Broken Tower Saga: The First Swordsman

Chapter 79: Before the Test (1)

Wrik and others followed their gaze at the source of the voice and found some fellows with the white uniform of Omega Council. The leading one, the one that voiced out, was someone all of them recognised. It was the guide, Harakatz Bolvin. While behind him were two more fellows, one man and another woman, Wrik did not recognise the man, but he had seen the woman in the medical ward. She was the one in charge of the medical facility. The one who took care of An Byul.

"You guys would venture the tower in three days," Harakat said in contempt. "Did we grow so low?"

"It was not my fault. . ." Anton whispered, but stopped at the glare from the guide.

"All of you will pay for the damage," he said, eyeing them. "And as for the punishment, all of you who are involved in the conflict would be banned from the mission board and Omega store for the rest of the trial."

"Crap," cursed Davin from behind. He did even get to take part in the conflict, yet he was getting the punishment for it.

But he was not the only one to voice out complaints. The silk-clothed youth voiced out again. "Inquisitor Harakatz, you can't do this to me."

''Shut up," Harakatz did not even listen to the youth. "I can do whatever I want here. I'm the manager of this place."

"But."

Harakatz eyed the silk-clothed man. "I should make a call to your father, Theiron. With this amount of arrogance and stupidity, your father should not have sent you out so soon."

The silk clothed youth Theiron sucked a cold breath hearing that. His face was still unconvinced, but he did not say anything else.

"We're done here," Harakatz said. He noticed the white clothed woman that came with him was taking care of the fellas on the ground. "Let them suffer, Sheala. It's the only way they would understand. No treatment to anyone who is involved in the conflict."

The healer, Sheala, seemed to still want to heal the guys on the floor, even after the order from her boss. But she could only comply as she heard him say:

"Let's go."

The three people with authority left, leaving the wreckage in the cafeteria. In place, a few others came, though they were not that masculine or elegant as they were in charge of cleaning the mess. The newcomers did not even glance at fellas who were on the ground or the ones that put them on the ground. They invested in their job like any other normal day.

"We're quite royally screwed," Davin said, looking at Anton.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Anton snorted. "It's not my fault."

"Then whose it is?" Davin almost yelled.

"I may have started the wreckage here, but the one that caused it is none other than our lucky star Michelle the flame girl."

Michelle fumed hearing that nickname, and punched Anton in the face, but before she could connect, Anton ducked. "How's this my fault? Did I get those hoodlums, showing off?"

"But they came for you."

"And that is my fault?" the redhead sneered at Anton.

Anton could not put that blame on Michelle either, it's not her fault she was attractive. Then he heard a threatening voice.

"You all will regret this," Theiron, who regained his arrogance after the manager left, said out loud. "I'll make sure everyone of you regrets entering the tower, in the test three days from now."

"It was my mistake. Flame girl isn't at fault," Anton said, gesturing at Theiron. "It's all this guy's fault. If he could control his bitches, none of this would have happened."

Anton was about to make a move on the silk clothed fellow, but Davin caught him before that. Causing another ruckus here might ban them from the rest of the facility.

"Let's eat first, you make enough fuss already," Wrik said as he gazed at the corner of the cafeteria where an empty table of six was held. It was in a better condition than the rest.

The seven of them moved to the specific table in the lead of Wrik, who brought another chair and sat on the wide end of the table.

"Have you guys eaten?" Wrik asked the others. He continued seeing them shaking their heads. "Well, then let's have a meal together." His eyes moved to the only injured fellow of the group. Jacob's face was still ugly, swollen with purple, black beating marks. "Ton, go see if you could have some ice, and order the meal. . ."

Anton did not refuse and brought the archer with him inside where the stuff of the cafeteria was. After fifteen minutes, they came back, bringing a stroller of food. Anton did the work and served the meals to everyone before sitting down.

"I have to say this hamburger thing is a bliss in this sanctuary," Wrik said, biting a rather large portion of the ham. "I wish we had it in Elania."

"I wish we will be able to eat in the tower as well," Anton said, nodding.

"Don't worry, you can get it in the tower," Byul said. In the past week, she had fully recovered, and joined them in the training, though she had a couple of week's backlogs to clear.

"Oh, I forgot you used to live in the residential area of the tower. The Place called Gala, if I'm not wrong." Anton said.

Byul nodded and returned to her food.

"After the trial on the first floor, I think we can go to Gala," Wrik said, looking at the short-haired girl. "Do you miss the place?"

"No," Byul only said one word. Even though she said only a single word, her behaviour showed she did not want to talk about it.

Wrik signed awkwardly.

''Before talking about Gala, we should discuss the trial first,'' Davin said. "I think we are screwed, losing the opportunity from the Omega store."

"Why?" Wrik and Anton asked at the same time. After losing all their points at the Omega store, they had not entered there once.

"So you guys have no idea about the trial," Davin said. "You should be aware all the tests we faced till now, are child's play compared to the actual test of the tower."

"You got a point there, Davin" Wrik nodded, and the others agreed as well.

Seeing everyone's approval, Davin continued. "Before Lady Sophia left, she told us to earn as many points as we can from the mission board. Do you know why?"

"Is it related to the test we will face?"

"Yes," Davin continued. "Apparently, a special section will be opened at the Omega store tomorrow for the ones that would take part in the test. I heard some important stuff will be sold off there that will be crucial to the trial, and you can only buy stuff with the point you earned from the mission board."

"What?" Anton said out loud. "I had like 47000 credits from the mission board. Will it all go to waste?"

"Afraid so."
