Devil's Word Magic In Fairy Tail

Erza and Laxus stood facing each other at a distance of five meters in between them, both ready in a battle stance.

"Then, may the third trail… Begin!" Gramps yelled out, slashing the air with his hand as to initiate the start of the fight.

I myself quickly cast a barrier around the area where we, the spectators, were located as to not burden the two fighters during their all-out fight.

Upon the erection of the barrier, Erza moved in towards Laxus at a low posture, her classic wing hilted sword in hand. She only needed a single breath to reach Laxus' position and strike from a downwards angle in a swift upward motion across Laxus' c.h.e.s.t area.

He however, did in fact dodge the sword strike by bending slightly backwards. Laxus then proceeded to cover his entire body frame in lighting magic as he sent a barrage of lighting fast punches towards Erza's direction.

Erza's reaction was simple, she used Requip before Laxus had even dodged, as she could see a fragment of the future through Lazarus' passive abilities.

In her hand she held a magically enhanced shield made by yours truly. The shield was made with electric based resistance in mind and did a fine job stopping Laxus' attacks!

Seeing as his fists were ineffective, Laxus quickly ducked down for a leg sweep in hopes to fell Erza, though she easily saw through it and dodged by hopping in the air whilst also initiating a front flip kick in the air, knocking on Laxus' dome hard enough to force him to curve his upper body downwards by a few dozen degrees.

"Yeah! You're doing great Erza!" Ultear yelled out, cheering for her friend.

"Go, go Erza! Hahaha!" Cana also laughed, enjoying the show.

Erza hopped again, this time a good distance away before requipping a spear with a fire enhancement which she promptly chucked at the still dazed Laxus.

"Don't get c.o.c.ky you brat!" He roared out, pushing his right hand forwards and grabbing the flying flaming spear in a backwards grip before doing a 360 degree spin and chucking the spear back at its sender with a dosage of his lighting mixed in.

The spear flew nearly five times faster than when Erza threw it, but still she could see it prior to it being thrown back and moved to dodge it accordingly.

The power to see the future was impressive, albeit limited in her case. As what she couldn't dodge, was Laxus' high speed rush when he bolted towards her immediately after throwing the spear.

Since she was preoccupied with dodging her own spear, Laxus had the time to land a knee strike straight in her stomach area, sounds of metal begin pounded on were heard as she was sent flying a good dozen or so meters away and onto the ground.

"Come on! I thought you'd be able to take more than that Armor girl!" Laxus yelled out, outstretching his hands to the left and right sides.

"Finish her Laxus!" Freed, who had seemingly managed to get back on his feet, cheer on his 'idol'

Laxus gathered some magic in both of his palms, before sending two balls of thunder towards where Erza was laying.

"Move! Erza!" Gray yelled, trying to get her to respond.

"*Cough* Darn it, I know… *Cough*" Erza muttered, before using her legs and arms to do consecutive backflips in order to dodge the two attacks.

"*huff*… *huff*…" After taking that strike, she had obviously lost her breath and needed time to recuperate…

But would Laxus let her have that time?

I'd have to say no.

He moved as fast as a bullet, initiating a flying lighting covered kick towards Erza without a hint of holding anything back.

She had no time to dodge, so instead she held out her sword in front of Laxus' trajectory, blocking the hit with her sword's side while being pushed back through the air with Laxus' body propelling her further.

Laxus charged up lighting in his fist, enough for a big ball of electricity to form over it as the two fighters flew through the air. He quickly retracted his extended foot and using his other leg he propelled himself from the ground!

With the high momentum, he buried his fist towards Erza who was unable to do anything to stop the attack from hitting her straight in the stomach!

She crashed in the ground with enough force for a small crater to form, lighting explosions ensuing at impact as tiles of stone flew in all directions!

"Erza!" Gray, Natsu and myself yelled in unison.

"Hey! Laxus! If you hurt her I'll beat your a.s.s later!" Cana yelled from behind the barrier, knocking repeatedly on it with an angered expression.

Laxus on the other hand just scoffed, seemingly annoyed by Cana or maybe just displeased that he couldn't break through Erza's armor. But either way, he was certain she would not stand back up after that amount of force hit her straight into the ground.

Still, he walked up to her and placed his foot over her head, smashing down with great force before speaking.

"See that red head? This is your rightful place, under my foot! Hahahaha!" He laughed, ticking me off immensely.

Honestly I was about to rush in to beat his a.s.s while he was walking away with a smug look on his face were it not for the fact I noticed Erza standing back up.

"Huh? You still wanna go girlie? I thought I already made my point clear." Laxus sneered at the wobbling Erza who could barely stand up right.

"Hehehe… All according to plan." She muttered with a laugh, grinning at the sword at her hip.

"Are you gonna draw that sword? You always keep it at you side, I'm kind of interested actually." Laxus asked, crossing his arms with a look of contempt in his eyes.

