Demon Of Fairy Tail

Chapter 11 - 2 - 3 Years Later

I woke up screaming and covered in sweat, a cloak of blue flames clung to my form and around me embers burned on the ground yet not hurting me.

But my mind wasn't on that, I whipped my head around only to see I was in the same place, near the town and the forest. Looking forward the buildings were all burned, At my feet some burning bones were all that was left.

The sight of a half burned skull slowly getting eaten away by the ethereal blue flames enough to make my legs weaken. I dropped to my knees and looked at my hands, Dried blood from my training and from dirt. I... I- Don't feel remorse...

The realization making my gut upturn and would've vomit if I had something to do so, instead I dry heaved painfully, The shock at killing someone and the guilt of having no guilt was something I couldn't handle, Disgust at myself and at the part of me rejoicing and even being nonchalant.

'Why be remorseful? He deserved it.' A voice whispered to me. I shook my head negatively, This shouldn't be the case! It doesn't matter if they're sc.u.m. It isn't right to kill someone! to take away their life. No one deserves that!

'But do they?' It whispered back. 'They have killed, they enjoyed killing, think about how much blood is, was, on their hands? how much more bloody it would get?'

The world drained around me and I found myself in a darkness with a shadow of white.

'They enjoyed killing. They took away what is ours!' Suddenly a flicker of blue flames started.

'They took away Lux! to torture her? to sacrifice her? to experiment on her?! with no disregard for her life!' The flicker sped up and it is now a blazing flame the size of a child.

'But you don't care don't you?' Those words, the utter disregard, as if a casual realization caught me off, and when I realized the words I felt chills... The flames steadied and is now steadily flickering as a flame does.

"Your wrong! I do care!" I couldn't help but cry out. For a second I swore my white shadow had narrowed eyes.

'Do you really? Weren't you happy you'd get to live at her expense?' My stomach dropped. It was true, I couldn't deny it. I selfishly wanted to live, disregarding what they would've done with Lux.

'Your nothing but a selfish monster, one with no regard for others except his own. Even one you called little sister.' In an instant flickers of flame appeared around me, each of them grew to the same size as the other.

"Your wrong! I swear I'll save her!" They won't kill her right? They need her right? 'Your right... They won't kill her.' This time they refined in shape, I saw legs, I looked up to see flaming humanoids with darker blue flames for eyes and mouth, both of which were narrowed.

But they quickly turned into wide but still monstrous eyes wrinkled with amus.e.m.e.nt. Mouth sharpening into a sickening grin.

'After all, You have killed her!' They exploded and a dome of blue fire shot out far and the world came back. I looked at the clear ground around me, back to the still burning skull and for a second I swore in the remaining eye socket a blue light flashed.

"I... I killed Lux?" I felt as if cold water was dumped on me. Mages... wearing armor died it's impossible that she survived right?

'Yes, of course she wouldn't have survived. She was just a child!' The voice cackled.

"No! NO!" Screaming, I pounded the ground, The flames cloaking me responding to my anger exploding into a raging inferno and the skull burned away quickly as did the other bones.

"NO! SHE IS ALIVE! I KNOW IT!" Illogical and delusional but I couldn't accept it.

'Where? your heart?' It sarcastically replied. 'Do you even have one?' I could just envision a blank face with a mocking smile quirk even farther, farther than a human smile should be. 'Monster.'

"NO!"

~~~~~~~
I woke up, this time for sure. The makeshift bed soaked with sweat and a little scorched due to the cloak of flames around me. I slowly eased my breathing and let the flames seep back into me. I sighed and could only busy my mind. 3 years that dream has haunted me. Is it even a dream?
I stood up and my tail curled to the ground near me and grabbed at a bowl made out of clay. filled in it is water from rain collected over some rainy days.
I don't even know what to do anymore. I'm a demon, not only that, the son of Satan. The only demons from Fairy Tail were the ones made by Zeref, But does Satan exist? The big bad and lord of hell? Am I even Human anymore?
'Or were you ever human?' A voice whispered.
I s.u.c.k.e.d in some air and slowly relaxed my tensed muscles.
Years have passed since that day, I've been living in the wilderness unsure if I should approach humans. I'm a half demon. A Cambion. To them Demons are all dreadful creations of Zeref, at least for those on this continent. Beings only capable of death, destruction, and hate.
Years of pushing myself to the limits, Magically, Physically, and Mentally. I never gave up my training. Each day I would slowly ramp it up. While I don't think I'm near the level of Gildart's I know I'm powerful for a 12 year old. Monstrously so.
'Why wouldn't a monster be?'
This time I grunted and my flames blazed with intensity enough to set a nearby tree ablaze.
I shook my head and started running to the nearby lake. Without a second thought I jumped into the cold morning waters and let it distract myself. Lazily floating and looking at the grounds I thought about the future.
What the hell I was gonna do and how do I stop my demonification. I idly brought up a hand to reveal sharpened nails that gave off an illusion of glinting in the light.
Thankfully it wasn't blackened, if not I may have become a poster child for an Emo. With my long black hair, pale skin and eyes the same color as my flames as well as my tail with a tuft of black fur. If I had long black nails on top of that...
I felt a presence in the water reveal itself and move with bursting speeds, In the blink of an eye the water bubbled and boiled as my flames erupted. I felt it try and back away but my tail sn.a.k.e.d around it and I pulled it up.
From the water revealed a serpent with long fangs bared at me, I sent a lazy slash at it and felt my nails cut through its scale and flesh as if tearing paper, The bones a little harder but nonetheless still cut.
I sighed and swam to another part as the blood was soaking the water letting my flames recede but instead heating myself up to boil nearby water.
I'm bored out of my mind, sometimes haunted by voices and nightmares, but sometimes all the guilt, the paranoia fades away. Leaving me a feeling of normality.
Clenching my fists and feeling my nails press against my flesh I thought back to my promise. The day I awoke my powers...
The memories unpleasant and bringing my mood down. and with solemn resolve I resumed my training.
Unknown to me a shadowed figure watched from the confines of the forest. Slit pupils watching my movement. A long forked tongue flicker as it tasted the air.
~~~~~

