Crystalline Universe: Team Fortress 2/ Overwatch

In the previous episode, Azur and her team decided to come back and face the Valentine brothers once more. As they approached the trainwreck, they were encircled by the brothers and now left with nowhere to escape, only one side is gonna come out victorious.

[Karson] - "Bring it up, Valentine!

[Albert] - "AAAArgh! "

Albert's fists clashed with Darlynn's rapier and as he tried to launch side attacks, Karson appeared to defend both of Darlynn's sides. Without losing a second, Azur used her sapphires to attack one of the brothers on the tree. Seeing the situation, Albert quickly gave his ability to Rudolf, who used it to deflect the attack.

Albert quickly fell back and passed D4C to Walter, who used it to ambush Azur from the back. Mergiann, realizing the situation, used her bubbles to block Walter's attack but just as soon as Walter was stopped, he passed his ability to Rudolf. Rudolf jumped down from the trees and charged at full speed at Karson.

Karson tried to defend against his attack but just as Rudolf hit him, he realized that Rudolf didn't have his ability. Rudolf had Albert's shield instead. Just as he realized what had happened, Albert jumped in and hit him hard into the side with Rudolf's ability, breaking his arm and ribs.

[Mergiann] - "Karson! "

Karson flew for a short distance and fell unconscious on the ground with a twisted arm. Mergiann quickly rushed to his help but she quickly realized that Walter was still beside her.

[Walter] - "Concentrate on the enemy, little missy! "

As Walter's hand grabbed her clothes, she felt a feeling as if the fabrics were burning and melting. Upon seeing the occasion, Azur quickly moved her sapphire around and before anyone knew it, the sound of blood dripping can be heard.

Azur had just chopped off Walter's left hand and now its fingers and Mergiann's clothes were merged together.

[Walter] (in agony) - "AAAAAAH! "

Blood splattered all over Mergiann's face while Walter ran off in a panic, leaving a red trail behind him. Mergiann took a moment to realized that she was basically bathing in Walter's blood and as she looked down, she saw the severed hand stuck inside her shirt.

[Mergiann] (in a panic) - "Gross! Verdammt ekelhaft! "

Mergiann pulled out her ancestor's SS-Ehrendolch knife and cut off the piece of clothing stuck with the bloody hand.

[Mergiann] - "Heilige Scheiße! Das ist verdammt ekelhaft! " (Holy shit! This is f.u.c.k.i.n.g disgusting!)

Mergiann quickly scrubbed the blood off her face using her cape and stood up in anger.

[Mergiann] - "Du verdammtes Schwein! Ich werde euch alle töten! " (You f.u.c.k.i.n.g pig! I'll kill all of you!)

[Azur] - "Hey, calm down, Mergiann! "

[Karson] - "Don't try stopping her when she's going full German. She's probably gonna make some sparks, so just cover yourself. "

Without hesitation, Mergiann pulled 4 grenades out of her pocket and pulled the pings on all of them. Then to the 4 brother's shock, she started to throw, waves after waves of grenades toward them.

[Rudolf] - "Shit! Take cover! "

[Mergiann] - "EXPLOSIONEN! " (EXPLOSIONS!)

After a second of silence, all that could be heard is the loudest blast everyone here has ever heard. Karson barely had time to pull Mergiann into a pit before a furious wave of fire ravaged the area. It took a few minutes for the environment around them to return to a calm state and while Karson took a peek to see if the brothers are still around, Mergiann jumped up from the ground.

[Mergiann] - "German technology is the best! Fear my bombs, mother f.u.c.kers! "

[Karson] - "I think I'll take her to a psychologist after this ordeal. "

[Azur] - "That blood bath sure scarred her pretty badly. "

While Mergiann laughed megalomaniacally in the background, Karson and Azur were both observing their surroundings while staying alert about the possible movements of the brothers.

[Karson] - "I sure damn hope one of her shit killed an enemy. "

[Azur] - "This will be improbable... this can at best injure one of them. "

[Karson] - "How do you know? "

Azur didn't speak, she was instead looking at something afar that caught her eyes.

[Karson] - "Azur? What is it? "

Azur was slowly standing up and trying to move away from her current position with as much care as possible.

[Karson] - "What's going on? "

[Azur] - "Get up slowly and don't make any sound. "

Upon more careful inspection, Karson suddenly saw what terrified Azur this much; one of the Valentine brothers, having caught a large portion of the explosion's energy in Albert's shielding ability was looking for them afar.

