Devil's Contract

Chapter 5 - Beginning of Chaos Pt. 1

The sun is always red after a night of death. The hazy sky covered in the film of cloud unable to change its perspective.

Dark blue eyes opened and a cold, concrete ceiling greeted them.

"Good morning, Elesa," a voice said as the said person sat up.

"Is it really a good morning? I've never once thought of each day being wonderful or great. I've only ever known it to be painful," she stated as she stood up. The other girl, Abbie, looked at the ground.

Elesa looked behind her, "why did you stay instead of run? I'm sure I'm not the company you want nor expected. I even killed all those people as easily as a psychopath, yet here you are," she stated.

Abbie looked up at her, "you know. I've always been caged by other people. I don't have the power to take care of myself nor run away. You may have a lot of power, but I don't care. If you decide I'm a burden than take me out. I don't have anything else to live for so you'd be doing me a favor," she stated back.

Elesa looked at her, a budding emotion tingling at her heart. She took her hand and slapped Abbie across the face.

"You don't know the first thing about me. Those words you spoke, do nothing but provoke other's to take advantage of you. It's people like you that piss me off the most," she stated and stormed out of the building. Abbie looking at the floor putting a hand on her cheek.

"I...really am useless to this world," she whispered to herself gathering her knees and holding them close.

I sighed as I walked out of my room. A note was on the table.

"Aunt Rona, she really left early," I sighed with a yawn. She left a plate of food for breakfast, so I sat down and ate.

Today feels like it's going to be a long, dreadful thing. That means something big will happen.

Sometimes, contractors have a sixth sense. That means they can sense danger or a turning point in their lives. Like if they will die, or if something good will happen. Even if I'm not a contractor, I still have that sense since I'm always near Shiro.

"You can sense it too, can't you? It seems the contractor that came last night has been spinning fate on its hands," Shiro stated as if he were worried.

Spinning fate on its hands? Could it be a catalyst that has come? Should I worry about this?

"Shiro, where is this contractor?" I asked as I finished the toast I was eating.

"Are you going? So early in the morning? What about school?" he asked as if he didn't care about that stuff anyway.

"I'll go later, maybe during my lunch break. There are only easy classes today anyways," I stated.

"Well, it's in a lower part of the city. I didn't think you'd want to participate so readily," Shiro seemed to laugh.

It's not that I want to fight any of the other contractors, but if we let this particular contractor roam free something bad will happen. I know that much is true.

"The lower part? That's just the territory being overrun by gangs. Which gang is it that we're targeting?" I asked with a thought.

"It all depends on where she is," Shiro smiled.

So, it'll be up to my own instinct where I'll find this contractor. Now, I might not even want to go to classes today? It could be bad if I let this go.

"I'm on my way out, don't come to bother me," I ordered Shiro and left the house.

I walked down the street. It was a bit early, so not many people were out walking. Only the people who were heading to school were out. A lot of them wore the same uniform I was in.

How many people go to my school anyways? I never actually knew the number.

"Good morning Rennie!" a couple of squeals came from behind me.

These two are probably the only ones who aren't afraid to interact with me in school. It doesn't matter what they do, so long as they don't talk to me.

"Rio, Rein," I asked.

"It turns out that today will be something of an unusual day. Did you hear Rennie?" Rio asked.

"No," I shook my head.

"They are canceling classes today. There's going to be an assembly all day. An announcement over the newsletters was stating that since all of these murders are occurring, they might force the students to stay in the dorms," Rein stated.

"No classes?" I asked.

"Yep, just everyone inside the auditorium. Are you going to go or are you going to ditch? I know a lot of people who are going to ditch," Rio sighed.

If there are no classes today, then maybe I can go after that catalyst? This might turn out lucky today for me after all. My aunts' not here, and no classes.

"I guess we'll be seeing you next week then. You never go to these school-sanctioned events. Ah, but maybe we can get together later, it'll be our treat," Rein smiled.

I looked at them, "alright, thank you," I said and started running off in a different direction.

"There she goes," Rio said.

"Yep, we'll be seeing her later," Rein smiled and they headed off towards the school.

I sighed as I stared up at the sky, it was a big and blue color that felt lonely.

Will I ever be able to remember what happened yesterday? I don't really understand what had happened. All I can remember is waking up in that ally with my clothes mostly off and that body carved up. Did he explode from the inside out?

"An…Bran?" my brother's voice intruded into my thoughts.

