Crystalline Universe: Team Fortress 2/ Overwatch

***NOTE: If I wasn't mistaking, some of my readers started to drop my series because they don't like the way I may be going with my stories. Well, to set you on a comfortable note, yes, you, dear loyal readers who kept on reading my works, I won't disappoint you. The way my story goes is intended and if you don't consider dropping my series, you won't be disappointed. I know what I'm writing, I'm not a writer who kills his book without knowing. There is much to be expected, stay tuned for more content! :)

*Few weeks after the clash against Toro and Sepoltura

Azur, after her fight against Sepoltura, went with Darlynn to help her gather evidence for her case on the XX`s crimes. Their discoveries were horrendous, to say the least. They discovered that a special branch of the XX called The "Gruppopurificazione" or in English: "purification group" was integrated into the Liberaforza. The Liberaforza (or in English, Liberation force, is Talon's main army) was known to never commit any crime against humanity but with the integration of these ideological extermination squads, whose job is to execute civilians or soldiers or resistance members that refuse Sniper's reign or that are unwilling to accept the new ideology, inhuman bloodshed will rampage across all fronts of the war.

On the other hand, Karson made a full recovery in a hospital with Mergiann beside him. Today is the day when he will exit the hospital. With Mergiann by his side, Karson walked for the first time out of the main entrance of the building after weeks of bedtime.

[Mergiann] - "Careful! "

Karson quickly grabbed onto the metallic handle beside the stairs to prevent himself from falling.

[Karson] - "Yeah... not damn used to these new prosthetics... ouch! "

[Mergiann] - "So what do you say now? "

[Karson] - "What do you mean? "

[Mergiann] - "About going to my home and meeting my mother? "

[Karson] - "Well damn, we are not in a relationship or anythin'! Don't say it like that! "

Gradually, Karson dragged himself down the stairs and carefully tried to march on the sidewalk while Mergiann followed behind him.

[Mergiann] - "Still! I gotta introduce them to my "saviour" from those incidents. "

[Karson] - "Haha... don't take them too seriously, it's nothin'. "

[Mergiann] - "So, are you coming or not? "

Karson slowly learned to march more naturally with his cybernetic legs as they went on.

[Karson] - "I guess it wouldn't hurt since I ain't got nothin' to do anyways. "

[Mergiann] - "We are currently in Munich so we would need to drive a small 117Km to the town of Memmingen by the West. "

[Karson] - "We ain't going on a train no more! I won't take the train for the rest of my damned life! "

[Mergiann] (In a sarcastic tone) - "I get that the experience left you mentally scarred for life and left you crippled and unable to move and all but relax, I got you covered, we will be taking the taxi. "

[Karson] - "Very funny, if it wasn't for me, we wouldn't be standin' here talkin'. "

[Mergiann] - "That's why, good pal, we'll take a break from missions and spend some quality times in the countryside. "

As they approached a bar, a taxi waited by the street corner for the two of them. Mergiann ran toward the driver's window and whispered a few words to the man in German before heading toward the backseat with Karson.

As soon as the door closed, the vehicle started rolling across the busy street at full speed.

Behind, Mergiann opened her computer and searched a few charity sites where she started to donate one million at a time.

Karson just stayed quiet by her side without a word as he observed the city with its many structures.

After giving out all she could for the day, Mergiann turned her head toward Karson, who kept staring out into the city streets. Carefully, Mergiann slid her finger across the scar on his neck before he turned his attention toward her.

[Mergiann] - "I don't even remember now when it all started... and why it began that way. "

Karson smiled at Mergiann before looking away once more into the distance.

[Karson] - "I thought I would make things right. Without Mike, I wouldn't be where I am today, and not be who I am now. That's why I decided to repay him by doing him a favour... a favour that eventually endangered all of us, includin' you. "

[Mergiann] - "There is no point anymore, he even said he didn't care about that girl... I think she's called Kadyn... anymore, right? "

[Karson] - "Somethin' happened to him... I mean he's not even the same man anymore. "

[Mergiann] - "Strange how we never even managed to find a single trace of that Kadyn. "

The fresh wind carrying the flavour of grass and nature flowed through the window into the car while the clouds slightly covered the unbearable sunlight. There was a moment of pure peace and prosperity within this world where no sound from a weapon or words of hatred could be heard.

