Crystalline Universe: Team Fortress 2/ Overwatch

The tension between the two sides was high, knowing the raw strength of War, Reinhardt knows that Ace may possess the same kind of power as his brother. The fiery ability of Ace makes all attacks against him much harder than expected, as the bullets instantly melt upon contact with his burning armour.

Reinhardt - McCree we must think of a way to defeat him.

McCree - I know, but for now, let's stay on the defensive. We had yet to discover the full potential of his power.

Standing aside, Kadyn can only watch helplessly the two men fight an enemy she could never dream to win against. On the other hand, McCree, after calmly analyzing the situation, slowly activated his ability, which passed unnoticed to Ace. All of a sudden, in a coordinated attack, McCree fired 6 shots of plasma which cannot be melted at Ace while Reinhardt charged at the dark crusader with his thrusters before lifting his hammer to smash him. In a few smartly executed movements, Ace dodged all the shots with ease while blocking Reinhardt's hammer with his giant swords. To Ace's surprise, the 6 shots suddenly came back at him in a coordinated fashion, all hitting his visor. The damages done caused his vision to blackout for a few seconds as in these moments, Reinhardt used his hammer to smash the ground, causing the dark crusader to lose his balance and fall. Advancing with fury, Reinhardt prepared to put an end to Ace's terror. Lifting his hammer, he smashed the ground below him with all the strength he had. Realizing his position, Ace rolled to the side, dodging Reinhardt's deadly strike. With a swift movement, Ace was back onto his feet once again.

Looking at the dark crusader, Reinhardt nodded his head to McCree before launching himself once more at full speed toward Ace. Firing 6 other shots, McCree activated his ability as invisible air currents formed over Ace's head and back. Seeing the bullets coming toward his head, Ace dodged once again with none of them hitting him but only this time, turning his head to see the bullets coming back toward him pushed by the wind. With Reinhardt charging to his direction, Ace quickly jumped back and with an opening on his forearm, he ejected a splash of the liquid inside his armour forward. The burning liquid soon was caught in a current of wind, projecting all of it at full speed toward McCree. Seeing the incoming danger, McCree tried to dodge but it was too late. The substance splattered all cross his body caused him severe burns, incapacitating him on the spot.

Reinhardt (scream) - McCree!!!

Ace - What happened was beyond my knowledge but I was pretty sure of its function. Your friend was capable of creating air currents on the air where his shots can be blown to its d.e.s.i.r.ed target.

Here's an advice, my friend, don't try the same trick on your enemy twice.

Reinhardt - You bastard, you are going to pay for it!

Ace - Try it!

Exchanging regards, the two crusaders looked in hate at each other. Launching first toward Ace, Reinhardt charged with his hammer in hand, ready to bash the shit of his enemy. Defending with his swords, Ace was pushed back by the share force of Reinhardt's attack. A swing after another, Reinhardt forced the constant retreat of his enemy with all the brute force he has left in him. In a side smash, he knocked one of Ace's sword out of his hand and with his hammer tried to slam the dark crusader's head. With a swift move, Ace used the opportunity to crouch and give a kick on Reinhardt's face. Overcame with anger, Reinhardt did not even felt the impact of his kick as he activated his shield and nailed Ace to the floor. Preparing to deliver his kill strike, Reinhardt lifted his hammer and aimed at the dark crusader's head.

Ace - You wouldn't want to do that, friend.

Reinhardt - Why shouldn't I! Enjoy hell, bastard!

Ace - If you killed me, my body will explode and release all the burning fluids that will probably kill your friends, destroy the ship and cause everyone to die in the crash. You wouldn't want that right.

Reinhardt (in anger) - You dirty bastard...

Ace - Drop your weapon to the floor and surrender yourself or I will make sure this ship and its crew grills over thousands of degrees.

Kadyn - No! Reinhardt, don't do it, he will kill you!

Reinhardt - I cannot risk everybody's lives for my own, I'm sorry!

Dropping his hammer to the floor and setting Ace free, the first thing the dark crusader did was to stab Reinhardt through the abdomen with his sword.

Ace - You could have been one of ours but you decided to die with the traitors.

Falling to the ground, Reinhardt remained unresponsive, he has lost.

Kadyn, quickly, seeing the situation, rendered herself invisible and ran away.

Advancing toward Ferdinand, Ace pointed his sword against the man's neck.

Ace - Come on, show me the way to the Australium or die!

Ferdinand - Alright, alright, just calm down, I have a lot to live for, I will guide you there.

Ace - You better get moving then!

