Mark noticed a few more stalactites in the distance and because of what happened earlier, with the Vampire Bats ambushing him, he began to check the ceiling more thoroughly. He did notice a few Vampire bats within the stalactites and one of them was particularly big. When he identified it, it said that it was a Vampire Bat Elite.

“Such simple naming sense.” Mark mocked.

Since the distance of Identify was just fifty feet, the bats noticed and flew towards him with what looked like hunger on their frightening faces. He immediately refreshed Barkskin and comforted by the fact that the Space Shield floated in front of him , he casted the Thorn Whip spell so there would be one more spell hitting the monsters while he was casting spells.

There were five bats including the elite. He then casted Void Slash to the group and Void Bolt to the elite hitting all the five monsters. The monsters were injured but did not stop flying towards him. When they were near enough, he casted Void Push and all the bats were pushed back. The Thorn Whip hit the elite since it was the nearest. He then used Void Slash again plus Void Bolt to the elite, killing all of the monsters.

Mark saw that there were four glowing orbs when the corpses disappeared. There were two items. One leather shoes and one leather pants. When he identified them, they only added two stats to Agility and Dexterity respectively. He then wondered if there were other parameters just like the ones in Diablo, like faster cast rate, skill when hit , MP when killed or some such things. Possibly there would be on lower dungeon drops. He then replaced his equipment with the new drops and were happy with the additional stats. The problem was there was no auto equip. He had to remove the equipment one by one once he was done with dungeon diving. He wished that there were separate equipment slots on his inventory where he can put in his equipment and the item stats would be applied regardless of what he was actually wearing but unfortunately, there was no such convenience. He destroyed the replaced items but did not get any crafting materials. He hoped that the reason for the low number of crafting materials was because of the low quality items and not that it was actually very rare.

Mark checked the Notification Window to see what the other two drops were. One was a skill point and he was happily surprised that the other one was two stat points.

“So I can get stat points from mobs.” Mark sighed, relieved from the fact that there would be other sources of stat points aside from leveling since he felt that the system was too stingy for giving him just one point every level. He decided to keep them for now because he needed to review the new skills that he received when he leveled up past level ten.

Mark made sure that all his defense buff were refreshed and continued exploring. The next group that he encountered was the largest group he bumped into so far in the Third Floor. It was four hobgoblin and four dire wolves. He could also see that there were two possible elites because there were two monsters bigger than normal. One of the hobgoblins and one of the dire wolves were elites. He immediately casted Field of Briar, a couple of Thorn Whip twenty feet to the left and right side of him then bombarded with Void Slash.

The Dire Wolves were much faster so they were able to get nearer him ahead of the group but Field of Briar slowed them down. The Thorn Whips were particularly nasty, hitting the enemies three times before disappearing.

Mark immediately casted a couple more Thorn Whips for added firepower. He then casted Void Push to the elite Dire Wolf who were getting nearer. He saw that his Space Shield was destroyed by an arrow from the Elite Hobgoblin but he was still calm since he still had Barkskin. He casted Void Slash then Void Bolt to the archer to distract it and then he saw that the Space Shield re-appeared. He continually casted all his available spells until all of the enemies were defeated.

The loot that he received from the group were not particularly special. They were two skill points from the elites, one iron bow, one iron spear, and one leather shirt which he equipped. He then destroyed the rest managing to get a couple of crafting materials. He noticed that it was truly getting dark and when he checked, it was already six in the evening. He realized that he had been at this for several hours already including the run that he did on the Second Floor.

Mark decided to complete the floor the next day so he immediately decided to go back to the portal. He now perceived the importance of a travelling spell then he thought of the skill Space Floating Disc. Since he had four skill points, he decided to add one to it.

Mark was so glad that he added a point to Spare Floating Disc since it allowed him to summon a translucent disc that could hover very close to the ground up to six feet. It had a fifty MP casting cost. A bit high, he thought but it would last for thirty minutes and can travel up to fifty kilometers per hour. He immediately casted it low to the ground and since he did not plan to confront anymore enemies, he sat on the disc and allowed it to go to its highest hover mode which was six feet. Then he traveled back to the portal in style laughing loudly. When he arrived at the portal, he controlled the disc to go down and then he went back home.

Mark was exhausted and exhilarated at the same time. He suddenly had the urge to go outside and ride his floating disc but he controlled himself. He laughed to himself and prepared a good dinner, meaning he replicated some steak dinner he stored in his Inventory from one of the restaurants that he went to. After dinner, instead of doing anything else, he just went to sleep.
