Broken Tower Saga: The First Swordsman

Chapter 70: Armament Reinforcement (2)

Wrik felt a strand of foreign mana invade his body, but he did not obstruct its path, as Sophia said it. He closed his eyes as instructed by Sophia and paid his entire attention to the foreign mana. The mana moves quietly as fast as his mind could follow. It was on his left palm, and after only about a dozen seconds, the mana divided into four ways and rushed towards some specific locations in his palm.

The foreign mana searched for the maha point on his left palm until it started revolving around some micro whirlpools. Four of them, there were four micro whirlpools inside Wrik's left palm.

"Those nano whirlpools you're sensing are the maha point," Sophia's voice came into his ears. "Imprint those places in your mind."

Wrik did what Sophia asked. He imprinted those four micro whirlpools inside his mind when the four strands of foreign mana rushed from the whirlpool all the way to his arm. They found three more whirlpools in his lift arm, one just above the wrist, and two others at the shoulder. The remaining mana strand vanished for a moment and, in the next moment, reappeared in his right palm. Like the previous time, it was divided into few strands and searched for those nano whirlpools.

It found seven nano whirlpools in his right palm, almost double of the left. Wrik guessed it's probably because he was a right-hander, so he might have created more on the right arm with his subconscious. Wrik imprinted those spots as the foreign strands of mana searched all around his body.

There were not many maha points left to discover as more than half of them were in his palms, where he found a couple at his heart and abdomen, a few on both legs, and three on his forehead. On his both arms, Wrik had 21 maha points, and altogether it was only 37.

Wrik opened his eyes to notice a few of them had already finished their task. They were Tanya, Michelle, and Evan—the best among their peers. After Wrik, Anton opened his eyes as he said silently.

"I have thirty in just my arms, while only twelve more all over the body. How many do you have?"

"I've fifty-two, and all of them in my arms," Michelle said, giggling. It's a small win for her.

"I'm about forty," Evan disclosed his numbers.

While the third person did not say anything. Tanya was looking at the figure of her elder sister on the stool. The blonde woman was also closed eyes with a frown on her brows. Droplets of sweat formed on her forehead and nose as Sophia helped all of them.

It was not easy to control ten strands of mana at the same time. Wrik would feel despair if he had to control only two strands of mana. While Sophia first divided her mana into ten strands, then she divided them further, a dozen more each. It's a transcendent level of mana control.

'It was no joke when she said she was a couple hundred times stronger than any of them,' Wrik mused inwardly.

The process continued for a quarter of an hour more before Sophia opened her eyes. She sighed, wiping the sweat from her face with a handkerchief.

"You guys are more capable than I assume," she said. "Now that you all found your maha points, your task is to move them to your ideal spot. The organ you most used usually arms, fingers, but that doesn't mean leaving other places of the body vacant.

"Keep in mind, a complete even cycle throughout the body is the key."

"But how do we create one?" Anton asked.

"You will know it after relocating the vortex a few times." Sophia smiled. "Remember the two hundred numbers—I said, were just a figure for the lowest level of full-body armament. It would take you a month or two to get there, but that's not the destination, it's only the beginning. You have to learn to instinctively move those tiny vortexes around your mana circuit. For instance, if someone attacks you at the heart, you need to create a stronger coating placing in more Maha points around the heart."

Wrik frowned. This thing was more complicated than he thought. First, create over two hundred maha points, then distribute it all over the body according to your needs. Then learn to move those maha points around during battle to create more defensive barriers. They won't even have more than a second during the battle, and their opponent won't give them time to prepare, either. So Wrik could guess how tough it would be to learn that.

"Lady Sophia, How long would it take to do that?" Anton asked again.

"It varies, actually. Some take two to three years, while some about six to ten, and there were those that never succeed," Sophia said. "It's never easy to push the Armament Reinforcement to master level, not to talk about talent, it takes immense hard work for that."

"How long did it take you to master it?" Anton asked further.

Sophia eyed Anton, who seemed genuinely curious. "It took me about four years," she said. She thought for a moment to add, "That's because I never had a teacher to guide me."

"Four years," Anton repeated. He seemed not to have heard the later part of what Sophia said. "You said you're here in the tower for 9 years, so your armament must have reached an even higher realm."

Sophia did not answer, only smiled. "Enough small talk. It isn't time to ponder over it now. Your current task is to move those maha points, and during that learn how to create one. If you're still confused about how to create a circling channel throughout your body, you can just follow your veins and the bone joints."

With that, the ten of them turned on their training mode again.