Following quietly Ace and Ferdinand, Kadyn walked thinking ways she could defeat the fiery demon.

Kadyn (In her mind) - I could stab him in the head right? I... could maybe call McArthur back...

No! It wouldn't work, he's busy, I must think this through. Aaaargh! Come on, Kadyn, you can do this. Gosh, I wish you are here, Mike...

The road leading to the Australium storage was walked without any miss-step by Ferdinand. Only Bernhardt, Dane and herself know where the Australium was stored. Her doubts about Ferdinand being the enemy spy grew as they got closer and closer to the storage. Finally, in front of the entrepot, Kadyn knows that she must act because if Ace gets the Australium, they can turn the tide of the war to their favour. Appearing from invisibility, Kadyn kicked Ferdinand in the face before he realized her presence, knocking him unconscious. With a few swift acrobatic movements, she jumped and using her wrist knife, she stabbed Ace in the face. Burning her arm and knife, the attack proved to be futile against Ace's harden armour and heat power. Stepping back, Kadyn quickly observed Ace's body for a weakness she could exploit.

A piece of Genji's blade made out of the same material as her wrist knife can be seen hanging on one of his veins delivering the deadly substance. The tube seems to be leaking as the piece has managed to cut through the tube. All of a sudden, Ace splashed the ground with the burning liquid before Kadyn could react. The substance consumed her legs before, in a flash, a sword suddenly flew and knocked her out of the pool of death.

Kadyn - Genji!

Genji, barely standing, was able to save her life in time with his ability. Armed with two of his remaining katanas, Genji stood alongside Kadyn, ready to give everything he has to stop Ace.

Genji - Alright, Kadyn, just tell me that you have a plan.

Kadyn - Can you still use your ability to its fullest?

Genji - Just tell me what to do, at this point, I'm ready for anything.

Kadyn - I need a way to get close to him.

With that said, Kadyn now fully regenerated, used her hands to rip her wrist knifes out of her forearms. One after another, the blades regenerated every time she rips them away.

Going into invisibility, she dashed standing on Genji's katanas toward Ace, who wasn't at all prepared for what will come next. Throwing a rain of blades toward him, Ace only realized her plan after all the knives have stabbed him through his tubes.

Ace (frustrated) - Don't you think I can't see you, you little bastard! Your insignificant tricks won't work on me!

Activating his terminal vision, Kadyn was rendered visible to his eyes once again.

Kadyn - Seen me would not matter anymore.

As in a few acrobatic moves, she kicked all the blades deeper inside Ace's armour while dodging with ease all the attempts Ace made to stop her.

Ace (angrily) - Aaargh! You have genuinely pissed me off, you little bitch! I hope you enjoy the burn!

Burning the hot liquid inside his veins at a higher temperature, Ace jumped toward Kadyn in high speed in an attempt to burn her whole.

Kadyn - That's the result I was expecting from you, you have lost!

Ace (enraged) - I have lost? I HAVE LOST? We'll see if it's you and your friends who have lost!

Kadyn stood her position even though Ace approached her with a blazing temperature capable of melting her in seconds. Suddenly, Ace fell to the ground in agony, putting his hand on his body, he screamed as something was tearing him from the inside.

Kadyn - I have already told you, ... You have lost!

Ace (in pain) - Impossible! Me, defeated by a demi-human, this isn't reality, NOOOOO!!!!

With flame exiting from every opening on his armour, Ace finally rested, after a short struggle on the ground, unresponsive before his visor burst in flame and explode, finally putting an end to the dark crusader's life.

*At the 5th base

McArthur launched himself at the Giant battle units with another attempt to destroy the bot. His attack finally worked as he managed to destroy the last one of the 18 Megalobusters. Finally taking a breath of fresh air, McArthur rested on the air as the battle continued without much more thought on his mind. All of a sudden, to his surprise, the sounds of an explosion woke him from his break. Turning his head around, he was shocked to see one of the Megalobusters tearing appar one of the Overwatch cruiser that flew in low altitude. Hurrying to the cruiser's rescue, McArthur quickly dashed toward the giant mecha with a punch.

Observing the battlefield, CR-455 looked as McArthur flew in high speed toward the titanic bot.

CR-455 - Let us conduct our first test, scientists, take note!

Hearing CR-455's order, the scientists and engineers quickly used their portable screen to start a record as CR-455 flew out of his ship and readied himself. Suddenly, an incoming message interrupted the warlord's preparation.

Spy - Sir, it's me, Spy. I have bad news.

CR-455 - This better is important, Spy.

