Chapter 2 - Basics

'Okay Ben, now you're gonna go out there and show these…..come to think of it I don't know what to call them, but you are going to show them just how nice and pleasant you can be. After that….Maybe they won't kill you? I dunno, best idea we have so far though so go with it!'

The wheels of Ben's mind span quickly as he tried to come to terms with the very new surroundings and environment he found himself in.

Thankfully the fierce glow from the pentagram he was stood upon was gradually dimming itself. This allowed Ben to finally get a firm grasp on the other entities surrounding him.

Aside from the kind looking little one in front of him with Silver hair the other creatures seemed much more….intense to Ben. Their eyes, were much darker. Not their color, but the emotions running just underneath the surface. While he may have never been the most intelligent, or empathetic person Ben was quite good at reading people.

With a small breath to give himself some comfort Ben raised his head and focused on the little silver hair in front of him. 'Who knows, maybe this kid is my new "master" or some other generic bullshit.'

"Hello"

Ben called simply to the young creature in front of him. He painted a small kind smile on his face hoping desperately it would put his new 'friend' at ease.

It should be noted, that Ben felt not trust towards any of these entities. They had, more or less, ripped his newly completed hopes and dreams out of his hands. If that wasn't enough to inspire world shattering levels of enmity, then what was?

But he sadly could not dwell on these facts. Much like with how life normally works, he would smile and play nice for as long as possible. Waiting. Waiting was always quite easy for Ben.

The Silver hair in front seemed to register Ben attempting to speak to itself and it began to smile widely, much to Ben's benefit.

Looking behind the small Silver couldn't help but yell to those that were, until just recently, heckling it. "I told you guys! I summoned something! For real this time!" His excitement was palpable, and it was already causing quite the stir in the surrounding area.

Ben looked towards the crowd and he could spot an older creature moving closer to him. The creature looked much like an old Wizard. Long White hair, cool beard, and the staff. It all came together to pull of the 'Mysterious Headmaster' vibe.

"G..Gellis you did it! You actually managed someone something…and it's even sentient!" The man smiled widely at the little silver haired Gellis with pride bursting in his c.h.e.s.t. Young Gellis had been a summoning apprentice here for quite a few years, if he had not met with some success soon he would have been sent away, and the headmaster simply couldn't have that. The boys Mother was sufficiently scary to make even him lock his door at night.

Now while all of this was quite nice for the two of them, the summoned being in question was far less happy. "What do you mean I was summoned." He called out accusingly.

The headmaster and Gellis both turned to him in shock. "Gellis, can it…can it hear us?"

The silver haired turned to his mentor alarm written on his face. "I'm…no it shouldn't be able to. I already checked it's memories it doesn't speak our language so…."

He trailed off as he turned to catch a glimpse of Ben's bright red face. "What the f.u.c.k do you mean 'Can it hear us?' you old f.u.c.khead? Clearly I can hear you two jackasses muttering over there like the gormless idiots you are. Now if you would be so kind as to simply tell me where the f.u.c.k I am, and more importantly WHY!" He nearly screamed at them.

Ben's pulse was pounding against his neck. He tried desperately to grasp hold of himself, but he simply couldn't. Being calm and rational right now, that would certainly be for the best. This day though, this was far past the levels of absurd that Ben's mind was able to handle. In fact even reacting as harshly as he did made quite a bit of sense.

While being calm and collected is the better decision, who could honestly stay calm when life had just changed so completely.

While rationality was able to reign, he made sure to study the faces of the Headmaster and Gellis. Gellis smiled sweetly at him, and even looked like he made an effort to answer, it was the that old Gandolf looking mother f.u.c.ker that stopped him. Draping his staff ever so slowly in front of Gellis he stopped him.

The old Headmaster examined Ben many times, using both mundane and mystical means. This was an entity that was truly alien, and he was desperate to grasp onto it. Whenever humanoids were summoned it always meant something good. From the elf that was summoned and gave them Music, to the first time they found a Dwarf. Bipedal summons were, and are the most exciting.

"Tell me from where do you hail?" He asked. They already had quite a deal of information on the cosmos and multiverse sphere that they inhabited from their forays into Space Time Magic, but you never knew what insights these beings could add.

Ben simply narrowed his eyes and sat down refusing to speak. He didn't trust the greedy old man in front of him. He had seen users before. People with enough control in your life to manipulate you to however they wanted. They looked at you like a fish just about to bite onto a hook, those eyes so full of anticipation are always a danger.

He simply turned away from the old man and made unwavering eye contact with his new friend Gellis.

If Ben could look back on this moment he would realize how futile these actions were. His biggest, and most dangerous secret was already on display for the whole world to see, they simply didn't know that yet.
