Cold Hearted Devil Fell In Love

Chapter 45 - Do You Love Him?

"Good afternoon."

Aiden nodded at the two and welcomed them into Noah's office.

Noah sat behind his large mahogany desk, he had a laptop and a lot of other documents on his desk. Seeing Ivy's friends he put down his pen and waited for them to enter his office. Noah was curious as to why he would suddenly be visited by Ivy's friends and did Ivy know they where here he wondered.

"Sit." One word from Noah and Jamie and Pierce sat like a dog would when he hears his owners commands.

"Eh...Noah I mean Mr Adler sir we are just here as we are....". Pierce started and then looked at Jamie. Pierce was the quieter of the two and relied on Jamie to start the conversation.

"Concerned we are concerned...we don't want Ivy hurt again. We don't want her to be labelled as a gold digger or a mistress or for her to feel that she deserves those words." Jamie finished as quickly as possible.

"Yes and Ivy deserves the best which I'm sure you can grant but others may be cruel with there words so... so if you're not one hundred per cent all about Ivy... Please let her go." Pierce used up all his courage and although he said it quickly Noah heard every word. Pierce let out a breath when he was done and stared at his legs.

Jamie and Pierce had finished their monologue and Noah had sat and listened to the whole thing before commenting. Noah applauded their courage to come to him on Ivy's behalf. Noah was sure Ivy didn't ask them too though.

"I don't invest my time on something I don't want one hundred per cent off." Noah reigned in his impatient for this conversation and spoke in his deep cello voice.

Jamie and Pierce looked at each other. Then Pierce looked at Noah. "Can you keep her happy and safe?." This was Jamie's original worry, he wanted Ivy to be happy above all.

Jamie then added. "What about the things people will say about her? She looks tough but she's like marshmallow inside.... all fluff."

Noah just stared at Ivy's friends if anyone else approached Noah like this and dared to question him they would have met a horrible fate. Yet he had patience with them as Ivy loved them like family. Noah didn't want to continue this conversation though as he new there concerns where valid and that is why his lover is kept from the public.

"In this world, I will only have Ivy and she has all of me...Aiden time Ivy's friend left to show them out."

"But". Jamie wanted more of a definitive answer from Noah.

"My patience has run out if you weren't Ivy's friends...Aiden."

"Yes sir." Aiden felt sorry for the two, he knew they were doing what they felt was best for Ivy but his boss was very possessive and challenging him could only lead to getting hurt.

Meanwhile, Noah thought of something and he turned on his laptop after clicking some buttons he waited.

Jamie and Pierce were shown out of Noah's office and they were in a daydream until they reached outside and they stood on the side of the road. A taxi stopped and they both got in.

Ring ring

Jamie was still in a daze but he managed to answer his phone and heard Ivy's voice.

"Hey, guys I forgot to ask you when do you want to do drinks next?".

She sounded cheerful so Jamie regretted that he had to ask her. "Ivy do you love him... be because if you don't, leave him you will be in trouble and only get hurt. It'll end worse than Cole. There will be no turning back. He seems so possessive of you."

"Seems possessive? What happened?." Ivy's voice turned cold.

"Nothing nothing he was fine I mean nothing I'm just saying after our conversation earlier I just wondered."

"You saw him, why do you sound funny? Did he threaten you?."

"No no no, just.... only stay if you love him." Jamie stuttered about getting caught.

"He did, didn't he." Ivy new her two friends well by now if they were saying this then they have gone to see Noah on her behalf.

"Ivy answers me I don't want you to end up like last time. It wasn't even worth it back then as you weren't even in love but if you are this time I'll give my blessing and not question you again."

After a long minute, Ivy took a breath and said the words she felt but didn't dare to say out loud especially to Noah. "I love him."

She was afraid that if he knew she loved him he would get rid of her. They never did serious conversations and the three little words could be devastating to their perfect relationship.

"Gotta go Ivy."

Ivy sat on the sofa in Noah's apartment her friends knew about her relationship and was concerned about her. They took their concerns to Noah but it sounded like he threatened them. Ivy got upset at Noah's behaviour with her friends. They were there for her when no one else was. They stood up for her, looked after her when she had lost everything.

Thinking this she got angry, in impulse she stomped up to the door and in her haste, she knocked against a figurine that sat on the shoe rack. pinking up the figurine she hoped wasn't worth millions she saw a small black object. She picked it up and inspected it, it was a listening device. When and why had it been installed.

She thought that this was her home not somewhere she would be spied on. Now her anger had risen, was he listening now. Did he hear her confession? She took the device in her hand and approached the door, flinging the listening device at Thomas.

"Tell your boss if he's not here in half an hour I will leave and he will never see me again." Ivy slammed the door.

Thomas was left with his mouth open. Ivy never raised her voice and was always pretty easy going. Thomas cursed and looked at the device, he rang Aiden.

"Aiden..."

"Boss heard we are on our way."

Thomas stood and looked at the time hoping Noah would come back in quickly.