Spy (in a sorry voice) - Ace... He... He failed...

CR-455 - Jesus, why can't you count on anyone, why do we have to do everything ourselves.

Spy - Are you in need of my assistance, my lord?

CR-455 - No, stay back Spy, I will handle this myself.

Spy - As you wish.

Ending the conversation, CR-455 laughed as the crystals on his forearms started to glow.

CR-455 - HAHAHAHAH! They will never understand what hit them, my powers, they manipulate reality itself. I achieved what, Sniper did not archive. If today's test goes as expected, I will be the emperor of the world, no one can stop me, no one can stand in my way, I will put perfection to what you have started, Sniper!

As time did not move at all, the events have changed, some did not feel anything as only those targeted received the consequences.

Delivering his punch, McArthur was shocked to realize that instead of hitting the colossal omic, he destroyed the cruiser. As the cruiser slowly succ.u.mbed to the damages, McArthur was stunned to see only lives burning inside the fires caused by the destructions and the smokes of the cruiser slowly covering the sky with the ashes of its victims.

*Inside the medical cruiser

The medic, healing the wounded, suddenly felt something that gave him a chill.

Bernhardt - I think something was wrong, the Australium is a valuable substance, they cannot be giving up so easily.

Kadyn (realizing something) - Wait, you are right, mister Bernhardt, I forgot to verify the Australium storage back when I defeated Ace.

Bernhardt (In a hurry) - Take care of them, I'll be right back.

Running toward the Australium depot, Bernhardt arrived in front of the steel door, which was still intact and wasn't even touched at all.

Taking a breath, the Medic was assured before entering the chamber by tapping a code on a tablet besides the main entrance. Once inside, the Medic was appalled as he slowly kneeled to the ground, the Australium were missing. No security breach, no apparent ways the burglar entered the storage and no camera recording, the Australium simply disappeared.

That was one of the darkest days Overwatch suffered as even though the battle was won, 58 476 soldiers and crewmen died alone with all the Australium stolen and McArthur's "accident" who caused a tone of controversies. McArthur was forgiven as the experts analyzing the situation deemed the tragedy a pure accident and miscalculation. The members of McCree's team recovered from their injuries without complications.

*Inside McArthur's chamber

Drinking and soaking himself with alcohol, McArthur was more than traumatized by his action. Thinking about the atrocity he committed, he drank bottle after bottle of liquor until he was completely drunk. Kadyn entering the room can only fell panic as she tried to separate McArthur from his drinks.

McArthur - Don't touch me! You... stay away from me, you bitch!

Kadyn - It's not your fault, McArthur, you don't have to feel bad!

McArthur - The people, they died watching as I killed them, I deserve to die!

Kadyn - It's not in your power to control it, it's an accident. I understand how you feel, please stop drinking and calm yourself down.

McArthur - You don't understand how I feel, you only see life as something that we can just live through in happiness but it isn't! Life requires sacrifice, I will die for the greater good of others.

Finishing his 6th bottle, McArthur broke the glass and started to cut himself with the shattered pieces.

Kadyn (shocked) - What are you doing? Stop it!

McArthur, now drunk and unstable, stood up and broke another bottle on Kadyn's face. Hurt on the floor with pieces of glass inside her skin, Kadyn still decided to stand up courageously. Seeing Kadyn standing once again, McArthur grabbed another bottle and smashed it to piece once more on her face. Falling to the ground bleeding, Kadyn looked up to see McArthur breaking another empty bottle on his face before falling headfirst into a pile of broken glass. Now unconscious, McArthur's face was littered with blood. Grabbing McArthur by the shoulder, Kadyn dragged his head on her t.h.i.g.h before ripping pieces of her clothes and using them as bandages to stop his bleeding.

Finally, after covering all of McArthur's wounds, Kadyn put the injured man on his bed before seating herself on the cold floor. A drop of tear came out of her eye as she covered her mouth in fear of waking him up. As the time on the clock slowly ticked away, she remembered the one phrase the Medic told her.

« You are trying to bring back something that has moved on, you are no divinity, you are no sorcerer, you are only a slave to fate. You may have courage, you may have will but you don't have the power. Accept to move on or be stuck to die in the chain of pain »

Wiping the tears off her face, Kadyn looked at the stars once again.

Kadyn - « Follow what you believe in, look up to the sky and you will fly. I will always be there for you. My name is Mike G. Mundy and swearing on my words, I will be at your side until the very day I die. Live strong, believe and never let the challenges of life chain you down. » That's what you told me, Mike, I will not stay down.
