Catch a Tiger by the Tail

83 Fairy Healing Part 2

Opening the draw strings, and ignoring the theatrics of the Queen, She gazed into the cool reflective surface within the bag. Sparkles of color danced across the center of the water, flashing different colors in the dark. Reaching in, Kyera let the leather bag fall away as she focused her shadows around the water, forming a ball between her palms. She carefully swirled the water between her hands, manipulating it to her will as she moved it to the wound.

The Lion opened its eyes, looking up at her, sensing the magic approaching the wound. The servants and the Princess watched in awe as Kyera began swirling the water through the wound. Wherever the water touched, the blackened flesh became pink and healthy again. Once she had finished, a few meer moments later, Kyera dipped her hands and the ball into the bowl provided for her hands previously. All the blackened filth that had been pulled from the wound was left in the plain water, but the fairy ball stayed in her hands.

The Fairy pair flew forward and held the bag open for Kyera to carefully lower the ball back into, the magic sparkle of the water still swirling and dancing. The draw swings pulled tight captured the water once again. The Lion's breathing was deeper now, as the wound was no longer burning with venom still soaked into the tissues.

"That's better isn't it, sweet boy." Kyera whispered soothingly as seh gently brushed her hand over the lion's neck. The fur was soft and damp from the exertion the last few hours had placed on his system. He chuffed a soft response and Kyera smiled knowing the gratitude in his voice that no one else could truly understand. The Queen shifted to look at the wound, confused by what she had missed during her little proformance. Once again, she drew Kyera's annoyance to herself.

"Queen Fae, your grace, please do not put so much pressure on him. It will make the bleeding worse." Kyera advised with a gentle tone. There was a certain edge to her voice. The control she exerted not to respond to the theatrics was… astounding. If she could get away with it, Kyera wouldn't have even attempted to restrain herself. Women like this caused her no end of anger.

The Queen nodded and moved back quickly, petting the Lion's head from nose to ears over and over again. The flick of the great cat's tail made Kyera's heartache for him. She knew the posture of a great cat trying to endure. That was the only way she could describe the posture of the lion before her. His pain was lessened though so at least that was one less stress on him. Unfortunately, they were in no position to do anything more than advise Queen Fae.

Mally wasn't sure what she was seeing as she moved closer, between the Queen kneeling beside Rasha with tear trails on her cheek though she had shed all the tears she could force. Raina and Kyera cleaning blood from the lion and The Second Prince watching as his niece and this woman took care of his father's pet seeming contented with his situation.
