Cold Hearted Devil Fell In Love

Chapter 92 - Dead Weight

Ivy meant business. Many of them had been gaping at her, a few mouths agape, when she got out of the lift and swayed her hips to the meeting room, her hair fluttering in the wind. When she strutted to the meeting room and swiped her private key card, she was well aware of everyone's stares. Thomas and Nathan followed behind Ivy enjoying the inquisitive stares.

Her Father and Cole were having a meeting about the next three months projects. They were going through a few documents for the upcoming shareholders meeting when the door to the meeting room was pushed open without warning.

Cole lifted his head first, ready to chew the intruder's head off until his eyes landed on Ivy. His eyes bulged out of his head, his mouth opened in shock, a baffled expression on his face. She was breathtaking and he felt like he was transported to a few years back when she was full of life and worked alongside him.

"I'm back, did you miss me?" She smiled her eyes sparkled with humour and she dumped the documents in her hand on the desk with a thump.

"You...how, huh...why?" He could not form a coherent sentence. He wanted her to come back, he wanted her he had missed her once she was gone.

Lauren was a misunderstanding, a huge mistake. He had only gotten together with Lauren because she was easy, she gave him what his body needed at the time. But his heart and mind are all about Ivy. Was this his second chance?

Didn't Laurens naked photos and scandal don all the tabloids headlines and internet posts this morning, reports of her illicit deeds soon followed like a tsunami of bad press and keyboard warriors had exposed everything.

Cole had thrown her out of his apartment that morning, he had no idea she was sleeping around with other powerful men and it had disgusted him. How could he have chosen her over Ivy he didn't know, he blamed her seduction techniques and Ivy's unwillingness to even let him kiss her.

He knew rationally that she was with CEO Noah Adler now and wise enough to know he should not mess with Noah Adler. He could have him killed and disposed of without even lifting a finger. But he was not afraid of the consequences anymore. He had allowed her to slip out of his fingers once, he would not allow for it again.

Ivys father stood up and walked around the table to grey his daughter. He had asked her to return to work but he never thought that she actually would. This was his business but he wanted his only daughter by his side. If that meant her ruffling some feathers and firing a few members of staff he would happily let her. He just wanted his daughter back.

"Ivy... I'm so delighted to see you here again. Does this mean your back?"

"Yes I am returning to work but it will be consulting and not full time." Her father's heart dimmed but then he thought that this was still progress so he smiled again and ushered her to take a seat. Once she did he returned to his chair.

Thomas and Nathan put down the piles of documents upon seeing her take a seat opposite her father and Cole they sat also, flanking each other on both sides.

With both men at her side, she sat up and revealed a different side to herself. Her eyes became fierce and her aura was that of a powerful businesswoman.

She reminded Thomas of an alpha tigress talking on the rest of the jungle, fearless and proud. He wanted Noah to see her like this, even he would be table back by her quick change in demeanour.

"These projects to my right are losing us millions of dollars, they are shoddily run by incompetent management and we need to cut the dead weight. I propose we terminate these projects as of immediately."

Cole lifted the pile of documents, every single one he had managed and had approved himself. He was in disbelief that she would terminate them so easily and quickly. His mouth opened to speak but Ivy interrupted.

"The pile to my left are business projects that are failing but can be salvaged and even given a boost with some changes. I have written a detailed proposal for each one. Next, we have a small pile in front of me. I had started these projects and they have kept us afloat but their true potential was stalled by our company not giving them enough backing and investment. I have also written a proposal to ensure further development."

Thomas was proud and grinned beside her. Cole looked shell shocked by her words. Thomas knew he was a useless man bu he didn't know how useless until now. He had slowly run her fathers business into the ground.

Nathan sat back and got out the proposals for the first project, he placed it in front of Ivys father and sat back down. Completely ignoring the incompetent Cole.

As she pointed and laid out all his faults and mismanagement he started to break out in a cold sweat he didn't want this to go this way. She was supposed to stay behind the scenes and do as he said. He forgot she was business savvy and had helped her gather for years. Whereas he relied on her projects just to get by these past few years.

"We can't just terminate those projects are all started by me over the past two years." He scrunched up the contracts in his hand, he was unwilling to let her take over like this.

A cold deadly aura radiated off her body. "And that is exactly why they failed, they were not good investments with little prospects or growth. In other words dead weight... Just like."

Her father seeing where this was headed wanted to calm things down so he spoke up to ease the tension.

"Cole lets go with Ivys recommendation, for now, she has never invested in a poor project or lost us money."
