DC- New Age

Chapter 5 - Arrest

"Such a wierdo" Blitz thought as he slipped the card into his back pocket and continued home. On reaching home, he stripped himself of all his clothes except for his u.n.d.e.r.g.a.r.m.e.n.ts and laid on his bed. "What a mind boggling day" Blitz spoke to himself, as he had no one else to speak to "First I died, but ressurected for some reason only to meet a weird a.s.s man who wanted to invoke a demon...no, a devil inside of me, who later on seeing me rise from the dead, gave me his card to contact him when in need." all this in one day was too much for his puny mindto digest and hence he just gave up trying to understand what happened and just decided to get some sleep.

*Whee Whee Whee*

The next morning, Blitz woke up to the sounds of police siren "Which poor sod is gonna get arrested today? Not me I hope" Blitz chuckled at his own sentence as he had not commited any crimes, ever, in his life.

Having had a nice bath, Blitz came out in his bathrobe, made himself a nice cup of coffee and decided to go out and enjoy the warmth of the sun on his skin. However, the moment he stepped out he was greeted by a bunch of cops forming a semi circle around his entrance, with one cop with a very shiny badge, standing a few steps ahead in the centre of the semi circle.

"Mr. Blitz?" asked the cop with the shiny badge.

"yes?" Blitz doubbtfully replied, wondering as to why they were at his doorstep.

Suddenly the shiny badge cop handcuffed Blitz while the other cops were aiming their guns at him. "You are under arrest for assualt, attempted murder, theft and apparently even trespassing" the cop said, looking around my hideout while scribbling something down on his notepad.

Blitz was then taken into the police vehicle, without even being given a chance to change into proper attire.

"But what did I do? I'm innocent!" Blitz pleaded "that's what everyone claims" smirked one of the beta cops "everything will be clear to you in the court hearing, oh that reminds me you better have your own attorney if you even want a chance of getting out of this unscathed" the same cop told Blitz condescendingly.

Soon, Blitz was imprisoned in the police headquarters and just when he thought it couldn't get any worse, it was decided that due to certain circ.u.mstances, the court hearing would happen in Gotham and hence he would be tranferred to the custody of Gotham police.

When he arrived there, only one thing came to his mind "hellhole". Each and every cell was filled to its brim with maniacs, murderers, rapists and the poor. However, what was worse was that the police here were extremly burdened by their work due to the high crime rates and hence decided to let out some steam on the prisoners. Blitz especially was not spared when they read his resume. However, due to being one of the mildest offenders, he was let off with just painful rather than harmful treatment. He wasn't sure whether it was because they thought he did not deserve it or whether because he had his hearing in a few days and had he shown up with bruises, he could use it as an excuse to shorten or negate his sentence. Either way, any beating he took was only extremely painful and didn't leaving a single scratch or swelling on his body. This shocked even the officers, who then went about to boast of their so called 'techniques'.

Five torturous days later, it was finally the time for his hearing. Blitz was infact relieved and ready to go to prison as long as it meant escaping his current predicament.

On entering the court room, he was taken to the stand, after making an oath over the bible (though Blitz was an aethist) to tell only the truth.