I glared at him. I wasn't happy that he'd be going everywhere with me, it's like he's saying I was a little kid or something.

"Are you alright? You're just staring off into space," he was really worried and I could tell. That's why I felt bad about thinking he was so annoying. We were the only family we had, at least from our blood ties. Everyone in his gang became our surrogate family and I was really happy we could all be together.

"I'm sorry, but I really can't remember what happened yesterday. As I said, I just woke up with confusion," I sighed in frustration. It hurt not knowing anything at all. I felt useless to the point of being weak.

He sighed, still believing that I just don't want to say what happened. I wanted him to understand that I really can't remember, but because I was born with a photographic memory, I'm usually unable to forget things.

"Here's your ticket sir," a waitress said to my brother as she handed him a piece of paper.

Good thing no one else came along, then my brother would be unhappy with the bill.

I watched the crowd passing by and saw something unusual for this part of town. A woman from the upper areas wearing a uniform from the school there was walking down the street. The really strange part was that I felt like I've seen her before.

I got up and started running after her. It was impulsive, I know, but I really was curious.

Maybe I shouldn't make myself known? I'll just follower her for a little while, it might help jog my memory?

I hid behind a building when she stopped.

"Shiro, is this the right way?" she asked as a white bunny appeared. It was floating behind her and I had to take a step back. It was surprising and freaked me out.

Why doesn't anyone else see it? Are they ignoring it?

"Hmm, I thought you didn't want me bothering you today?" the rabbit talked.

How is that possible? What is going on? This person, she must be dangerous. Maybe I should turn back?

"Shut up, I can't get a hone in on the contractor. There's too many around here," she stated.

Contractor? I…can't give up. I want to know why I feel like I know her. Just get up the courage.

"It's this way," the rabbit started flying off and the girl ran after it. I followed behind as well. It was hard to keep up though. She looked to be my age but I could see the gap in our abilities.

Suddenly I knew where they were heading. It was a part of the town that was dangerous.

Ah, I know this area! It's a dangerous place where the gang called SYN, lives. The current leader is supposed to be super dangerous, and they have three high-level members as well.

I saw her stop in front of a rundown building.

Why here stop here?

The building looked like it would crumble any second. That didn't matter, because the woman was not there to stay. She waited for someone to come out, and that person did.

"Good morning, I didn't expect to see anyone here this early in the morning," the girl giggled, another woman was behind her. She was shaking, afraid that it was someone else outside waiting.

"You're the contractor that just entered this city, aren't you?" the woman asked, her teeth bared.

The girl sighed, she hoped to have a better conversation than this.

"I am Elesa, a contractor from outside this city. Wolf is my devil," she introduced herself.

"Names, don't mean anything to us, but I am Rennie. Why have you come to this city?" Rennie asked.

"I've come for a certain purpose, but I think you'll be a nice warm-up," Elesa smiled as she lowered her hands and spread her fingers. She was ready to fight.

Rennie sighed, she didn't want to fight so early in the morning but knew it wasn't going to be helped. She took out a small knife.

Rennie's ability is to erase and rewrite minds, but that's not a fitting fighting power. So her weapons make up for that. Any type of dagger, knife, sword, they can change the blood within a persons' body can explode. Depending on where she scratches her enemy will decree how much damage there is.

"I can see, you're a strong opponent. I'm glad I can fight against you," Elesa smiled, but she was filled with dark intentions.

Rennie got into a stance that prepared her for anything, Elesa was different. She was prepared to attack first.

Elesa raised one of her hands and pointed her finger at Rennie. With a thought, she shot her in her right arm. Rennie was taken by surprise by that attack and staggard back. She looked at her forearm as a little bit of blood trickled from the wound.

Rennie calculated the ability and figured out what she was up against. Now, unlike her foe, she was a step closer to defeating her opponent.

Elesa knew that Rennie was watching closely, waiting for the moment to attack. She was ready to take on the head of her powers. She always went into battle not knowing the skills of her opponents but always defeating them in the end. She took pride in that secondary power of hers. A smile crossing her lips.

"Elesa, you can do it. I've watched your powers in action, no normal human can take you," Abbie cheered.

Elesa sighed, a cheering squad was not what she expected.

"So, Rennie was it? Are you going to attack, or are you going to just stand there waiting for me to kill you?" Elesa asked.

