"What are your plans moving forward now?" Dr.Fate asked Batman as they were still preparing to leave Arkham Asylum, now that there was no way for them to get the answers they were looking for.

"Diaz is still out there and still a threat to Gotham. If he makes a move, I will be there to intercept it and hopefully capture him. If you find anything out, keep me informed." replied Batman as Dr.Fate was about to leave.

"Take care, Bruce." Dr.Fate said to Batman as he opened up a small portal for himself before they reached the door towards the exit of the building. In a mere moment, Dr.Fate went through the portal which connected to his tower as Batman continued to walk to the exit.

"Ha... Ha.....Ha...." in the distance, Batman could hear something. It was if a patient was trying to laugh, but that they could only talk with little to no emotions.

Hearing this voice, Batman completely froze as his skin started crawling with goosebumps. This was no ordinary patient, this voice, was extremely familiar, except, it was far too different compared to what Batman was used to hearing.

"Hey keep it down over there before I break out of this room and kick your ass!" a patient yelled to the voice. Only, the threat seemed to have done nothing to the person who was making it. The eerie and skin crawling noise made even the most insane patients feel a sense of dread and helplessness.

Batman seemed as if something took over his body as he continued following the voice until he reached the door where it was coming out of. Looking inside, it was very hard for Batman to see while keeping his focus on this person.

The person wore a purple outfit and had makeup all over his face. His hair was green as a swamp, and his eyes were filled with both rage and despair. This man was the Joker, except, instead of laughing, he was just whispering the words as if he was trying to say something else but was unable to actually communicate.

This was not the first time in the past two weeks that Batman has seen Joker in this state of mind, but, seeing the Joker in this condition made Batman feel horrified. Though, they had a good versus evil based relationship, Batman felt that no one deserved to go through what he was going through.

Recalling the crime scene for what felt like the twentieth time, made Batman's cheeks twitch as he watched the Joker. After several minutes of watching the Joker and still unable to help ease the man's pain, Batman was about to finally leave when the Joker looked up and spotted him.