[Karson] - "Oh, f.u.c.k me! "

While carefully standing up, Karson accidentally stood upon a dried tree branch on the floor and triggered a sound. Azur, Darlynn and Mergiann, who was held by the mouth by Darlynn, all looked at him in shock.

[Karson] - "Bollocks... "

Darlynn jumped in front of Karson a mere second before the energy charge reached him and planted her rapier in the ground. The energy was instantly forced to scatter around her as if she was Moses opening a path into the red sea. The force of it was so great that Darlynn started to lose her grip but at the last second, Azur added in her sapphires to support her.

When the ordeal was finally over, Darlynn collapsed into the pit with severe burns on both of her sides.

[Karson] - "Darlynn! "

Everyone gathered around her but she wasn't responding, her arms and legs along with part of her middle body were burned severely. Azur and the rest soon caught the smell of cooked flesh coming from Darlynn's wounds while she was barely breathing.

[Karson] - "Darlynn! You can't die! Hold on, we'll get you outta here! "

"Again... Again someone sacrificed for me... Whyyyyy? I'm not worth your lives, why do you all keep jumping in front of me? " Thought Karson in a wave of panic.

[Rudolf] - "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap! "

Everyone turned their eyes to see Rudolf standing just by the edge of the pit with his arms crossed.

[Rudolf] - "How about we resolve some unfinished business here? "

In a fit of rage, Karson jumped out of the pit and started to trade blows against Rudolf but as Rudolf fought back, he stared at Karson with eyes of pity.

[Rudolf] - "There is no Darlynn to combo with you... How are you going to defend yourself? "

Without saying a word, Rudolf's punch diverted its direction and the attack went instead for Karson's side.

[Rudolf] - "You are finished! "

But to Rudolf's shock, Azur's sapphire took the hit instead as they protected Karson's sides.

[Rudolf] - "What? "

[Karson] - "AAAAH! "

Karson suddenly jumped in and delivered a solid hit against Rudolf's unprotected left leg. The hit was a success as it tore part of his leg muscles off and left Rudolf with a grievous crippling injury.

[Karson] - "If I'm right, your name is Rudolf... Any last word? "

[Walter] - "Hehehe... Hahahahaha! "

[Karson] - "What are you laughing about? "

[Walter] - "You f.u.c.k.i.n.g idiot! Do you think Rudolf is dumb enough to let you land a hit? "

Upon hearing those words, Karson was left in shock as he slowly turned his head around. Mergiann and Azur were both held to the ground by Albert and Ritter while Rudolf stared at him with a slight grin on his face.

[Rudolf] - "You fall short compare to us... how you were able to kill so many executioners is purely due to the fact that they were chosen for their loyalty rather than their skills. "

Karson's rage blinded his vision and he totally forgot that the other brothers could ambush them from the back.

[Rudolf] - "Now, I won't repeat it again. Hands in the air and walk slowly toward me. "

With a bit of quick thinking, Karson quickly figured out a way to get out of this as he turned around and grabbed Walter as his hostage.

[Karson] - "Toss them over to me or I'll blow this wanker's brain out! "

Rudolf and the other brothers quickly stood up, shocked to see such reasoning from Karson.

[Karson] - "I won't f.u.c.k.i.n.g repeat it, give me back my teammates or I'll f.u.c.k.i.n.g blow his brains out! "

[Rudolf] - "Give them back to him. "

[Albert] - "What? But... "

[Rudolf] - "I said give them back to him! "

Without losing a second, Albert and Ritter pushed Azur and Mergiann out of the pit and ordered the 2 to advance toward Karson. Upon them reaching Karson, he kicked Walter toward Rudolf and he made it back to his brothers while slowly dragging his leg behind,

[Albert] - "Why did you- "

[Rudolf] - "I have my own plans. "

With one hand, he tossed Darlynn toward Karson and proceeded to advance toward them. Karson and Mergiann opened their arms and caught Darlynn's body before she landed on the soil.

[Rudolf] - "I'm gonna give you 3 a fighting chance... how about it? "

Karson slowly stood up face to face against Rudolf with his fists ready. He stared right into the eyes that looked at him with pity with his own eyes filled with revenge.

[Karson] - "Challenge accepted, you bloody wanker. "

Rudolf smirked and took a few steps back to leave some space between him and Karson.