"Arrogant, aren't you?" her speed was fast and she was in front of Elesa within seconds. Elesa was surprised, so surprised that she wasn't able to make a move.

"With this, you'll come quietly," Rennie stated as she scratched Elesa with her dagger on her right shoulder.

Elesa screamed with the pain in her shoulder as a wound appeared.

Rennie stood in front of her.

"Heh, you are strong aren't you, but you don't grasp my full power do you?" Elesa smiled as she placed her hand on Rennie's stomach. Her fingers became like wire again and went right into Rennie, surprising Rennie this time.

Elesa stood up as she held her bleeding shoulder, "I am Elesa, my weapon and power are one and the same. I can turn my whole body into a weapon if I wish for it. You have no chance against me."

Rennie stood up again as well. She bit her lip as Elesa walked up to her, Elesa's eyes were dark holes with no feeling left in them.

"I guess that's the extent of your ability. To think that you wouldn't even be able to do anything either. Well, I must be that strong," she held up her left hand, it's form turned into a sharp shape that would pierce through any enemy, "anything else you want to say?"

Rennie smiled, it was amusing to see someone fighting so hard, and she figured out that this wasn't the person who would cause a catalyst to occur, "arrogant, aren't you?" she dragged the dagger along her legs, and the other arm with swift movements. Elesa didn't have enough time to think about it.

Elesa felt the agony that she had not felt before and fell to the ground.

"Now, what is your purpose here?" Rennie asked with a sigh as she held up her dagger to give emphasis to her growing irritation.

Elesa laid in the pain that she was not familiar with, "are you going to finish me off?" she asked.

Rennie was surprised to hear anyone ask something like that, "no, I don't like killing other contractors like you. I'll only kill if a life is been in danger, but you haven't done anything like that," Rennie stated.

Elesa sighed, thinking that this person was naïve, "I won't tell you my reason for being here, so you better kill me or I'll come after you again," she stated.

"You're naïve child, how long have you been contracted for?" Rennie asked.

Elesa sighed, "four years. I've been able to hone my skills for so long, but I've been beaten. The best ending is to die, you'd be safer that way."

"I won't kill you," Rennie stated.

"Elesa, are you alright?" Abbie ran up to Elesa's side, Wolf sat next to her.

Elesa looked up at her, "I'm fine, in away. I'll heal up in no time, that's the beauty of a contractor," she gave a sad laugh.

"Contractor, huh? There's nothing good to be from that," Rennie stated as she was about to leave, but a woman was standing in shock and fear.

"Ah, so that's who was hiding over that way. Just a normal human," Elesa stated as she sat up. Rennie hadn't realized anyone was there, she was surprised by her own inept, and the real strength that Elesa hadn't actually shown.

"Who are you?" Rennie ordered.

The girl fell to the ground in fear.

"Bran," more voices came from on the other side of the area.

"Damnit," Rennie wasn't pleased that she let anyone follow her.

Elesa stood up and walked over to where Bran was sitting, "kinda cute, eh? Where are you from? It seems you've been touched by a contractors' power," Elesa smiled.

"Elesa?" Abbie and Rennie asked.

"I take it, that this is your doing, right Rennie?" Elesa asked.

Rennie was nervous about Elesa knowing how to pick out her ability.

"It's normal for contractors to be able to understand someone's ability by just looking at it. You don't have that because you haven't contracted," Shiro appeared again.

"W…what's going on?" Bran was scared to tears, what she had just seen was not normal. Even the person who was attacked was walking and moving again. She was confused and was afraid of the power being used on her thing.

"Bran," her brother appeared and was on the verge of attacking.

"That's not wise, do you see the situation here," Mesmer held onto his arm.

"Mesmer?" he asked with furious anger.

Elesa and Rennie looked at the group, Bran turned her head.

"Bran!" he exclaimed seeing his sister's pure terror, "What did you do?"

"She just came here and viewed something horrifying, that's all," Elesa acted as if she hadn't been beat in the first place, "come on Abbie, we've got work to do."

"Ah, are you sure you're alright?" Abbie asked.

Elesa looked at her with a smile.

Rennie looked at Elesa with curious eyes, "what work are you doing?" Rennie didn't want to make a scene or have anything go wrong in the city, or wrong anymore then it has.

"Wait," Bran's older brother was on the verge of attacking when Elesa stopped his movements. He was surprised and in shock. He's the leader of a gang, but a little girl was able to stop him.

