Conquering The World With One Piece

Chapter 2 - Altering Fate...

Next morning, I was sweating, standing under the sun in a wide open field. My mom wanted to give me a preview of the training I'll go through for the next few years, before she left for Marineford today. She had prepared an obstacle course of sorts: filled with running, climbing, jumping, and crawling elements, for my training.

I had spent the entirety of last night training my body to actively switch in and out of my Logia form. Surprisingly, I was able to achieve almost perfect control just within just one night of training. I felt like it had to do something with my willpower stats being so much higher than the rest of my stats.

At the moment, I was tired from just doing one night of training. I was on the verge of being exhausted, and I had almost let some of my control on my Logia powers slip.

'Ahhh what do I do… this is so much harder than I thought… wait I can try that.'

I opened the illusion screen and commanded the system to increase all my stat points by two each.

All of a sudden, my body felt much stronger than what it was before; even my control over my Logia powers increased a substantial amount.

When my mom ordered me to start my next round, she was heavily surprised that I was able to complete it.

I thought that reducing the amount of time would be enough to fool my mom about my sudden improvement. But, little did I know that she'd already calculated the full extent of my physical abilities for the first time.

She thought I'd been deceiving her, and she immediately decided to increase the difficulty of her obstacle course.

Gasp… Gasp… no m-more…

"Finish the round quickly Leo, you still have 2 more rounds left and then we also have the melee combat training."

If I knew my mom, Momousagi, was such a training sadist, I might have never revealed her my d.e.s.i.r.e to be strong. The training got tougher; however, I gritted my teeth and continued due to the encouragement of a certain something.

[Through persistence in training, all stats have increased by 0.03]

After the training, I'd decided to take a nice hot bath to relax my muscles.

Hmmmmmm Hum… I hummed to the song 'Superpowers' from the One Piece OP.

'Ahhh… this is so relaxing…'

Due to being drowned in my One Piece nostalgia and the relaxing mood, I completely failed to notice a calamity approaching me.

Plop… Plop…

My mom elegantly walked into the bath house. She dropped her towel and smiled coyly at me as her voluptuous body was displayed in the full nude.

Gulp… my eyes widened from shock.

She washed her n.a.k.e.d body and big, enticing b.r.e.a.s.ts in my plain-view.

"M-mom, I'm already h-having a bath here…"

"Gee… my sweetie I know; now don't tell me you want to have your baths alone as well!"

She said as she entered the bath with me. Before I could say anything, she used her long slender arms to start scrubbing each part of my body.

'Noo, I need to stop this… She's related to me by blood man,' I thought as I attempted to push my mom's hands away from me.

Instead of her being pushed away, she came closer and hugged me tightly instead. The tip of her soft, squishy t.i.t.s touched my chess, resulting in my mind exploding from a plethora of experiences.

I no longer had any energy left to prevent my mom from doing anything...

**

In a private booth at the Ragako Inn, two women were drinking and having an intense face-off at a game of chess.

Tup, Momousagi made a move against Louise.

"Hmmm, this game looks like it would be close… and Louise, you should come talk to me more often than you do."

"Tehehehe… I wouldn't want to disturb your Marine duties more than I'm already. Oh, and how was your son's training session today."

Momousagi befriended Louise back when she first settled in the town of Ragako. Later Momousagi realized that Louise was a former pirate. But she didn't mind it at all; in fact, she offered Louise to stay in her house if she wanted.

"Oh… his training speed is really impressive. While I'm not sure about his diligence, his talent is the best I've ever seen too."

Momousagi's face formed a broad smile as she thought about Leo.

"Oh my, I bet… He's related to you after all."

Momousagi held her head high with pride at the compliments to her son. However, her mood suddenly dampened; and she said,

"Sigh… While he's a great talent, I can't stay with him that often. Ever since my promotion to Vice Admiral, the duties have been very heavy. Huh… I am such a bad mother… even after I promised I'll fulfil his every need.

Louise formed a tight-lipped smile on her face when she heard Momousagi mention 'I'll fulfil his every need', but she didn't comment anything about it.

Tup, amid their conversation, Louise made a move that completely crushed Momousagi's defence.

"Damn, why don't you ever let me win Louise…"

"Tehehehe, you still have a lot to learn Momousagi. Also, don't worry about Leo too much. He'll be fine and wait for you patiently. I'll make sure he'll be strong enough to receive your special training the next time you're back."

