Ivy woke to cold bed sheets as usual she rolled over craving Noah's cologne and warmth. Noah had left for some business trip, he had been away a few days now. Suppose business doesn't even stop at Christmas.

Ivy stretched remembering it was her turn to host the new year's celebrations. She couldn't use her old apartment as Noah had cancelled her lease. She couldn't very well have it here as it was Noah's apartment and he didn't like others in his space and she had to agree. Ivy had never even met the cleaner.

Ivy was deciding what to do when she remembered Thomas he was probably standing outside. Although he would refuse to come in, she needed his help and that would be the only time he would enter Noah's apartment. Ivy went to the door and Thomas was there in his usual black suit attire.

"Thomas, come in and help."

"No problem. So what's the issue?" Thomas entered the apartment and followed Ivy to the living room.

"It's my turn to host New Year's with my two friends and I have no place to have it. It's usually my house and I cook if it's my turn but I can't have it here. So help me phone places." Ivy sat with her head in her hands looking a bit desperate.

Thomas took every job given to him seriously and helped Ivy ring around bars and restaurants that may have space. But everywhere was booked up with it being New Years.

Sighing Ivy was about to give up. Thomas looked at a defeated Ivy and texted Aiden, as Noah would most likely be busy. Soon he got a reply from Aiden and Thomas smiled.

"Settled you can have your New year's celebration at Sakura."

"Let me guess Noah owns it." lifting her head from the sofa she looked at Thomas.

"Ehh..." Thomas looked away hiding his guilt.

"Great." Ivy gave up and went with the flow.

Ivy texted her friends the time and venue. As it was a few hours away Thomas left the apartment and Ivy took her time getting a bath and getting ready.

As it was New year she picked out a dress. It was a sparkly embellished red dress with long sleeves and it was a bit low cut. Ivy let her long wavy hair down and did her signature red lip and eyeliner makeup.

Checking the time she grabbed her friends gifts and headed out. Meeting Thomas at the door. They left with plenty of time.

Inside Sakura, they had a private room to themselves. Thomas sat beside Ivy as he felt Noah would prefer he sat beside her rather than her two male friends. Thomas kept in contact with Aiden and kept him informed whenever he did anything with Ivy.

Ivy heard the door and saw her two friends she stood smiling and hugged them both. They then sat opposite Ivy.

"This place is amazing Ivy how did you get in?."

"Eh, a close new friend."

"Are you dating Ivy and not telling us?." Her two friends started the interrogation early.

Ivy thought for a bit then answered truthfully.

"No date? no... we haven't been on a date."

Which Ivy thought was true. Noah hadn't brought her out anywhere and she didn't mind as he was always busy with work and their relationship was still unclear. She didn't know how long it would last or when they would get sick of each other.
