Calla Lily, The Eunuch King's Goblin Bride

Chapter 43 - Invasion In Dreams

It's so dark in here, no ray of hope could be seen not even a daring peek. But where I am?

I felt myself laying on a cold stone maybe an oblivion rock, but how come I suddenly arrived here?

I stretched my hand in air in order to grab something hard in the midst of visible darkness and the hounds of evilness.

I felt as if I woke up in the middle of the night in a jungle with memories of a horrific sight, wolves of betrayal perhaps, all around me, ready to rip me off the hope.

My heart raced faster, beating heavily against the ribcage. Moisture began to fill in my eyes as I silently started to murmur prayers to God.

My lips quivered and I pleaded for mercy to the sky for a sympathetic ray of light to fill me with hope and to give me sight to see what's ahead of me.

"Thee came in my dreams again."

My pupils moved a little when I heard a faraway voice. A velvety raspy male voice, I tried to figure out what he was saying.

But due to darkness all around me I could not even imagine who or what was speaking, I felt myself trapped in a bubble of nightmarish energy and don't know why my heart responded fiercely that I was stranded there,  forever.

"Thee came in my dreams again."

The voice pricked my ears again, out of curiosity I wanted to look around for his face. But it seemed my eyes were heavier and unable to glance at anything.

"Thee come in my dreams again; touched me in places where night used to appease; remember my thirst was never quenched when thee lit the fires in those forgotten lakes; the darkness knew me well; until thee came like a sweet celebration; beware of the potions of love; leave me not tonight my poet;"

The words seemed familiar, even the voice had a similarity to someone but my heart was terrified and mind got poisoned with fright.

"Potions? Lake? Poet?"

I seemed to recognize the words as if I heard them before, somewhere from someone who is willing to help.

It was the only thing I feared, the sole weakness of mine, trained in strictest atmosphere and for every circ.u.mstance, the powerful Goblin princess only feared darkness.

"Aahhhh…..no! Why am I here? Someone is out there? Help me please."

I shouted and screamed loudly, as loud as I could, my voice resonated in that bubble and bounced back, that I had to cover my ears to prevent listening to my own screams.

So this was a bad idea, totally fruitless effort to call someone for help or at least to provoke the man or beast to show up.

Tears crawled down on my cheeks immediately as I hid my head in between knees by bringing t.h.i.g.hs closer to my b.r.e.a.s.ts.

I cried, afraid of the black ink around me, I sobbed silently and only my muffled sobs along with the uneven heartbeat echoed in that endless void.

"S-someone h-help me...please take me out."

I pleaded, for help, for mercy. My state was pitiful and miserable, what if someone was here to pull me out of this state.

Yes, I wanted a saviour, a knight in shining armour to save this damsel in distress. I wished I hadn't gone to that cave, If I had heed the words of my father and desisted to wander in that enchanted area.

"Beware! it is all an illusion, play with reasons and go by judgements. Do not let things blind your sight and numb your senses. Beware!"

That husky voice chipped again, this time loudly like a rumbling of someone's thunderous arrival. The energy bubble began to shake within which I was confined to.

The energy all around me within the bubble dissipated and the visibility of energy waves began to take a defined form.

At first I was trapped into that bubble but now it took the form of a cage, a bird cage precisely. No doubt I was already a prisoner of King Theon but now I was caged in my own nightmares!

"What? N-no let me out. No...please."

I tried to stop the energy-efficient waves to take another form, another cage. I waved my hands in an unidentified manner.

"What is there to be beware off? Is anyone out there?"

I yelled in a demanding tone, my throat became dry and I felt like I swallowed a hard lump, that got stuck in my c.h.e.s.t.

"Beware! Beware! Keep your eyes open! Beware!"

The voice was heard again and the instructions given to be fell into my ears like a lightning bolt.

Still it was darkness all around me and it was of no use to panic to look around for someone, as the ink of darkness had already engulfed everything.

A ray emerged, like a laser beam, close by my magically created energy cage. The red ray appeared as a single circle at first then it became duplicitous.

The two circles were previously at my level of body but then it went high above my neck that I had to stare at the activity while standing below.

"Beware!"

The circles enlarged in an almond shape and seemed like someone's eyes!

Those red demonic orbs sent shivers down my spine, I took the courage to stand up earlier but seeing those demon eyes penetrating through my soul, my confidence crumbled down.

"W-what!?"

I ebbed while my widened stare never left those orbs and I fell into that cage with a thump hurting my head. As soon as I fell hard on my h.i.p.s, the shadowy reddish sockets disappeared.

I could feel pain, but that was a dream. Yes, only my imagination and just a dream. Then how my head was spinning?

"No, I have to stand up for myself. I have to escape from this void and his words…..what does it even mean?"

My spinning head became occupied with many thoughts but there was one thing I became sure off, quite certain.

I was that marvellous moon whose present is a black night, yet we are connected for now and neither could be neglected, but from that sombre darkness I will shine bright.
