24. His Improper Feelings for You

“Don’t get angry,” Yan Chuyang straightened up and said in a nervous tone,” How about this. I have kissed you this morning and that could be counted as fulfillment of our contract so you don’t have to kiss me tonight. Is that OK?”

Wei Qing was silent for a moment, murmuring, “Are you sure?”

Hearing Wei Qing’s relaxation on the other side of the phone, Yan Chuyang sighed in a sad mood,” Yes, you don’t have to kiss me today.”

Wei Qing loosened his tie a little. He was pondering over the suggestion and thought that it seemed a reasonable proposal, so he said. “Sure.”

Yan Chuyang held his phone tightly, “Then you are not mad at me now.”

Wei Qing replied with a soft “hmm”, and added, “I won’t be angry if I don’t have to kiss you at night.”

Hearing his words, Yan Chuyang’s heart felt a prick. Although he knew Wei Qing didn’t really like him, he never knew he hated him to such extent.

The boy rubbed his knees and said glumly, “Don’t worry. There will be no kiss today.”

Wei Qing agreed without saying anything.

After a while, Yan Chuyang carefully asked, “Where are you now?” He sounded quite busy because there was always sounds of keyboards on the other side of the phone.

“I’m working,” Wei Qing curtly answered.

Noticing his perfuctoriness, Yan Chuyang didn’t have the mood to continue the talk, so soon he hung up the phone after saying goodbye.

When he arrived at school, it was over eight.

Yan Chuyang didn’t have class since it was weekend, but he was the president of school’s Comics and Animation Club, so he had to deal with the club business.

April was always the busiest month for evey club because there would be a competition among all the clubs. Besides, the Comics and Animation Club had to prepare for a costume play on its opening day.

Hence, the whole April would be the busiest period for Yan Chuyang.

“Chuyang, why are you so late?” Wei Yuan came over the moment Yan Chuyang entered the club office.

Wei Yuan was also one of the members of the Comics and Animation Club, but the reason why he joined in this club was for his likings for comics while Yan Chuyang did that for his affection for comic painting.

“What’s wrong?” Yan Chuyang looked at the empty office, frowning, “Today is a meeting day, isn’t it? Where are our members?”

Wei Yuan answered with his palms up, ” All went out for sponsorship.”

“Sponsorship?” Yan Chuyang was confused, “Why? Our school will give us some money for our activities, won’t it? We won’t use too much, anyway.”

“The school won’t give money to us this year.”

“Won’t give money?” Yan Chuyang’s eyes popped in consternation, “Why?”

Wei Yuan rubbed his nose and frowned. “It seems that the school’s fund can’t support so many clubs, so headmasters all agreed to cut money from entertainment clubs such us ours, so as to provide more to some “positive” clubs like GO club, Advanced Maths Club and Marx Studying club.”

Yan Chuyang got so angry that he was gritting his teeth, “How could they!”

Wei Yuan shrugged, “It’s already a decision. The announcement have come out this morning.”

Yan Chuyang sighed helplessly, “Then I also have to go out to find a sponsor.”

“I can be your sponsor.” A deep voice came from the door suddenly.

Yan Chuyang turned to look back, “Song Huaiqi?”

Song Huaiqi walked up to the boy and whispered, “What’s wrong? Was there a problem?”

Yan Chuyang stood up in a hurry and invited, “Please have a seat.”

Song Huaiqi shook his head, “Don’t bother, I’ll just stand here.”

Yan Chuyang lowered his head and let out a sigh, “The school won’t provide money for our club activity, so we have to get a sponsor by ourselves.”

Song Huaiqi thought for a while and said, “Give me your club activity plan. I can give you money.”

Yan Chuyang raised his head, hesitating, “I am afraid that is not appropriate.”

“Why unappropriate?, Song Huaiqi said in a serious tone, “I’ll be your sponsor and you’ll advertise our company. That’s a win-win collaboration!”

Wei Yuan pulled Yan Chuyang’s wrist and said in an ambiguous tone, “But we are comic club and your businness is about real estate. We have nothing in common. How can we collaborate?”

Song Huaiqi smiled, ” You can just print our company introduction on your posters so that more people get wo know our company. That will be very helpful for us since we recruit many employees here every year.”

Yan Chuyang nodded, “Right, that makes sense.”

Song Huaiqi replied directly, “So it’s a deal. We could talk about some details later.”

Yan Chuyang curved up the corner of his mouth, “Alright, then. I will prepare for it very carefully, trying to add some introduction of your company in our activity.”

Song Huaiqi was attracted by the determination and enthusiasm in Yan Chuyang’s  eyes, so it was quite a while before he nodded in agreement.

After setting a date for negotiation with Yan Chuyang,Song Huaiqi left. He seemed to be very busy, because every time he came to school, he could just meet with Yan Chuyang in a hurry and leave soon.

“So,” Wei Yuan nudged Yan Chuyang’s shoulder, “Are you really gonna accept Song Huaiqi’s endorsement?”

“Why not,” Yan Chuyang lowered his head to calculate the budget for the activities and said in a low voice, “His company is very successful. If he can be our sponsor, our problem will definately be solved.”

“But why not ask my couisin for help? You live together!”

Yan Chuyang paused for a moment and said, “I don’t want to ask him for money.”

The relationship of them had already been mixed with profits and interests. If he asked him for money in such circumstance, the relationship would be even worse.

Moreover, he didn’t want to show his weakness in front of Wei Qing. He wanted to make money by himself and one day he would be able to have enough money to support him.

He had spent Wei Qing’s donated money for many years, so he should earn money to pay back since he had already grown up now.

Wei Yuan shook his head in confusement, “It’s your own business. But I have to warn you that Song Huaiqi seems to have improper feelings about you. You gotta be more mindful.”