"Now, boy. How many sins have you collected?" Elesa smiled, this time she was just joking, but her eyes still saw dark clouds huddling over people's faces, but it wasn't as dark.

"Ah, aren't you done playing around Elesa? You still have to make your wish come true," Wolf stepped next to her.

Bran's older brother looked at the fox talking, "I…It's talking?"

"Yep, a devil has many mysterious powers, but it is right. You're lucky today, you get to keep your life. Rennie, will you come with me too?" Elesa asked.

Rennie sighed, "for what?" she asked.

"I know something that might interest you, and also, you'll be really helpful. You can refuse though, I'm not a cruel person," Elesa stated.

Bran noticed that they were going to leave, she had to hurry up and ask. She got up and ran over to the leaving woman and held on.

"Bran?!" everyone was surprised by this act.

"Sh…she said you used some power on me? Why? What did you do?" she asked, her whole world collapsing.

Rennie finally recognized the girl.

"Bitch, you did something to Bran," her brother was about to attack. Elesa stopped his movements.

"It's not bad," Elesa stated.

Rennie sighed, "now I recognize you. You were in that ally yesterday. I guess some people can't get their memories erased, but I could rewrite this incident. I'll just rewrite everyone's memories."

Elesa thought for a moment, "I think we can use them."

"What?" Bran's brother wasn't happy to hear this stupid girl.

"You know about the gang here right? Abbie, can you tell me who these guys are?" Elesa asked and the whole group was shaken to fear on her sight.

"Y…you're that person in SYN," Bran stammered.

"Ah, SYN, what a fitting name. Can't wait to meet your leader, I'm sure he's quite strong," Elesa was pleased about the upcoming hours.

The group was taken aback by that statement.

"Are you crazy, a kid like you is no match for that monster. He took out the original leader with ease, and now commands almost all of the streets here," Bran's brother was now afraid.

Elesa looked at him, "really, I don't think he's that strong. I mean, he's just a new contractor. No matter how strong you are, the experience over the years is what counts. Scars from every battle, memories from every pain, lives that you take will always help you further your way into this world. If you've never left this city, you're nothing by dog meat to be stepped on," her eyes were filled with cold, dark emotions that gave a window into her soul.

"Grow darker, Elesa, it won't be good if it's not the darkest it can be," Wolf smiled when no one was listening.

"You're a crazy child, but you're not the catalyst. So I have no obligations to help you," Rennie stated.

Elesa looked at her, "really, you came here thinking I was the one who would kill everyone here? Man am I underrated. I'll tell you something interesting though, I was the one who killed all those people in the passenger car."

Rennie felt a chill run through her, "so you really are dangerous."

"Sorry, but if you aren't going to help me, then I will really destroy you. Also, don't get in my way, Rennie girl, and that goes for you humans as well. My wish will be granted and no one can stop me," Elesa began to walk away with Wolf and Abbie following her.

Rennie bit her lip.

"Ah, Bran why are you still holding onto that woman?" Bran's brother asked.

Bran let go as soon as she realized.

"I'll be going too, I don't want you following me anymore. It'll be dangerous, and I won't hesitate to kill anyone who gets in my way either," she stated and walked away.

The group looked around at each other. They had experienced a time that would cause the end of their lives to come to an end.

"Bran, don't you dare leave my sight again," her older brother ordered and she felt fear coming from more than one place.

At this time, another person sat watching the whole thing going on.

"So, that girl was something that could destroy this whole city, wasn't she? Even if that other girl got it wrong again," Alice sat crossed-legged on top of the building. She took out a cigarette and drug in a whole puff.

"Lady Alice, what are you going to do?" Krow asked.

"I'm going to watch where this development will go, I won't interfere with other people's lives. So I'll just watch, and maybe I'll be able to find the person I'm looking for?" she blew out a cloud of monoxide and other chemicals.

"Lady Alice is such a smart woman. Lead me to the place you want to see the most," Krow smiled and the scene closed for the meantime.

"Why are you looking for the catalyst?" a voice asked behind me, it was Elesa and the other girl.

I stopped in my tracks and turned around to face her, "that is my wish," I said.

"You know, I have some information that you might find interesting. If you're willing to help me that is," she seemed to know more then she has let on.

I thought about it for a moment and turned. She seemed to understand and followed me.

We sat at one of the eating area's I usually come to. It was the one I knew that not many people would sit at.