Momousagi stared at the chess board deeply, while her mind was occupied thinking about Leo, 'Leo, I'll be gone for some time… stay well and wait for me!'

On the same day, I was sitting in a garden, contemplating my next course of action. I had already bid farewell to my mom, but it didn't emotionally impact me all that much.

With a slight frown full of concentration, I opened my skills tab once again.

▷Skills

* You can select 3 skills from the One Piece world, like Haki. You're allowed to delete and add skills; however, 3 months minimum are required to delete a newly added skill.

'Now that I've the Rumble-Rumble fruit, I only need the Haki to truly become invincible,' a broad grin formed on my face, and I yelled,

"I want Haki!"

At the command of my voice, the illusive screen flickered and rebooted.

[Command acknowledged, user has been granted the complete control over Haki and all its subset powers.]

Suddenly, I could sense a mysterious power all around me. This was the power of Haki, lying dormant in every living person in the One Piece world.

My chin trembled, and I immediately used some of it to detect the life of a living human some distance away from me.

It worked for a few seconds before…. Tun… an intense pain filled my head.

Ahhh….! I fell to my knees from the pain and winced. I couldn't understand what failed; I used the powers in conjunction to the imprinted instructions in my mind. Why was I hurt so bad?

[Warning… User needs minimum: 20 Willpower, 15 perception for using Kenbunshoku Haki, 25 Willpower, 20 strength for using Armament Haki, ???? for Conqueror's Haki.]

After standing in a daze with a c.o.c.ked head for a solid minute, I yelled, "What the hell was that?! At least inform me if you were going to scam me anyway!"

Gasp… Gasp… After breathing deeply for a few seconds, I regained my previous composure. I decided to allot the rest of my skills a little later for now…

"I wonder what I could do for this though…" I muttered, glancing a little bit below the skills tab.

*Note that the more influence you'll have in the One Piece world, the more gifts you'll receive from Being X.

'Maybe I need to become someone influential or something to get gifts from this entity,' I furrowed my brows in deep thought.

Once I was done forming speculations about the words on the screen, I lifted off the ground with the powers of lightning. I wanted to test flying and explore the entirety of the island as well.

My first destination was, of course, the Shimotsuki Village a few miles away from the town of Ragako.

Zapp… I conducted myself though the air and flew in wide zig-zags movements, trying to control the speed of thunder.

With a huge… Thud… I landed right at the courtyard of Isshin's dojo. 'Huh… that was a little difficult.'

I calmed myself down after lamenting a little bit on the difficulty of controlling traveling at thunder speed. I tried to catch a glimpse of Zoro… I mean was there any other reason for me to go to Shimotsuki village.

"Ahh…! Who is it?!"

"It's not an a.d.u.l.t…"

"Is it another martial-arts challenger for us? I'm going to go this time!"

About 8 kids came running towards me with wooden katanas. They were wearing black kimonos with cross swords painted at their sleeves.

I sweated a little from the embarrassment of making such a ruckus and said, "Listen everyone… I'm not here to fig-"

Before I could declare my friendly intentions, one impatient looking kid charged at me with his wooden katana.

He swung his sword at me with a Swish…

Just when I was about to use my Logia intangibility or grab his katana with my b.a.r.e hands, Buzzz… I could see the electrical vibrations illuminate the exact trajectory of his swing.

'No wonder Kenbunshoku Haki is amplified so much with this fruit,' I narrowed my eyes with concentration at the electrical vibrations, using minimum movements to dodge the swing.

The boy's eyes froze from how easily his move was avoided. Before he could recover, Baam… I knocked him away with a quick punch.

"N-No way…! G-Guran was defeated so easily?"

"What do we do? T-The a.d.u.l.ts and Zoro are not here!"

The kids stepped back and gave me gave me darting glances full of fear.

"Let's all attack him together!"

Whoosh… The students dashed at me with their katanas. My eyes blinked in surprised, and I said, "How shameless… I thought you guys were trying to be swordsman!"

"Hmph… You're cheating too. You're fighting us without even bringing a katana. Isn't that a violation of the code of conduct for challenging our dojo?!"

After seeing another example of their shamelessness, I made sure to teach them a small lesson they'll remember.

