Chapter 11 - LIFE

"Who or what the heck is he?" Alexander Luthor wondered as he studied the results of the experiments he has been performing on him. He found this man accidentally when he was looking for a specimen from the trench. He had recently got hold of intelligence which had mentioned a strange amphibious creature that matched his specifications wash up dead on a shore which he had bought since it was close to the trench. However, what came as a surprise, was finding a live man under the dead body of the strange creature.

"Sir Luthor" a hologram of an elderly man in a white lab coat and pant, wearing a blue Hazmuth suit with a bubble helmet could be seen.

"Yes, prof. Daisuke, what has the results shown about the creature from the trench?" Lex Luthor asked as he closed his briefcase full of blood samples and looked at the holographic man and the results of his research.

"Apparently, it died due to a lack of oxygen, sir"

"So it can't breathe on land?" Lex asked slightly confused

"No sir, quite the opposite, it has fully adapted to perform optimally on both land and the deep waters" Daisuke replied amazed at the fact of such a creature existing right under their noses, undiscovered till this moment.

"Just get to the point!" snarled Lex, slightly annoyed of his precious research time being wasted by fantasies in the scientist's head.

"Well, it seems the cause of death is a piece of arm lodged in its trachea, effectively blocking its lungs from drawing air on land." the scientist replied cooly.

"Send me the blood work of the arm"

"already did sir"

"As expected..." lex exclaimed when he received the data from Daisuke and murmured to himself "The arm indeed belongs to the human we found, who had all four of his limbs attached"

"did you say something, sir?" Daisuke asked, wondering whether he missed something

"It's nothing Daisuke, you may continue your research" Lex went back to his laboratory with the briefcase when the hologram switched off.

There, on a bed not much dissimilar to a standard hospital bed, was a man with all four of his limbs bound.

'Guess it's time for another shot' Lex thought as he saw the man twitching, about to wake up any time soon. The man soon relaxed once again when he was injected with a massive syringe filled with a translucent yellow liquid.

"nighty night," Lex said, wondering just how many more tranquilizer shots will it take before this 'specimen' of his, adapts to this 'concoction' of his which has the potential to even kill a certain speedster. 'who knows! it might even be tomorrow as after all, it's been what 5 days since the man's captivity and the steadily increasing dose of the special tranquilizer' Lex thought sarcastically.

"LIFE? what is that?" Blitz asked Luthor, confused at what exactly he wanted him to do.

"Lexcorp Intelligence's Future Executive...you, along with others who may join this band, shall be one of the few who will hold significant power in the new company, Lexcorp Intelligence, which I will be starting" Luthor explained to the clueless but extremely dangerous piece of meat.

'Hah! that's just the name you guys will proclaim yourselves to be to avoid the scrutinizing gazes of the law and superheroes' Luthor thought

'Afterall, which group of superpowered individuals can go unnoticed when they are named Luthor's Impervious Fear Enforcers' Luthor gave a small smirk, which went totally unnoticed by Blitz...or did it?