"I'll pay for you as you will give me all the information you have," I started, I had no intention of helping her with whatever she was planning.

"Abbie, you can join too. She'll pay," Elesa smiled and the other girl sat next to her. She really was abnormally timid. A stepping stone for other people to step on. No spring in her own steps that would land her out of this water.

"You're human, aren't you?" I asked.

She looked up, "I'm not normal if that's what you mean. I was a part of a gang until last night when they came to attack. I was dragged along, because of my childhood friend," she explained, her head was down the whole time.

"She's a traitor among SYN now, at least they would say that if they knew. Anyway, she's helping me, and that's why I need your help as well. I can take care of it on my own, but it could be a challenge since they will think high and mighty of themselves, just like you are now," she smiled and I felt that she knows a lot of things. That's why she wasn't as badly hurt as I had thought.

She'll definitely be a dangerous one to keep alive. I'll have to keep my eyes on her until she decides to move out of this city.

"I've been a contractor for four years now, and I'll say you've never contracted until three years ago, but you also lost something important at that time. That's why you register as a non-contractor because the devil isn't your own," she seemed to read me like a book.

I really have to kill her.

I grasped a knife and scooted it under the table, by that time she was pointing her finger at my forehead.

"Unlike you, my power is dangerous enough to kill you. Also, I've killed many more people then you have, and a lot of those include other contractors. I have the skills to face as many contractors who have no experience than anything. In one second you can pull that knife up and over the table, in another, you can stab me in the arm, and in another, my inner parts of the arm will break, but in those seconds, I'll have turned my bones into a strong wire that will release into your own head. We may be quick, but it all depends on what kind of ability your enemy has, don't you think?" she asked and I loosened my grip on the knife and it fell to the floor with a clank.

"Fine, I'll hold back the urge. Just tell me what you need," I couldn't loosen myself up though.

"Good, I'll be going up against SYN, but I am afraid that this is bigger than a group of idiots. It seems that the person who created the scenarios' in which we've been played, is in this city. He is the first contractor and the one who can create devils from our hearts. I take it you know who I am talking about?" she asked.

So, there was someone behind it. How does he do it? Where can I find him? Can he give me what I want?

"From your expression, I see you don't know much. We can't talk here, in the open like this. You never know who's siding with whom. Is there a place we can talk freely?" she asked.

That's the one thing I won't do. I can't take her somewhere with no one around. I know that I'm no match for her, after that fight and this now.

"I won't take you someplace like that," I stated.

She sighed, "I figured. Well, I hope there isn't anyone unwanted listening. I'll start with a few things first. A devil is a manifestation of one's own heart, the things we feel and the things we want. Those wishes, are how they are created. It occurs in a situation that will end with your own death. Now, another thing is that the devils' themselves have their own wishes. When they are created, they wish with their whole heart for the very opposite of your own wish," she explained.

The devils have their own wish. Then, what is Shiro's wish?

I looked over to Shiro, his face was calm and collected.

"In order to gain your trust, I'll tell you my wish. I wished to punish those with an impure heart. Wolf's wish opposes mine, but it's a little different. When my own soul has turned its darkest, or that's what he keeps saying. You haven't battled another contractor before, have you?" she asked all of a sudden.

In all the years, I've never seen another contractor. They won't come to me because I don't register as a contractor, instead, I am incomplete.

"You shouldn't continue searching for what you are. In the end, you'll never be able to unsee the end of all contractors," she stated.

"Even if you say that I still have the wish I want to come true," I looked down.

"Right, then will you help me. If you can help me with this, then I'll help you with your goals," she stated.

I was surprised by her on that comment. If I let her, then what will happen? She can't be trusted, but she can't be roaming around the city as she pleases.

"You are the contractor from the train. I felt that energy, and I couldn't differentiate until just now. You're the one who just came in yesterday," Shiro stated.

Train?

"You're the one that everyone's looking for!" I exclaimed.

She looked pleased, "Took you long enough. Other devils' may be able to tell us apart, especially when we first come into new territory, but if you learn you can make it so that no one recognizes you," she smiled.

This girl, she is extremely dangerous.

"That was my loss of control, I'd been cooped up in the car for almost three days. It's rather sad, but it's the same thing that happened the day I contracted. When I am in a situation linking me to when I was born as a contractor, I become blank. It doesn't mean I feel bad doing it though," she was cold.

I can't trust her, "I won't trust you, but I won't let you run around the city either. I'll help you, but I will never let you out of my sight," I stated.

