"Pests." the little girl muttered with absolutely no emotions in her eyes. Her eyes were empty and cold. No sparkle like a normal kid her age would have. Yes, she was Wei Zhan.

She had already taken care of the weak goons. 

She had a rough history. According to the sage who raised her, she was abandoned by her parents in front of a river. That is where the sage found her and took her in. The first two years of her life was really hard as she would only stare quietly and not eat anything properly. A baby is supposed to cry when she got hungry or got hurt, but this little fellow acted like she was a statue who felt nothing. After a week of not eating anything, the sage figured out that she had different constitution and only absorbed spiritual power. Human food was useless for her. From then on, the sage transferred spiritual power to her everyday. 

The kind sage was not just anyone. He was the legendary Stone Sage Yaoling. One of the most famous spiritual power user and the one after whom Yao Kingdom was named. No one could guess how old he was. Some people even assumed that he was a friend of the mountain spirit. Only a few people ever got to see him up close. 

The first time Sage YaoLing saw her abandoned beside the river, he knew she was special. By the way she glowed. By the way every snake in her surrounding was bowing down to her and how balanced his emotions felt just with a look at her. That is when Sage Yao Ling decided to adopt her and teach her everything he knows. 

For years he raised her, taught her everything he knew. Although her detached nature did make him sad, but deep down he knew how much she cared about him. He was content with Wei Zhan calling him "Grandfather" once in a while and asking him to teach her something new. In a short time Wei Zhan was already Master Stage 1. Her growth was freaking even for the legendary sage who was a grandmaster level 2. This little brat was going to surpass him in a short period and she was only six!

What was more freaky was that her spiritual pool was immense! How could she fill up her pool that soon and level up. This was just inhumane! But then again, Yao Ling never considered her human. He already knew that she was something different. 

When Wei Zhan turned seven, a weird mark appeared on her c.h.e.s.t. Right on the middle. It was something like a scale. It was very light and small. And within a few days, a light came out of the mark and a little boy appeared. She was still unfazed. However, the sage was absolutely horrified. 

Who is this stinky brat and what was he doing around his precious grand daughter? But seeing Wei Zhan calm and unfazed he decided to keep quiet. Wei Zhan never told him anything about her. A normal person would assume that she was just a baby when she was abandoned, how could she tell you anything about her life? But that was not the case. Wei Zhan was really m.a.t.u.r.e and almost seemed like an a.d.u.l.t in a baby's body. Yao Ling still never judged or pressurised her to tell him anything. He just kept being a doting grandfather and master. 

When the little boy appeared in front of Wei Zhan, she calmly looked at him with a light smile and said, "You are here."

"Su Won is here, Mistress." the little boy smiled warmly at her. 

"But I am small because your powers are not strong enough yet. I will not be able to cultivate until you reach Grandmaster Level 3." Su Won said. 

"Mmh. When are the others coming?" Wei Zhan gently asked. 

"Ze Shi at Grandmaster Level 1 and Bao at Level 2." Su Won answered. 

"Seems like I need to gain power fast for them to walke up. Let's cultivate in the spirit world." Wei Zhan whispered. But only a small whisper was enough for Su Won to understand her mistress's orders. He quicky opened a portal to the spirit world. Wei Zhan looked back at her flabbergasted grandfather who was looking at her with wide eyes. 

"You are still my grandfather. I will be back in a few days." Wei Zhan lightly smiled at him and stepped into the portal. The portal soon vanished into thin air. 

This was the first time the little girl had smiled at him. Their relationship was quite simple. They lived in the mountains beside the big river. None of them liked to interact with other humans. Yao Ling taught her martial and spiritual arts. Although Wei Zhan seemed to know these beforehand, she always accepted whatever Yao Ling taught her. This way, Wei Zhan had a place to hide while she was still weak and Yao Ling could fulfill his dream of having a grand daughter.

But that day's scene made Yao Ling realise that she was already someone beyond his reach. He was not worthy of being her grandfather or master. She was the mistress of Su Won! Su Won the Libra familiar. Although zodiac teachings were rare in Yao Kingdom, but the powerful people knew about them. And the mistress of Su Won meant being the mistress of Ze Shi and Bao, the familiars of Virgo and Scorpio. It was all written in the ancient scriptures in the Spirit Mountain only he had access to. He felt ashamed of himself. He was trying to teach her what he knew? How embarassing. He felt broken and little. But then he heard her say that he was still her grandfather with a smile. It the first time she smiled at him, but it warmed him up immediately and ousted out all the negative emotions inside him.
