Broken Tower Saga: The First Swordsman

Chapter 66: Wheel of Fortune (3)

"Another great draw," Ryat said, looking at the potion on the screen.

"This is great, Byul. With this, you can recover in minutes. You don't have to wait for a couple of weeks," Michelle said, from Byul's behind.

Byul did not know what to say. She collected the vial of potion. The solution inside was barely any different from water. She inspected it when she heard the salesman say:

"Using something like the Advance Recovery potion, for some injury that can heal in a couple of weeks, is a tremendous waste, even an intermediate Recovery potion can do that job. You should leave it for some other time. Just hope you don't have to use it soon,"

Byul nodded, as she left the wheel for someone else to try.

"Is this machine broken or something? Why are we getting such great stuff?" Anton could not help but ask. "Or the Omeganet is being extremely generous to us."

"Omeganet is only generous to those who are capable enough," Ryat answered Anton's inquiry. "By succeeding against the Infector-abominations, you all proved yourself to be capable enough."

Anton nodded in understanding. "So. if we show great capability frequently, we continued to receive more rewards?"

"Yes, those with great capability receive rewards according to their contributions most of the time."

Anton and others nodded in acknowledgement.

"Mister Ryat?" Wrik asked suddenly, "Can this type of potion heal mental illness or paralysis?"

"It can help in some insensibility cases, but it should not be able to cure the paralysis from the root," Ryat eyed Wrik with interest. "And as for mental illness, this thing is not of much use."

''Then what about the Transcendent Recovery potion?" Wrik asked further. His palms were already clasping together without him knowing.

But Ryat noticed that. The short, bald man hissed, "I'm not sure. It depends more on the condition of the patient. There is always something you don't know." he sighed. "Why do you ask?"

"Nothing, just curious," Wrik lied. He looked at Tanya saying, "Tanya, you should go next, your luck should not lose out to anyone here."

Tanya smiled and went over to the wheel of fortune with great interest. She looked back at Anton and asked, "Are you going to pay or Should I?"

"I'm paying," Anton said as he paid again.

Tanya put her palm on the centre of the wheel as she infused her mana quietly. She was like Byul, only supplied with the amount needed.

The wheel of fortune spun for a short few seconds until it stopped with an image of another potion on the screen. But unlike the recovery potion, the vial was tiny with barely maybe a couple of droplets like liquid inside.

[Congratulations. You have won an Omega evolution potion.]

[Item: Omega Evolution Potion.

Omega Evolution Potion is one of the top-level mystic potions in the Maha Tower. It can help the mahasayer rank up their omega ability, or innate ability. The usage of the potion is only limited to the Grade S, and it can only advance one rank.]

"This is probably the greatest prize one can get from the wheel of fortune," Ryat said, his eyes at the tiny portion on the vent.

Anton flabbergasted. "What? Even higher than this?" he asked, lifting the boot.

"That boot?" Ryat mocked, twisting his lips. "Even if you have both of the pair, it still could not hold a candle against the tiny vial. This is something you can't just buy with omega points.

"It can rank up any ability to S-grade. Do you know what that means? There is an enormous gap between Grade-A and S. It takes decades of purposeful training to reach S grade in one Ability, but the potion can break the wall in seconds. You get a decade's worth of insight in just a few seconds."

Not just Anton, everyone else in the room was stunned. Be it Byul, Anton or Wrik, all looked at the tiny vial with envy.

"Store it quickly," Anton said to Tanya, who was inspecting the tiny vial. "Or I might have the impulse to steal it from you."

Tanya snickered as she put away the vial. "Let's see what I get in my second draw," she said, following the same process again.

[Congratulations. You have won a perfume.]

"It is not something I'm looking for, but guess I can use it," Tanya said, pocketing in the perfume as she left the wheel.

"Now the only one left with you, Wrik," Anton said as he paid his last amount of points.

"Hold on a minute," Wrik said. "Let me awaken all my luck."

"Just go, and get it over," Anton said. "I'm hungry."

Wrik smiled and went to the wheel. He followed the process as the wheel started to spin. A sparkle of excitement lit up in his mind as he saw the wheel slowing down.

[Congratulations. You have won a Shaving and hair product kit.]

"Eh?" Wrik's expression dampened. He was hoping for something good, yet all he get some foam, shampoo and a razor. "What is wrong with this equipment?!"

"It probably sent out what you needed the most in your current situation," Tanya chuckled out. "Have you seen yourself in the mirror, you need a shave and a proper trimming."

As Tanya said it, Wrik subconsciously rubbed his cheek, and he found outgrown facial hair. Wrik does not have a man's beard, his beard was that of a boy, and when it was outgrown, it looked bad. That's why he shaved in his whole life, never let it outgrew more than a couple of inches, but he was too busy with the trial and stuff and almost forgot about his facial hair.

And as for the hair, he liked it long, not long as the ladies, but long enough to reach his shoulder. But now it is a few inches past his shoulder.

"Is there a barbershop here in the sanctuary?" He could not help but ask. Even though he was an introvert, he always kept himself clean and presentable. It would not be fair to his good-looking face if he didn't do justice to it.

"Yes, you can find anything necessary here," Ryat said. "Well, then you got another draw left."

Wrik nodded as he transferred his attention to the wheel again. He followed the process again. 'Come on, give me something useful, a useful skill or ability, or some equipment.'

His thoughts were broken as an image of a weird key appeared on the screen. It had a cubic shaped head with a key below it. The entire thing had dozens of parallel lines inscribed on it. For anything, this key looked quite unusual.

[Congratulations. You have won a Key.]

And that was it. There was no further information on it.

"It seems you had a bad day today," Anton mused.

Wrik said nothing, collected the key from the vent as he ran an inspection on it.

[Item: Key of ???

Unknown.]

And it was as Wrik guessed his innate ability was not strong enough to get any information out of it, but Wrik did pick up some strange aura from it, and it was warm. He felt no harm in it, only a an intimacy. He was right this key was not normal, but he found nothing extraordinary about it other than the intimate aura. Wrik was about to save the key, when he heard the shopkeeper say:

"Would you mind if I examine it for a bit?"

Wrik frowned. "Yes, I would mind," he said, strong the key away.

Ryat frowned back but did not ask again.

The nice thing Wrik could do here, give that key to Ryat for his curiosity. The bald salesman had already helped them with their purchase, even advised them on more than one occasion. Wrik was not a rude person, but something inside him told him not to hand over the key to anyone.

"I think our shopping is over now, let's go back," Wrik said as he walked towards the exit. "Ton, didn't you say you're hungry?"

"Yeah, coming," Anton said as the five of them exited from the second floor.

While the bald shopkeeper stood there still frowning, none could guess what he was thinking. Then he smiled as another item appeared on his arm. It was another key identical to the one Wrik got as the prize. Ryat muttered, looking at the key. "Soon."
