Creating A New Legend Through Practical Magic

Chapter 47 - Most Murderous Player

Suddenly, there was a flash of golden light in the field, drawing everyone's attention to it.

The snitch!

The first to react was Harry, immediately diving after it, closely followed by Draco. It seemed that, despite Draco's better broom, he still couldn't catch up to Harry's skill on the broom. Deciding to take matters into his own hands, Casimir went after the bludger and hit it towards Harry but, it seemed like Harry had already seen it coming and swerved, avoiding it.

Fortunately, this gave Draco enough time to catch up, quickly overtaking Harry but, as soon as he was about to grab the snitch, it seemed to disappear suddenly.

"F.u.c.k! What the hell just happened?!" Draco cursed, looking around anxiously for the snitch.

(Casimir: I don't think he should be cursing so much. His father is just on the benches, watching him.)

Seeing everything that happened, Casimir narrowed his eyes in suspicion. Something fishy is happening here.

Draco and Harry then, returned to scanning the field for the snitch, trying to be faster than the other at spotting it.

Suddenly, while Harry was in the middle of circling around in the air, his broom began to jerk around wildly, nearly throwing him off.

What the hell is he doing? Casimir looked around in confusion and spotted Hermione on the Gryffindor benches, looking through a pair of binoculars towards the teachers benches. Following her line of sight, Casimir spotted Snape who seemed to be muttering something while staring in great concentration at Harry.

A hex? Wait, no... Snape has no reason to do that to Harry. Then... What is it?

Casimir looked closer and realized, on the bench just below Snape, Quirrell was muttering in a similar matter. Then, it all became clear to Casimir.

One of them is hexing Harry's broom while the other is canceling the other's hex... Which one of them is it though?

Casimir shook his head. I'll deal with this later.

Just then, when Harry was struggling to control his broom, the snitch finally reappeared, hovering around Harry as if bidding him to catch it.

Something is definitely wrong here! The snitch won't actively try to get close to the players! At this point, Casimir was more than one hundred percent sure that someone was controlling the snitch from behind the scenes.

Fortunately, it didn't take too long for Draco to notice the snitch as well and dove towards it. Just in time however, Harry seemed to gain control over his broom and, the both of them chased after the snitch.

Casimir glanced at the corner of his eye towards the teachers benches and saw Quirrell looking at another direction and Snape somehow had his robe on fire. Hermione seemed to have been responsible for this as Casimir saw her running away from the benches.

(Casimir: How dare she set Snape on fire! As if he isn't already hot enough! Draco: -chokes on an apple-)

When Casimir turned back to the field, he realized that Harry and Draco were going neck to neck, diving towards the snitch but, Harry was slowly gaining lead. With the score of the houses, there was only a one point difference between Slytherin and Gryffindor. Things weren't looking very good for them.

"Damn it. Why do I always have to do everything?" Casimir muttered but, milliseconds later, he controlled his broom and sped up towards one of the Weasely twins and directly crashed into him, seeming to not care even if he injured the other and, swung his bat, hitting the bludger that the Weasely was aiming to hit.

"Sorry. I'm new to this game." Casimir smirked at the boy he had just hit.

Thump!

With a resounding hit, the bludger soared across the field and, as if it had grown eyes, the bludger hit the back of Harry's broom, making him lose control at the last minute and, finally, Draco clenched his fist over the tiny, golden ball.

Slytherin won!

"Slytherin!!!" Marcus shouted with his fist thrown to the air.

Loud cheers filled the field.

...

Despite Slytherin nearly getting a foul a few times for the overuse of violence in the field, mostly because Casimir was actively using the bludger to hit people's brooms, backs, and faces, it didn't change the fact that Slytherin won.

That night, the Slytherin common room was filled to the brim with people celebrating this victory. There was one person who stood out in the mass of green robes though.

Being surrounded by Slytherin students, Louis, wearing his blue Ravenclaw robes, stuck out like a sore thumb. Fortunately, he had Casimir beside him else he would have long been driven out.

Not many students that aren't from Slytherin had managed to get inside the Slytherin common room after all.

Louis looked down at his feet and fidgeted, clearly uncomfortable in this bustling place but, he still forced himself to come to congratulate his new friend. "C-congratulations, Casimir... and Draco..."

Hearing Louis congratulate him as well, Draco nodded awkwardly, still not used to the presence of this new friend. It was even more awkward when he found out that Louis was actually a muggleborn. He had never actively conversed with those 'mudbloods' without insulting them after all but, he couldn't do that this time since this 'mudblood' just happened to be his best friend's friend.

It was hard for Draco to adapt but, Casimir was glad that he was at least trying to.

"It's stuffy in here. Wanna go out for some fresh air?" Casimir asked, noticing Louis' discomfort.

"Yes, please... Thank you." Louis replied gratefully, still hiding his face behind his hair.

After Casimir told Draco that they were going out for a bit, they left, being stared at by Draco in suspicion and scrutiny. They ignored it though.

"Did you like watching the game?" Casimir asked casually as they were walking.

"Yes! You were great! Of course, Draco was great too, but, you were more fun to watch!" Louis began talking more animatedly. It seemed that, when no one else was around, he was actually quite enthusiastic.

"Oh? How so?" Casimir asked with a smile.

"Well, when you were hitting the other players with the bludger, it always made me feel so excited! Especially when you hit the other seeker just in time for Draco to catch the snitch! It looked very cool!" Louis spoke quickly, looking very sincere and excited.

"Haha! So you just like it because I was being violent?" Casimir had an eyebrow raised as he laughed.

"That too... But, you were very cool when you were playing! It's like you were a mass murderer on the field!" Louis said.

A mass murderer...? Casimir's smile stiffened. "Haha... I suppose..."