[Rudolf] - "60 seconds and all 3 of you will be down or dead. "

[Karson] - "Quit the chattering and let's get it already! "

[Rudolf] - "1... 2... "

Karson rushed in and threw a few punches toward Rudolf, which he easily blocked using his arms.

[Rudolf] - "17... 18... "

Rudolf dashed behind Karson and used all the acc.u.mulated energy from Karson's attacks to create an energy blast toward Mergiann. Azur quickly jumped in and used her crystals to block the attack only for the 2 of them to be propelled into the air before hitting trees.

[Rudolf] - "21... 22... "

Through pure rage and determination, Karson charged once back in and using all his stamina, he was able to keep Rudolf's attacks at bay. Rudolf didn't seem to be bothered with Karson at all as he exchanged punches with him.

[Rudolf] - "49... 50... "

As Karson is used to defending against his fists, Rudolf suddenly used his foot to kick him in the abdomen. Karson backed off but before he could react, a spike came out of the ground and stabbed him in the stomach. With a single kick, Rudolf sent Karson to the rest of his team.

[Rudolf] - "60. "

Azur gradually got herself off the ground and looked at her battered team. Mergiann also pulled herself together and sat up against the tree beside Azur.

[Mergiann] - "*Heavy breathing* This is my fault... Azur, I'm sorry. "

[Azur] - "There no to blame on particular... we were too big on our ego, all of us. "

Mergiann touched Karson's brown hair with her worn hands and closed her eyes.

[Mergiann] - "If we didn't fight against each other, this would never have happened. "

[Azur] - "I guess what I did was worth it... at least we are a team again. "

[Mergiann] - "Yeah. All we lived through... All the adventure we had... spending years escaping the grip of those that hunted us. I never even tasted what life feels like. "

[Azur] - "No one of us did... but if I was just stronger, we could've... "

Azur's eyes were slowly filled with tears as she looked at the ground.

[Azur] - "I have betrayed you guys... this is all my fault. "

[Mergiann] - "Azur... you came back to save us. You taught us to fight instead of running. I'd rather die than run for the rest of my life. "

[Azur] - "If I didn't lead Valentine to you guys... "

Azur kept crying while Mergiann watched helplessly with Karson's head resting on her l.a.p.

Rudolf pulled a cigarette out of his pocket and started to smoke while his brothers approached.

[Mergiann] - "Azur. "

[Azur] - "Huh? "

[Mergiann] - "Back then I apologized to you but you never answered me. I just wanna ask: do you accept my apology for all the things I and Karson have done to you? "

[Azur] - "Why does it matter? I'm not worth apologizing to. I betrayed you guys, I'm not worth it. "

[Mergiann] - "The fact that you came back for us means that you are still our friend. You saved Karson for me and as a friend, I need to know if I'm worth your friendship despite all that I've done in the past. "

[Azur] - "Of course. I accept your apology. "

[Mergiann] - "Thank you, Azur. I'm finally at peace at once. "

With those words, Mergiann passed out and fell on the soil beside her.

[Azur] - "Mergiann! "

All of Azur's friends were on the ground unresponsive, leave her to be the last one standing between the lives of her team and the Valentine brothers.

[Azur] (in whispers) - "If I can give you guys a second chance... if I can give us all a second chance... even to live one more month in our lives, I'll die for it. "

[Rudolf] - "How cute. You are the last one left, Azur. "

With one stare, Azur's 4 sapphires flew to the skies and formed the rectangular configuration of the golden ratio. The energy slowly built up in it but Azur didn't have any more gems to complete the attack.

[Azur] - "*closing her eyes* It's useless after all... "

But upon opening her eyes she saw Mergiann's ruby floating in front of her. Due to the sentimental attachment she formed with her in her last moments, her ability was able to bind itself to the foreign gem.

Realizing that something wasn't right, Rudolf launched a punch at the rectangular structure but it absorbed his attack. As he tried attacking Azur, the rectangle kept blocking his way toward her.

[Rudolf] - "What kind of sorcery is this? "

Azur's eyes were filled with trajectory and calculation but also the spark of her team's fighting spirit. As she stared at Rudolf, the spark quickly turned into a flame that ignited the ruby with a glow of red.

Rudolf, not knowing what to do with this situation, tried desperately to destroy the rectangle but as it was fully charged, all the energy of his attacks was redirected to the ground.

