Broken Tower Saga: The First Swordsman

Chapter 217: Crazy Training

In the barren land of the sword abode, Wrik was sitting in meditation and surrounding him formed a formless whirlpool of maha mana and the heavy air. His body was sweat ridden through all of them was evaporating in naked eyes. It was not the first-time Wrik was trying this, though he was far from being adept in it.

Well, more than being adapted to it, he was barely enduring the burning in his internal organs. The light was flickering in his body, showing the blood vessel as well as it was burning the skins and his organs.

Like the brighter the fire, the brighter the light, the opposite was somewhat true. The more light, the more heat it creates in the body. Moreover, it was so fast, like the light, that it broke any defence in its path. If it was a normal fire, attribute it could not have, but with the warping, the light made in its path damaged all the defence in his inside or outside the body.

Wrik did not stop as the whirlpool of mana rose, and so did the whirlpool inside his mana system. In just a short span of two minute, Wrik had created 8 maha points in his system, though they have not been stable yet.

He just kept on swirling the mana as well as the heavy air of the plane. If he was using the normal mention, it would take him at least two hours or more two stable one maha point, yet with the help form [eye of Insights], the heavy mana in this plane as well as the huge boast from the bracelet he was wearing, made him do this in just two minutes and that two with the numbers of at least 8 or more.

Clearly, anyone in their right mind would not do it even if they have a second life.. this thing could kill anyone if even the tiniest point creates a trickle in his system. Luckily for him, he had ten lives here. But he can't lose even one of them in training, knowing all ten of them would be needed to fight against the glowing man.

Wrik did not know what effects this heavy air on him, though he could guess it made him a little crazy and reckless. High on power would be the right words to describe it. Though he could guess a little about it, he already has no idea how unstable his mantel state is for consuming this air without limit.

Though all of it was not in vain, even if the air was maddening and worked like morphine, it was magical. Other than soothing the burning inside his body, it helped in the transition of the maha point as well.

Wrik could not hold even a second longer and then his eyes burned in white light. Even though it was closed, the burning white light glowed like that of the glowing man.

He divided the incoming mana into the strands of eight and balanced the eight maha points on the eight directions of his body.

They glimmered in his light, stayed there for a few more seconds more and so did the whirlpool outside his body

All the light turned bleak and his body fell on his back. Wrik went unconscious again for the third time.

At least he had not died.

       . . .

Anton and Michelle were moving at a fast pace, wearing cloaks in the bright illusionary forest of the seventh floor. They were able to escape from the men that we're tracking them, but failed to find a way out.

Luckily for them, the ones that came after them were none but the mahasayers of the floor. They were possibly bought with credits to do the bidding for Lord Rudyard, as he did not find a way to let his men in the seventh floor yet.

Even people with power were powerless against the law of the tower. Some floors were not meant for people of a higher power. He needed to get approval from the council first and after questioning the curfew he pulled, he might get the chance, considering the item was of great value.

The climbers that came after them were, after all of the people, searching for any clues they could find. Meaning they have not found out if the person who stole their stuff was here or not, nor have they identified their appearances. Anton only hopes his state would be better when they are able to find them.

"You said Jake has not finished climbing this floor, is that right?" Anton asked as they climbed a tall mountain. Even in the illusionary mountain, the weather and cold they could not ignore. The only fortunate thing was that there was no insecticide on this floor, nor anything for food. The ration that they have with them, along with other appliances, would last a week at the latest while they already spend a day here. Anton wanted to make as much time as possible for Wrik to arrive as well as get better in his shape.

"Yes, I should be with him now, but here I am. I wonder where he is now. Possibly on this floor," Michelle said. "While Kevin and Davin said they would wait for us on the eighth floor."

"I think rushing to the eighth floor is a bad idea, though we don't know the way out," Anton said. "They could very possibly put men there to intercept anything suspicious."

"So, we should just wait here and camp until our food and water run out?" Michelle asked. Her expression was not that of anger now, after the initial flare, nor that she had cried again. She only chose to ignore anything that lead her to the feelings she did not understand and so far it was working. Though staying with Anton alone all day turned out to be a challenge.

"Food and water are never a problem," Anton said. "We can always beat down other climbers and get their food, though it would give our location to them if we were not lucky. Let's just wait until our food runs out."

       . . .

After unknown successful attempts of his forming maha point, Wrik was now working on his swordsmanship now on the barren land. He actually did not know how much time had passed, nor he know how many times he was close to dying in his crazy attempt. For another matter, he found something new in this space.

His omega cube does not actually work properly here and nor does its time calculating feature. Meaning the law of this place very possibly be different from the tower and the time conversation rates could possibly be different as well.

In the time he was here, Wrik had never taken rest on his own other than the times he passed out after exhaustion, though he woke up a couple of hours later with a drunken feeling. He could feel the air was changing him, yet he was so drunk with power that he did not stop it. Now he had only one goal, to be strong enough to defeat the glowing figure.

Light warped behind his body as Wrik was preparing for a slash. All the light made it into a point and with the boast from the bracelet, he made a slash forward.

A single line of light warped out of his sword and travelled at lightning speed that even from his was hard to follow, but it was still not enough. He could not bend it as the glowing figure attacked, nor was it as fast. This move would only be useful when he would get a freebie against the man or possibly be caught off guard, though the possibility of that was close to zero.

Other than that, along with his maha point in his body, his usage of mana, as well as defence and agility has rose, though he would like to work on the defence more. he must have found a way against the slashes of the glowing figure that ignore all the defence other than the armament.

His plan was to use the light element as an armament defence against his white armour. It could possibly put a defence against the attacks of the glowing figure. As in the phrase, iron cuts iron. He wanted to try light against the light. Though he had not found a way to use it, nor did he learn how to amplify his speed with the help of the light.

He made a couple more slashes until his mana runs out. He got where he put his stuff and sat down. He opened the food carrier again even though he was not hungry. The mana recovers quite quickly here, and it's about three or four times the speed of outside but it would still take a few minutes.

Wrik put a couple of pieces of meat on his mouth and looked at his omega cube, the omega codes that he coped to be precise. Unconsciously, his eyes drifted off towards the small stone doll figure Sophia had given him.

She said it to keep it with him all the time on the body if he could. Though he put it in the spatial storage most of the time before, he was keeping it close to him now most of the time, in the hope some supernatural thing will happen.

He had not figured out what it was for yet, not but since he trusted Sophia, he kept it. This should be the lowest point of his life. He needed every help he could gain, even if its some unknown stone figure.
