunox thinks.

She only sadly smiles before closing her eyes. And off she goes back to her dreamworld.

---

"The couple's story is a sad tale to tell. Their love story had not been mentioned in books as it would serve as a bad role model to children. Love that is forbidden should not be pursued as there would be some consequences after a short term of happiness."

Leomord was attentive and all ears to Vexana's tale.

"Then how do you know of this tale, your Majesty?" he asks, doubtful and curious as the same time.

She smiles, "because Luciera was my ancestor. Their great but tragic love story has been passed down to generations."

'Luciera? Why does that name sound so awfully familiar?'

That name seemed like a trigger because tons of memories flashed inside his head. How it all started... and how it all ended.

He shook his head before falling on the ground, holding his throbbing head in his hands.

"Now you know, Leomord," Vexana says before walking towards her throne and sitting on it, "now you know."

He screamed as loudly as he could. His screams of pain, guilt, loneliness, and anger echoed through the empty hallways of the castle.

He had missed so much. He wasted too much time. He left her all alone, all these years!

"Luce..." he muttered, "my darling Luce."

"I'm sorry."

Without a word, he storms out of the room.

With heavy yet gentle steps, he reached the closed door of his room. His loud heartbeat was deafening him as he opened the door.

On his bed lays his love. His one and only love. After for so many centuries, they finally meet again. And this time, there would be nothing to stop them from loving each other.

He walks toward her and sits on the chair just beside his bed. He c.a.r.e.s.ses her face softly. From her nose to her cheeks, with his thumb.

"Sleep now, my love," he gently whispers in her ears like a soft prayer, " this time, I will let tomorrow worry about itself. This time, I will focus on what is happening now."

He kisses her forehead lightly, "and that is us," he mutters before intertwining their hands and resting his head on the bed, just beside her arm.

---

The first thing Lunox saw was the bright light that seeped through the heavy, torn dr.a.p.es of an unfamiliar room. She tried to sit up and move her hand, but was unable to.

Beside her, on the chair, was a Leomord who was sleeping peacefully. Their hands were intertwined with each other and his head was on it.

Her lips formed into a small smile before she kisses him on the forehead, "I will never forget you, Leo. I hope you remember me soon, my love."

She smiles before sitting up to wait for him to be awake.

It was not long after when Leomord opened his eyes to meet her purple ones. He seemed shocked for a moment, but soon recovered after.

He stands up, takes her into his arms, and hug her. He rested his nose on her head as he takes in the moment of being with his lost love.

"Luce. I remember you."

And after so many years, he finally saw the familiar smile of Luciera. The princess who owned the kingdom he loved. The one who made his heart beat. The girl he knew he doesn't deserve. The very reason he lived centuries ago.

"I've missed you, Leo."

"Ditto, my princess. Ditto."

---

They were now in the place where it all started... and where it all ended. Underneath the now old tree, but it seemed to them that nothing has changed. Similar to their feelings for one another. Unalterable and simply irrevocable.

It was centuries ago when they last done this. And that is to be in each others' arms. Worrying about nothing. Not caring about the world.

Across them was the peaceful open field of the Land of Dawn and the sun that shined as brightly as ever. The trees swayed along with the breeze, the flowers and grass danced with the gentle air. The gentle and meek serenade the stream and the birds' delicate chirps seemed to have sang a quiet love song for the couple.

They have waited for this moment for so long. After for so many years, their lips finally met.

This time, they hoped and pray that fate would be finally good to them. To let their lives intertwine with each other. To be bound for each other forever. To let their two lonely stars in the night sky, finally become one with each other.

And to finally fix the broken destiny they had, centuries ago.