Mergiann peacefully rested her head on Karson's shoulder and wrapped herself around his arm.

[Mergiann] - "It's horrible how others suffered way more than what hardship we been through... I couldn't even imagine what inhumane horror occurred to Mike for him to metamorphose into this "monster" that even I grew to fear. "

[Karson] - "He sure sends a chill... even in my soul. I wonder if she was killed or something... "

[Mergiann] - "I guess it could be... but we need to address another important matter, Karson. "

[Karson] - "Which is it? "

[Mergiann] - "It's about Azur! We need to apologize to her! "

In an annoyed manner, Karson turned plunged his face into his palm before suddenly staring at Mergiann into the eyes.

[Karson] - "Apologize for what? For almost causing us to die? She's caused more damn harm than good by guttin' us all with her carelessness! "

[Mergiann] - "Why would you want to have revenge against someone that has been on our side for so long? You chassed her out of this team and now we need her back! I end up understanding her later on... Tell me, Karson, how does it feel to lose, to be at the bottom of everything? Hating isn't how we are gonna survive by, we need to put aside the past and start-up new again. "

Karson felt Mergiann's words deep inside his heart, he remembered how himself, was in fact at the bottom too back when he was still an executioner.

[Karson] - "I just don't trust her! "

[Mergiann] - "Well you'll have to! We don't have many allies in this cruel world, and if this is the path we chose to walk, we need the support of everyone who could side with us. "

After the small argument, Mergiann and Karson both stayed quiet while drowning in their own thoughts. As time passed, Karson and Mergiann both fell asleep both leaned to each other.

*Some times later

[Driver] - "Hey, wach auf, junges Paar! Wir kamen in Memmingen an. " (Hey, wake up, young couple! We arrived at Memmingen.)

Mergiann and Karson suddenly jumped out of their slumber and looked around in confusion.

[Driver] - "Ich habe jetzt schon mal gewartet. Steig jetzt aus meinem Auto, ich habe andere Kunden zu besuchen. " (I've been waiting for some times now! Get out of my car, I have other customers to attend.)

[Mergiann] - "Ja, ja, ich habe es verstanden, wir werden gehen. " (Yeah, yeah, we got it, we'll leave.)

After getting out of the car with their bags, Mergiann guided Karson through the relatively big town of Memmingen, then out of the town toward a rural area. The neighbourhood is only composed of farmhouses and endless fields of land filled with livestock or covered by crops.

When they arrived at Mergiann's farm, Karson was astonished by the view of a newly decorated and luxurious farmhouse where plenty of people were standing by. Young children played around the grass field while the a.d.u.l.ts gathered by the balcony.

A beefy man stood out of the crowd and slowly walked toward Mergiann. But the girl seemed nervous and worried as she looked around her surrounding in concern. Everyone around here is stranger to Mergiann, she knows no one amongst all the people presents here.

[Man] - "Gruß, wie kann ich dir helfen, junge Dame? " (Greeting, how can I help you, young lady?)

As Mergiann spoke to the man, Karson observed the many guests around the house. All the people around here seemed to have a hair colour different than Mergiann's brown hair. The women sitting by the balcony stared strangely at Karson and Mergiann and wondered could they be tourists.

[Mergiann] (in a scream) - "Dies ist das Eigentum der Meyers! Wer seid ihr alle Leute? " (This is the property of the Meyers! Who are all you people?)

[Man] - "woah, beruhige dich dort, kleines Mädchen. Wir haben diese Immobilie vor vielen Jahren gekauft, weil ihr Vorbesitzer verschwunden ist. " (woah, calm down there, little girl. We bought this property many years ago because its previous owner disappeared)

[Mergiann] - "verschwunden? Ich werde euch Leute zum Verschwinden bringen! " (disappeared? I will make you people f.u.c.k.i.n.g disappear!)

Karson rapidly caught Mergiann in his arms and prevented her from attacking the man.

[Mergiann] (in angered tone)- "Let me go, Karson! For f.u.c.k sake, they surely did something to my mother, those bastards! "

[Karson] - "Calm the f.u.c.k down will ya, Mergiann! Let's get things clear before you act! "

Hearing the loud noise, a woman immediately stepped out of the door and told a few words to her husband before inviting Mergiann and Karson into the house.

Time passed by as Mergiann and the woman discussed the matter in English over tea and dessert.