[Azur] - "Lend me your strength, Darlynne, Karson and Mergiann! "

The ruby dashed into the rectangle and archived the legendary golden ration within it. At the end of the rectangle, the ruby disappeared into thin air only to appear suddenly inside Rudolf's c.h.e.s.t. The following explosion ripped a huge hole inside his c.h.e.s.t and to everyone's shock, all of Rudolf's body started to spin as every single one of his molecules was spinning.

Albert, Walter and Ritter's crystals all shattered at the same time as the ruby contained so much energy that it overwhelmed all their ability at once. Walter desperately tried to save Rudolf but upon touching some of his spinning skins, his own started to spin as well. Soon, Walter was also killed as his entire body disintegrated into spinning particles.

The effect of the spin was so strong that the ground and rocks around the 2 dead brothers also started to spin. Without saying a word, Ritter ran toward Azur and helped to drag her and her teammates out of harm's way. Meanwhile, in the forest, Carl was running toward where he saw the flash of light from Azur's ability.

After a few minutes of struggle, with the help of Azur's sapphires, everyone was moved out of the ability's area of effect. In the end, an area of 100 metres in diametres around Rudolf was disintegrated. After finally escaping the danger, both Azur and Ritter rested by the river.

A sound suddenly came from the woods but just as Azur was about to attack, Albert walked out of the bushes with both of his hands in the air. To Azur's surprise, Carl also walked out of the woods with a gun pointed at Albert's head.

[Azur] - "So you decided to come back? "

[Carl-E] - "I can't bring myself to leave you behind like a coward. Also, I brought a little present. "

Albert looked distressed, he was fearful of Azur's reprisal but also angry at Ritter for being a traitor.

[Albert] - "Ritter, you f.u.c.k.i.n.g traitor! "

[Ritter] - "No, I didn't betray anyone. During all this time, the only thing I ever betrayed was my heart. I chose to walk the path of justice! "

[Albert] - "I'll tell you justice, mother f.u.c.ker! "

Albert suddenly pulled a pistol out of his pocket and emptied 3 shots on Ritter's head before Carl shot him in the c.h.e.s.t.

[Azur] - "Ritter! "

Azur crawled to Ritter but it was too late, he was already dead with 3 bullet wounds to his forehead. Out of respect, Azur closed his eyes and kissed him on the cheek.

[Azur] - "You followed your heart and fought against your brothers' dark ways. Your true name isn't Ritter, you are Paxton. "

On the ground, Albert struggled out of pain and rolled around a few times before gathering all his strength to speak to Azur.

[Albert] - "It was fun while it lasted, Azur. Hahaha! "

[Azur] - "You lost everything in the end, so let me ask: was all this really worth it? "

[Albert] - "What do you know? WHAT DO YOU KNOW? "

[Azur] - "You lost all your brothers and the chance for today to end differently. "

[Albert] - "I don't need it to end differently. This is how it ends, Azur, no matter what you do. I have no regret and so must you. Sometimes in life, you must learn to accept the present instead of being stuck in the past. "

[Azur] - "I agree. "

One of Azur's sapphires suddenly pierced Albert's skull, killing him instantly.

Azur finally breathed a sigh of relief as Carl reached his hand out to pull her off the ground.

[Carl-E] - "Do it still hurt? "

[Azur] - "I wonder will it hurt when half of your organs and ribs are missing. "

[Carl-E] - "You are a mad girl, you know that? "

[Azur] - "You clearly don't know me well then. "

[Carl-E] - "But, despite all, you did it. "

[Azur] - "Yeah, I did. "

Azur looked at her friends and with a smile, she whispered the words: "Thank you, guys. Lets's go home. " Azur then moved to the lake to drink a little bit of water while Carl treated her teammates' wounds.

-Ability: [Blue Dream]: "Azur's requiem ability. 4 sapphires will first take positions to form a 3D rectangle which will start to acc.u.mulate energy. Then once fully charged, Azur can perform the golden ratio using her 5th gem inside the rectangle. Once the process is completed, the 5th gem will disappear into a wormhole and reappear wherever Azur d.e.s.i.r.es with an unstoppable power around it. Anything hit by it will start to spin uncontrollably until disintegration. The effect of the attack can reach a radius of 50m from the point of impact. The rectangle and 5th gem are, during the process, invulnerable to any attack as they will divert any attack away from them. "