"That… I won't." Erza said as a wave of magic power suddenly welled up all around her, shocking everyone present.

"W-what?!" Laxus was taken aback, as he looked at the small battered up girl.

"Hooh? What's this…?" Gildarts said, having his interest piqued.

"She suddenly multiplied her magic power output by a ridiculous amount… Is that some kind of magic of hers we didn't know about?" Ur asked, amused at the sight.

"Mmm…" Gramps simply pondered as he looked towards the Sword on Erza's side, Lazarus.

His assumptions were most likely correct, as I was also thinking the same.

Lazarus did say that Erza getting stronger was opening new doors and new possibilities for them both…

I wonder, except for something like Future sight, what else does that sword hold?

I guess I'm about to find out…

"Thank you, Laxus. I'll use your strength wisely." Erza said with a grin, as she suddenly wore a serious expression. "Requip!!" She roared.

Many weapons from within her armory suddenly sprang out above her, and by many I mean at least a hundred and fifty…

Maybe more?

The weapons started spiraling in a giant vortex of steel as they moved towards Laxus, who could only look on at the tornado that was going to sweep right through him!

He tried to back away, however he found out that Erza had actually appeared behind him! A blue light shining around her neck area.

"What!? You!! How?!" Shock filled Laxus' face as he looked towards his opponents eyes, radiating a strong fighting spirit right at him!

Erza was using the magic item she got from that guy at Crego Island! The division commander guy!

Wait… I forgot his name…

Javos? Jervis? I don't really care, but to think she still held on to it…

Guess it ended up being quite handy huh?

Laxus on the other hand probably wouldn't agree on that, as he had no time to react to what followed up!

The weapons spiraling in a vortex suddenly vanished, revealing but a small green gem which cracked immediately after its use.

Turns out Erza had used not one but two magic items! An Illusion one and teleportation one…

Sweet!

Hey but where did all that pent up magical power go to?

Before I could even think it through, Erza Requiped a giant hammer in her hands, grasping it tightly as the afore mention power concentrated in her hands…

With a wide, fast swing, Erza roared while bashing Laxus with the hammer! The strike held all of her strength!

Its force was enough to create a shock wave that cracked the stone slabs underneath and also created a sound akin to that of thunder, ironically being directed at the lighting dragon slayer himself.

Laxus had no say in his fate, as he flew through the air like a cannon ball and crashed right into my barrier, shattering a small hole through it on impact!

"DAMN!" I yelled out, surprised at the force of Erza's strike.

"LAXUS!" Freed yelped out, shocked at the revelation that his 'idol' or whatever had just been utterly destroyed by a twelve year old.

Gramps quickly extended his hand to grab the flying Laxus before he crashed into the maze wall.

On closer inspection, it became apparent that the man was unconscious.

"Haaa…" Gramps sighed, seemingly thinking something to himself before speaking. "Winner, Erza Scarlet!" He announced pointing at the wobbling Erza.

"Wooooohooooo!!!" Cana jumped up with a cheer, happy that Erza had won

"Yeahhh!!!" Gray and Natsu also raised their fists in the air in unison, as they looked at Erza with Reverence in their eyes!

"I have a lot of catching up to do…" Ultear smiled wryly, now knowing that she wasn't really training hard enough. But she definitely was also happy for Erza winning the fight!

"Tell me about it…" Lyon barely whispered, as if to make sure no one heard him.

I looked to Erza myself, before smiling broadly and yelling out cheerfully. "Nice job Erza! Laxus will be having a sore back from that batting for weeks to come! Hahaha!"

"Hahaha," Erza laughed weakly at the sight of us cheering her on. "Thanks you guy…-" Her muttering response was cut short as she began to fall down to the floor.

"{Teleport}!" I said and quickly appeared next to her in order to catch her before she could hit the ground.

"Hey, you okay?" I asked, holding her in my arms as the others ran to us in a hurry, obviously worried about her.

"I'm fine… That last attack just took it all from me…" She barely whispered with half closed eyes.

I simply nodded at her words.

"Right, you can rest now. Don't worry, you most definitely aced this exam!" I said with a grin, to which Erza smiled before entering her own dream land.

The others just arrived to our location and frantically started asking if she was okay, I soon managed to calm them down saying she fell asleep.

"That's a relief…" Ultear breathed out a sigh of relief.

"Yeah, after doing something like that I'm not surprised she's tired." Lyon pointed out.

"That was a seriously strong blow though!" Gray added, still mesmerized with the intensity of the attack.

"I'd hate to be on the receiving end of that, haha!" Cana joked.

"Mhm… Erza is scary…" Natsu said, to which everyone but me nodded to.

"Aww come on, she's not that bad." I said trying to defend the unconscious victim of such claims.