The woman showed smiles after smiles of appreciation as she explained how the money sent by Mergiann every month to the family has helped them through misery. But no once in the conversation has the woman mentioned Mergiann's family members since she's clueless about them. As strange it may be, when she asked everyone about the Meyers, no one knew a single detail about them.

[woman] - "And that's how you helped us! Your money saved my family when we first moved into this farm. We were poor back then but thanks to you, all our 5 children had wonderful lives and had their own happy family. Even now, we lived inside this beautiful house, in comfort, and away from misery all thanks to the hand of grace you reached out for us. "

Mergiann was more than pissed off to hear that all the money she sent was taken by this unknown family to renovate their house and live in comfort. All those years where she fought Talon's enemy to collect their bounty, were wasted on a bunch of greedy people.

Anger boiled so badly inside her heart that Mergiann started to cry with a face that's even redder than a cherry.

[Mergiann] - "Sure my money could have helped you in your early years but then later, why didn't you admit you weren't my mother? You kept taking my money and using it to buy good for you and your family while blinding me with lies! "

[woman] - "I... I didn't know... I thought it charity and then it was just free money... "

[Mergiann] - "There is no such thing as free money, greedy bitch! Now I want my money back! All those years of money sent, BACK! "

[woman] - "Well... I'm sorry... I can't. We all spend it on stuff... and this recent renovation of our house and farm... "

[Mergiann] - "Then give me the farm! Give me everything then! "

[woman] - "Look... I'm really sorry about this but I can't give you these. It's your fault for sending the money, we took it and you willingly gave us more. "

The rage inside her burned so badly that it looked as if her eyeballs were gonna pop out of her head. Karson turned to calm her down as in her eyes, there are only flames of rage waiting to commit a murder.

Mergiann closed her eyes and took a deep breath before standing up and asking direction for the bathroom.

[woman, in a fake smile] - "Down there in the hallways, and don't mind asking if you need anything. "

Mergiann quietly left the living room and headed instead toward the bedroom upstairs where she entered a small chamber. Once inside, she observed the room and its details one last time before blowing open a piece of the wall with a small explosive device. From it, she extracted a small dusty metal box and hid the object in her bag before heading downstairs into the bas.e.m.e.nt.

Inside the living room, Karson calmly ate a piece of cake before being called out by Mergiann who waited for him outside.

[Mergiann] - "Let's go, it's getting dark already! "

[woman] - "You two are already going? We will be having a barbecue tonight, it would be great if you joined us! "

[Mergiann] - "Can't do, we are in a hurry! Maybe next time? "

[woman] - "Of course, anytime, dear! "

Karson exited the house knowing that Mergiann is planning something sinister to get her revenge. After all, Mergiann never let anyone leave a bitter taste in her mouth without them tasting at least a bomb capable of bringing a tank down.

[Karson] - "What did you do? There are children there, you don't mean to blow kids up, don't you? "

Mergiann remained in a state of silence all the way up until they are far enough from the farmhouse to see the whole of the cultivated fields. From there, Mergiann dragged Karson into the bush where they had a clear view of the entire farm.

[Karson] - "What are you planning? Tell me, god damn it! "

[Mergiann] - "See my old house? The number one rule of an explosive expert like me is that what I can't have, others won't get it either. "

Then with an evil smile, Mergiann pulled a detonation switch out of her pocket and observed the farmhouse with binoculars.

[Karson] - "Oh my gosh! Are you taking the piss? "

[Mergiann] - "You bet I do! "

With a click of the button, the house collapsed on its own without debris or flame, just a quiet collapse where the luxurious house became nothing more than a ruin beyond repair.

[Karson] - "There could be people inside that bloody house! "

[Mergiann] - "Hey, I verified with my binoculars that no one is inside the house, so chill, dude! "

In a sigh of relief, Karson sat back into the bush and prepared to pack their bags to leave.

[Karson] - "That was the first "none messy" explosion I've seen from you. "

But Mergiann did not respond, she stood where she was without a movement or a sound.

[Karson] - "Hey! Let's move outta here before the authorities get us! "

Mergiann shook her head and turned to stare at Karson in a state of distress before kneeling to the ground.

[Karson] - "What happened? Are you all alright? "

[Mergiann] (in a whisper) - "I remember now why! "