Bammm… Booom… Thump… The remaining students were defeated quickly in a minute. They were lying beaten and bruised, glaring at me from a distance.

I just yawned at their glares and started walking away from the dojo. Without Zoro's presence, I didn't have any reason to be here anymore.

Right at that moment, a girl carrying a wooden katana walked towards me. She pointed her blade at me and waited for me to turn towards her.

The girl had short, dark blue hair and dark brown eyes. She wore a white sleeveless shirt and green pants.

'Swallow… Is that Kuina, childhood friend of Zoro,' I raised and curved my brows in surprise from the discovery. I figured that she was yet to die in the current timeline.

"Are you sure you want to fight me after seeing all your friends lying here beaten…? You'll meet the same fate."

Kuina smirked and answered, "Is that so? They're all weak and useless in my eyes though. Just grab a katana and fight me already!"

"You fiend Kuina! This woman really makes one angry!!"

"Just because she's the daughter of the dojo's sensei, she likes to show off and call us weak!"

"But she's a bit cute though…"

The dojo's students changed the attention of their hostility from me to Kuina. Though I was a little surprised from her lack of home support, I decided to honor her determination to fight me.

"I don't need a katana; prepare yourself!"

With a sigh, I charged at her to start this inevitable fight.

Swah… Thump… I sent in a flurry of punches at Kuina. She was barely able to dodge or block them with her katana, as I was able to predict her movements to some extent.

"Hahaha… You do know you have to attack me to beat me, right?"

"Smirk… Your reflexes are beyond ordinary, but you've never faced a true swordsman!"

In a moment, the tables were turned against me. She used the length of her katana to launch an attack to my shoulder joint at the last moment, while I was in a middle of a punch.

Kuina's attack was about to reach me first; however, I clicked my tongue and made parts of my body intangible.

Buzz… her attacks just grazed my clothes and fell through weakly.

Kuina's eyes froze when she didn't get the sweet feeling of a direct hit, and Bam… my punch hit her straight in the c.h.e.s.t to send her flying.

"W-What… Kuina actually lost?"

"S-She's never lost to anyone younger than her before!"

Soon Kuina teared up on the ground, and then ran away from the dojo's courtyard. While the rest of the students were hesitating on going after her and comforting her, I teleported away from the ground towards her figure.

Kuina was sitting on the stairs, staring at the ground with teary eyes. I took slow strides towards her, trying to come up with what to say.

Before I could say anything, she said, "You won easily, eh. Don't mind me, I'm just a little sad I lost. I'll recover soon enough."

"That's good to know…"

"You know, just yesterday; I'd made a vow with a boy to become the best swordsman in the world. I believed him when he said, it's willpower and skill that are more important than strength. And here I am… depressed over this fight. I can't help but wish I born a guy with strength like yours… you didn't even use any skills to beat me."

I nodded and said, "That friend of yours was right… Eventually, your willpower becomes the biggest strength in this world. Besides, I know a few women who could turn East-Blue sea upside down if they wished."

I closed my eyes, imagining the strength of Big Mom… and my own vice-admiral mom to some extent.

"How's that possible…? Dad said that women can never become the strongest!"

Kuina's eyes gleamed, staring at me impatiently for an answer.

I made eye contact with her and grinned confidently. "Hmmm... I may respect your dad's knowledge for improving your skills to this level, but does he truly know everything there is to this world?"

Zzzzzzz… Lightning started squiggling from my body, and I lifted from the ground.

"W-What's that…" Kuina said, her voice trembling from intense emotions. Her pupils dilated further from shock as she stared at me slowly drifting further and further from her.

"Don't make excuses for your losses, and always keep your eyes on your path!"

I rubbed my chin like a wise-old sage and gave an enigmatic smile to Kuina. Then, I 'mysteriously' teleported away from Shimotsuki village, away from her eyes.

Night fell upon the town of Ragako once again, and I was lying on my bed. Just when I was about to go to sleep…

[Kuina has avoided the fated day of her death… A total of 3 free attribute-points is awarded for your role in it.]

Huh… As expected, Kuina's fate altered because of my lucky intervention on the day of her death. Also, I guess altering people's fate tends to reward me with strength.

Now all I've to do is train hard and look for similar opportunities to cash in more attribute points…
