While staying within the city, Shengyn witnessed countless cases of human beings mistreating non-humans. In the streets, none opened doors to beast people, elves were looked at with disdainful eyes; forcing them to usually wear clothing to conceal their ears. There were next to no demons within the city, apparently while humanity is willing to persecute but tolerate non-humans, it was strictly against allowing any demon to be anywhere near the city. Apparently there was a demon invasion that occurred a decade ago, causing so much chaos that it took a long time to rebuild everything. Any threat of demons was harshly handled, including those who could make contract with demons-namely witches.

Shengyn wasn't truly sure what made witches and magic users different from each other. So, when he saw several witches tied to the stakes, about to be burned, he thought of it as a perfect opportunity to get some answers.

One of the witches being burned, a young woman by the name of Sylva, had resigned herself to her fate. There was nothing she could do, tied to by the ropes, even if she wanted to she couldn't use her Supremacy. It was over. As she heard the screams of her fellow witches as they were doused in flames, she awaited the moment when the sensation of pain will also reach her. That pain never came.

"Hi there" A young man was standing inside the flames, unhurt, the flames were just dancing around him , completely obscuring the view behind him.

"Are my eyes failing me? Have I died? Is this the other side?" Sylva hesitantly asked him.

"Not as far as I know."

"Who are you? How come you are not harmed by the flames?"

"Well, I actually managed to sneak here before they put you on fire. The fire that is burning right now is a magically created flame, under my control. As for who I am, I suppose witches should be most familiar with my kind" he brushed his hair off his forehead, now his single horn was in full view. One of the focused eyes was completely white.

"You are a demon!" She cried out. "Did one of my comrades send you? Is that why you are here?"

"No, I am not a demon bound by a contract, nor am I a demon looking for contract. Instead I have some questions for you."

"Questions? I am going to be burnt here, what can you ask from someone who is already dead?"

"Well, I for one know that dead don't need to keep secrets, so there will be less chance of being told a lie."

"True. I suppose I should accept my fate. Being given a few minutes' worth of talk with a devil might be the best parting gift this world has ever given me."

"I am a demon, not a devil."

"I suppose that is true. Well then, Mister Demon, what would you like to know?"

'She seems awfully calm for someone who is going to die soon' Shengyn thought. "I want to know what the difference between witches and magic users is."

She looked at him with a strange look as if he asked something very obvious, but then a smile appeared on her face.

"You do not know?"

"Please enlighten me then, if you're able" Shengyn was getting a little irritated with her playful demeanor.

"Magic users primarily use elements in order to accomplish their goals. Their abilities use mana to accomplish their objectives. Witches on the other hand use what we call Jin, otherwise known as Supremacy; sins."

"Supremacy, I have heard of it before, Supremacy of Power."

"Funny you should mention it" She smiled. "That is the name of the Supremacy that has latched on to you"

"What? I have a Supremacy stuck to me?"

"Indeed. But do not worry, Supremacy, like any other forms of energy is a tool, it can't harm you unless you want to."

Seeing him squint his eyes at her, she continued. "I suppose you don't truly know what the sins are, do you?"

"I have never heard of Sin of Power, I thought there were only seven of them to begin with."

"Oh, there are far more than just seven. And each witch is likely use a different one from the other. Supremacy is a type of power, energy called Jin, of which there is only one true one of each type. The ones who wield the true Jin of specific Supremacy are called Arch Lord of the Supremacy they wield. So, I suppose calling you Arch Lord of Power wouldn't be much of a stretch."

"I heard the name of Supremacy of Power from someone who fought me; he called his power Supremacy of Power"

"And what happened to him?"

"I killed him."

"Then that would explain why the Supremacy of Power has changed hosts and has been transferred to you."

"You said there were more than seven Supremacies, what other ones besides Gluttony, Sloth, Pride, Envy, Wrath, Greed, and L.u.s.t is there?"

"I am surprised that only those seven deserve a Special mention. I don't know every Sin there is, but I know of Jins of Protection, Bestowing, Control, Anger, Nothingness, Evil, Kindness, Vile, Oversight, Apathy, and Acceptance. That are the ones I know of, I am sure there are plenty more than that in the world."

"I see. So I have one Jin inside me already."

"Correct, the Jin of Power. It has the effect of absorbing portion of your defeated foe's strength into yourself, and it absorbs even more if your foe is killed by you."

"I see, then no wonder" Shengyn did experience huge spurts of growth after killing multiple opponents without truly knowing why, but now he had his answer.

"If there is only one of true Supremacy, then how come there are many witches using very similar powers? Aren't they supposed to be different by that logic."

"The answer is quite simple. While there is only one True Jin of each type, all it means that it is the most condensed form of the particular Supremacy. It does not mean there is only one, multiple people can use lesser form of the same Supremacy but only one is able to wield the True form of it."

"Can one use more than one?"

"It is plausible, but I would think it is extremely hard to control."

"I think I got everything I wanted to know. Well then, you have given me a lot of useful information, as a common courtesy, would you like me to free you?"

"To tell you the truth, no, even if you free me right now, the citizens of the kingdom will hunt me and my kind down. If I escape here, I will only endanger the others. It is for the best if I just disappear here."

"Well, that is your choice" Then he violently slashed at her ropes, causing the ropes to be cut into pieces. "But this is my choice." He put his hand upon her shoulder and used teleportation, taking both himself and the witch out of the burning bonfire.

Now that both of them were on top of the roof, watching how the remaining witches were burned down on the stakes.

"How could you? Why couldn't you just let me die there… Everything would be over if I was dead. How can you be so cruel?"

"Lady, I just got you out of bonfire, I am pretty sure that is not how you thank someone"

"Thank you? All of my allies were burned down before my eyes and I couldn't even rejoin them in the afterlife. Now I have nowhere to go…" She put her hands on her face and dropped on her knees. Sounds of sobbing were audible.

"Can't you rejoin your family?"

"I have no family to go back to. Everyone is already dead." She turned her face towards him. "Why? I didn't want to be saved. I just…"

"If you still want to rejoin your dead friends, I am not going to stop you" in all honesty, what Shengyn did was in many ways a cruel mercy. He tossed her a knife. What she does with it will be her own decision.

"Being claimed by fire is not your own will, but this is your own. Choose wisely" Then, like a puff of smoke, he vanished into nothingness, leaving a broken, sobbing witch on her knees, not knowing what she should do, to stop or keep going.

"A choice… that look in your eyes; that complete indifference. Oh, How I despise it. I swear I will return you the same favor. I will give you a choice, and we will see what happens to you then, demon!" She was extremely angry at him, so angry in fact that she took his knife drew his likeness on the ground and stabbed it with the knife.