Gray simply placed his hand on my shoulder, and spoke my name while looking me dead in the eyes. "Arthur."

"Yes?" I asked, a bit taken a back and confused, still holding the sleeping Erza.

"Erza is scary." He said with a grim expression, once more repeating Natsu's words.

Everyone but me nodded again.

"Hehehe…" I simply giggled at their antics.

"Oh, that's right! How's Laxus?" Ultear suddenly brought up the other unconscious fighter.

"Oh right. Forgot about the guy…" Lyon said and we all looked to his location.

He was resting on Makarov's giant palm, Freed frantically yelled at him asking if he was alright or if it hurt anywhere.

Apparently he had woken up.

I took Erza in a princess carry and walked with the others to where Laxus, his protégée, gramps and the duo of S rank wizards were.

"Yo! How ya doing big guy?" I asked with a grin.

"… Shut it Arthur!" Laxus said, turning his head away from me, as if avoiding eye contact.

"Alrighty then. See ya later mister grumpy." I said and moved my gaze to gramps.

"Since we're done here for now, maybe we should head back home and let these two rest?" I proposed.

"Eh? Don't you still have to fight my dad though?" Cana asked.

"Yeah, but we can do that at the guild." I simply commented.

"Do you wanna break the damn place to bits…?" Gray shuddered at the thought.

"Hey! Even if we break it, there ain't nothing I can't fix!" I said with a grin.

"True enough." Lyon shrugged.

"Mmm… Yes, it would probably be best. We did kind of want to have the guild watch this fight anyway, hahaha." Gramps said with a laugh.

"I wanna see that fight soon too! Come on Arthur, let's go, let's go! I'm all fired up now!" Natsu half yelled, reeling with excitement.

"Well what are we waiting for then?! Let's get going and get this fight on the way already! Hahaha!" Gildarts said with a laugh.

"Hey, hey… Shouldn't we wait for Erza to wake up at least…?" Ultear asked.

"That would be ideal, she wouldn't wanna miss my fight! Haha!" I said with a laugh.

"Of course, she'd want to know if she's the only new S rank after all! Hehehe!" Ur said with a giggle, to which everyone smiled.

Erza had claimed the S rank for herself!

After that short exchange of words, I opened a portal leading to the guild infirmary where we left both Erza and Laxus at.

The others decided they'd go rile up the guild members with the news that Erza had been the one to pass and that I would soon be having a bout with Gildarts himself to see if I myself could also pass.

Needless to say I could hear the cheers from the infirmary itself. Haha…

Erza was sleeping soundly, and Laxus wasn't about to part with the silence as he probably felt down about losing like that to her.

Prideful guy, ya know?

I simply stood by her side, waiting for her to wake up while entering in a conversation with the whole reason she won over Laxus.

-"Lazarus."- I said, using telepathy magic to communicate with the sword.

-"Yes, what is it Arthur?"- The sword responded.

-"The f.u.c.k was that? Revenge counter?"- I asked with all of my flabbergasted self.

Seriously! What the actual hell was that!?

-"Revenge what? No, that was just one of my passive abilities that Erza unlocked recently."- Lazarus replied, a bit taken aback by my bluntness.

-"No shit, what is it though?"- I asked, a bit agitated.

-"Well, it's an ability that allows my user to use the damage sustained within a battle as a means of attack. Once the damage is high enough, the user can unleash all of the damage sustained together with a portion of their vitality, or in another sense stamina, and conjure up an immense power for one single blow."- Lazarus explained.

-"… So basically it's Revenge Counter?"- I asked once more.

-"I don't know what that is, but yeah, sure. Let's go with that."- He agreed with me.

-"Seriously, what else can you do?"- I heaved a sigh as I placed a hand over my head in an attempt to alleviate a headache that began to surface.

-"The better question is, what else can't I do? Hahaha!"- The sword said with a laugh, seemingly dodging my question.

-"Ugh, anyway… Don't you think it's about time you revealed yourself to the guild? Even gramps started to notice you were more special than just decoration you know?"- I asked, stating the obvious.

For some reason until now, Lazarus had asked both Erza and me to keep quiet about his existence.

-"I'll do that soon enough, once Erza is strong enough and a certain power of mine is unlocked… That will be fun."- The sword seemingly snickered in the end.

This guy is planning something mischievous isn't he…

-"Alright, guess I'll just have to wait on that. Don't hype me up just to disappoint me later okay?"- I said, pointing at the sword with a finger.

-"Hahaha! Don't worry, you'll love my grand entrance!"- Lazarus said, to which I could only sigh.

It's been a long day…

The whole ordeal with Zeref has gotten me real tired, although the guys at fairy tail did alleviate the stress somewhat…

I honestly don't feel like fighting Gildarts at the moment…

Hopefully Erza's sleep schedule agrees with me on that one.