She nodded in agreement.

"Wolf, Abbie we've got ourselves a new recruit! We'll make this city free from SYN, and we'll be able to rescue your friend from the clutches of death," she still didn't tell me what we were doing.

"I'd like to know what we're doing," I sighed.

"In one week, we'll be facing against a gang. They are using the name SYN, but I think it's connected to another organization. Anyway, I'm helping Abbie out. You'll be helping me too," she smiled.

"Why are you going to attack innocent humans?" I asked feeling so out of the loop.

"Innocent? No human is without sin, and I go crazy with their dark intentions. Also, these people or their heads of the group aren't human. They are all contractors," she stated.

Contractors, we're going to fight contractors? What is she thinking? Starting a fight in the city, especially if they are powerful, it'll only lead to death.

"Innocent people will get hurt," I stated.

"No they won't, that part of town is only used by the gangs that take control," Abbie stated.

Right, she was a part of the gang, but what is her story. I don't think that it's coincidental that Elesa met her. What is Elesa planning?

"Elesa, why a week? The gang should already know right? How can you be sure they won't come for us for a week?" Abbie asked.

Elesa smiled, "that's a secret."

No, really…what is this girl planning? I can't get a real feel for her. She is definitely one that can't be messed with. Will, we really be allies or will she betray us in the end?

"Ah, and that girl, Bran, she seems to have an interest in you," Elesa said all of a sudden.

"What?" I asked with confusion at the sudden change in the conversation.

She pointed to an area across the street. A girl was standing there, watching us. Also, her…well, I don't really know…but he was there too.

"I sense something interesting from the guy, I wonder if they will join us?" Elesa seemed to be enjoying herself.

What is this world coming too? I can't trust anyone at all.

The girl noticed that I was looking so she hid behind the guy.

"We should invite them, I'll pay if you can't afford it," Elesa smiled.

What can a homeless girl have on her? She doesn't have anything at all.

She seemed to read my thoughts, "I'm not a kind person, and I view everyone as a sinner. So, I loot whatever they have after I lose control," she smiled.

This girl, she's becoming worse by the second.

"Well, I think I'll be going instead. I don't think letting other people in on this is a good idea. This is a problem only contractors should handle. I think you don't need to join in either," I looked at Abbie for the last statement.

"Some people have a power about them, only contractors can feel it. You have nothing, and your abilities are really worthless, could it be that they don't belong to you, but just the body?" she asked and my temper flared as I punched through the table. Everything flung up.

"Hit a raw nerve, I see. Well, what do you propose?" she wasn't sorry at all.

"Hey, what's the matter?" the manager asked.

"Nothing, I'm leaving," I stated.

"I'll pay," Elesa said as I was walking away. She started following, but I wouldn't acknowledge her. No one deserves to be trusted, especially a psychopath like her.

"Children, with no control," a voice made me stop as a woman came down from the building.

Elesa seemed surprised, "Ah, you're….you're….you're Alex!" she exclaimed. She got it wrong as the older woman's expression was a mixture of annoyance and irritation. Though I'm sure those two things are the same no matter how you put it.

"I decided I wouldn't interfere with you, child, but I believe you have information that I need," the woman stated choosing to ignore the name from before.

Ah, damn. Just when I thought I could get out of this, now this happens. What is this woman, and are we going to get caught up in a fight.

"I can smell the scent, of death. How many sins have you committed?" Elesa's eyes seemed to change. They darkened to an almost hollow color.

Shit, this is a really bad situation. I need to get everyone out of this area, now!

"You can't, there will be no time. Now, this will be a fight you should watch. A true battle between contractors. This will show you the future you so boldly have wondered down," Shiro stated and I felt a chill in the air.

A real battle between two high-class Contractors. The outcome wasn't going to be so easy to claim. Between the two, who would be stronger? I could only decipher from the experience I had with Elesa, but I have no clue what this woman is capable of.

I swallowed hard, fear was overtaking me.

A true Contractor fight, how many have these two actually been through? I can feel that, neither one wants to lose and that a path of mystery was overflowing them.

Elesa stood mere inches from the black-haired woman. Her dark eyes reading the situation, waiting for the right move to appear in front of her. The black-haired woman watching and waiting for the other to make her move first.

A game of chance and fate's hands intertwine each faucet of the ladder. Waiting for those destined to soar high above it's ticking hands.