Fiore, A lively town with a fair amount of people and home to the guild Fairy Tail. One of the best guilds only surpassed slightly by phantom, It's members notorious for the chaos they cause, Oh, if only they knew it would get so much worse.

Inside people were drinking and generally having fun, the atmosphere merry and not a single soul unaffected by the joyful atmosphere.

"Gramps" Small but elderly man turned, he held a tankard almost the size of his torso and with a drunken blush he slurred out. "Hai Erza?"

Erza, an armored girl with scarlet hair and side swept bangs almost reaching to her right eye, a pleasant brown, another distinct thing about her is the sheathed sword she carried. alongside that she currently held a single piece of paper, taken from the mission board.

"What is this mission about?" She asked, she pointed towards the mission that only had the words, Investigate deep inside Viridian forest.

Seeing what she asked about Makarov, the guild master, sobered up a little, he recalled the somewhat mysterious mission and told Erza the details.

"Well apparently deep in the forest near the mountains a hunter found stones that seem to have been somewhat melted, burnt trees, and small craters and the carcass of a few animals, Once they found out about this, he and the other hunters searched more and found similar things scattered through out the forest. Of course they suspect it is some sort of magical creature and wants someone to investigate."

Erza nodded and thought about what this all means, A strong creature with capabilities in fire enough to melt parts of stone, if the craters were small it means it's limbs are also the same, meaning more mobile and a smaller profile to hit.

"I'll take this mission gramps." She told the elderly man. He nodded but held a hand up. "Natsu!" He yelled, the rest of the guild stopped and looked curiously at their master.

A young boy with pink hair neared them. He wore a red shirt with a white sash around his waist, mustard colored pants and had a long white scarf with a scale like pattern. Curiously, his eyes appeared to be slanted.

"Yeah gramps?" The boy asked curiously.

"You and Erza here will go on this mission, The creature might have fire capabilities so this will be perfect for you." The elderly man stated simply.

"Hell yeah! Lets go Erza!" Natsu bounced on the balls of his feet obviously happy to be part of the mission.

Erza on the other hand pinched the bridge of her nose with annoyance, While not necessarily bad Natsu is dumb. He showed up around 2 months ago with the master and he is brash, loud, quick to resort to violence, and didn't even know how to read. And, claimed to have been raised by a dragon named Igneel.

Erza like the rest of the guild was suspicious over that matter and wrote it off as the imagination of Natsu, but she couldn't deny the strength of his magic. He called it Dragon Slayer Magic... Pretty stupid considering he claims he was raised by a dragon, and was taught by the dragon...

Anyways, his magic gave him resistance to flames not exceeding his own and the capability of eating flames to regain stamina and magic power. With a physical body superior to even most a.d.u.l.ts he proved himself to be a formidable mage.

"Come on Erza lets do this!" But a simpleton is a bit annoying to deal with.

But she knew not to question the master's decision, he didn't doubt her strength, he was merely worried, and it is a smart choice to bring Natsu along.

So she nodded and gestured for them to leave, Viridian forest isn't all that far and they wouldn't need to pack anything.

She watched Natsu bolt out kicking the door open and raising a dust trail all the way to the train station, She and many others sweat dropped while also became confused, When did Natsu possess speeds like that?

"Gramps we are gonna head off." She said goodbye to the diminutive old man who simply nodded and went back to drinking.

She walked along the road taking in the eyes of the crowd, a little confused but mostly amused by what they saw earlier. After all the eccentric nature of most of Fairy Tail is known by them.

Erza arrived to a pail looking Natsu with pleading eyes directed towards her.

"Can we walk instead?"

She palmed her face and sighed, She faced him and said simply. "No."

Honestly, How could he forget the fact he had horrendous motion sickness was beyond her.
