Chapter 1 - Disaster All Around The World

One day, portals appeared in every country on Earth. People became panicked. At the same time, every person from babies to old people, got a system with a notification that appeared immediately after they got the system.

[Welcome to System.]

[Quest: Defeat the monsters.

Description: Monsters will now spawn one per portal existing. Kill them all and collect all the dropped items.

Reward: Clear all of the radiation caused by nuclear weapons. Access to classes, skills, magic and levels.]

The first reaction most people had was, "A game message?"

However before they could ask any more questions, monsters appeared from portals. Without a delay every country sounded the highest emergency warning. However it was too late.

A lot of people had already died. Seeing their friends and family die, people became panicked. With this the whole world fell into chaos. They started going into bunkers. They felt they would be safe there. It was the only place that could protect them right now.

Cries from a lot of people were heard everywhere. "Mom, dad. I do not want to die!"

"Son hurry up!"

"Give me the baby. We will be faster."

"Lucian, my son. Hurry up!"

Families were still escaping and running into bunkers. Meanwhile, emergency sounds could still be heard all across the world.

With an emergency like this all of the soldiers were called to army.

Countries sent all of the soldiers available to defend. All of the available artillery was used. All of the planes carrying bombs were also sent out. In other words, every possible weapon was used.

They couldn't be too slow. The moment the monsters appeared they already destroyed a lot of buildings. The only thing they could do right now was to hurry up and save as much people as possible and kill those monsters.

"Ready! Shoot!"

Every weapon able to shoot, fired at the same moment aiming for monsters.

Boom!

An explosion sounded out and smoke rose up. A huge cloud of smoke covered the place where the explosion was.

Everyone knew the power of weapons they had. They were sure that they killed the monsters. "We did it boys!"

Everyone cheered.

All of the sudden a roar sounded out from inside the smoke. Hearing this everyone became shocked. It mean that the situation became even worse than before.

"It didn't work! Retreat!"

However, they weren't fast enough and were killed by the monster that appeared from the smoke. The monsters seemed enraged. They didn't stop and were just killing everyone in their sights.

Having no other choice, generals immediately reported the problem.

Emergency reports sounded from each country.

"Sir we failed."

"The monster is too strong."

"We cannot win."

"Weapons are useless."

However a few of the countries received positive news.

"We did it."

It seemed that in some countries the monsters were killed. Although the monsters were killed there, it was only a small number. The cost of that was huge. In other words, many people died.

Hearing the reports, the presidents of each countries where the monsters weren't killed, had no other choice. They stood up and called somewhere.

"Launch all of nuclear weapons. The targets are those monsters that appeared."

After hearing the order, the weapons were launched. They were headed in the direction of monsters. Their aim were those monsters.

"Calculating the time to reach the destination."

"Time calculated."

"Countdown beginning."

"60 seconds, 59 seconds, 58 seconds..."

People hiding in bunkers were hoping to survive this disaster. Everyone who have seen the launch of the nuclear weapons were hoping that the monsters will be killed.

The time till explosion was running out.

The only sounds heard on Earth were now the destruction that monsters were causing, prayer of people inside their bunkers and the countdown.

"5 seconds, 4 seconds, 3 seconds, 2 seconds, 1 second..."

In the last second all of the world went quiet. The humanity never experienced this type of silence ever before. It was as if the world didn't even exist.

Then...

Boom!

Very loud explosion was heard and a very strong shock wave appeared. Buildings were destroyed, forests disappeared, smoke covered the beautiful blue sky, a lot of animals were killed. In other words, the planet Earth was almost ruined.

But the most important thing right now was...

"The monsters are dead! Yes!"

Seeing the results the people could see this were overjoyed. However people that were locked in bunkers had no idea what happened. They just heard an explosion and the ground shook. As a result they became even more afraid.

At the same time the president of USA ordered, "Calculate the percentage of people alive right now!"

This was a very important information.

The person in charge of that field said nervously, "S-sir, that is impossible. There was too much destruction. There is no way to calculate that."

"I do not care. Use any means possible and give me an approximate number."

"Yes sir." The worker started working on that immediately. With the special machines they had there it wasn't impossible but it was still close to impossible to do that. Still the order was directly from the president so it was needed to be done as precise and as fast as possible.

There was so much danger inside. Everyone was worries for their families and friends. They were also wondering how it is in other places.

The higher ups of every country still stayed inside the main control rooms. These control rooms were underground and were reinforced by very strong materials so they were all safe. They knew they needed to survive.

"Sir, radiation is spreading all over the world. It seems that the world will be covered in radiation," said another worker.

Somewhere in a small town in Kansas.

The door of the bunker opened and a kid that was 7 years old went out. While the kid went out, his father and mother were still in panic because of what is happening outside. Then, due to sensing the wind inside the bunker, they checked what is wrong.

The doors were open. They fell into a panic. Their son was nowhere to be seen.

"He went out! Quickly let's chase him!"

The kid walked quite far and climbed up to the highest pile of rubble he could. He looked around.

He was still a kid and had no idea that he shouldn't be outside right now.

After looking around, he looked down and found some sparkling things lying on the floor. "Whoa. What is this?" He never saw anything like that.

While he was getting nearer he then could see that shape of the sparkling things. "Cards? Why are they here? They are even sparkling. So cool!" That's right. Those sparkling things were actually cards. As a 7 year old, he played a lot of games and this kind of thing seemed really interesting to him.

A cards lying on the floor and were even sparkling at that was very strange in this situation.

He was taught by his parents to not touch things that were not his and things that he didn't know about. But his curiosity beat him so he went and touched one of the cards.

All of the sudden, a System message appeared before him. It shocked him.

[Do you want to collect this item?]

[Yes / No]

"What?! Item? What does this mean?"

While he was wondering about that, he clicked yes and the items disappeared. At the same time, another system message appeared before him.

[Congratulations. You are the first person to pick up the items from a monster. As a reward all of the items from the monsters killed right now will be given to you and you will also receive a larger inventory.]

He was looking at the System message right now.

All of the sudden he heard his mother's voice from far away.

"Lucian come back here right now!" That was his mother's voice. She was scared by this. Who knew what could happen in next moment.

"Quickly! Get him and hurry back. It's dangerous," yelled the father while running behind the mother.

Shortly his mother got to him and picked him up. "Quickly let's return to the bunker." She was afraid. Without any delay, they ran back to the bunker.

"Lucian you scared me. Do not do this ever again!" Said his mother. She was really angry at him. Eventually they returned back to the bunker. They closed the door and finally took a breath of relief.

But then suddenly a System message appeared before every person still alive. It was the notification of the quest being completed.

[Congratulations for clearing the Tutorial Stage. Reward: Clear all radiation caused by nuclear weapons while the quest was active. Access to classes, skills, magic and levels.]

[You can now enter the portal to another dimension. Each country has it's own portal. Inside, you will battle different kinds of monsters. From these monsters you can get items, materials, skills, spells, stats, credits or even hidden classes.]

[You can leave the dimension whenever you want except when fighting a boss. At that time leaving is not possible until the boss is beaten. If you die in that dimension you die for real. There are also jobs. Blacksmith, Alchemist, Chef, Runemaster, Crafter, Jewelcrafter.]

[Each person can only have one job, unless one gets a bonus job slot from a mission or a treasure c.h.e.s.t.]

After reading this message people had different reactions.

Underground base of the USA.

"President, the number of people alive was calculated."

The president of USA looked at the worker and asked, "How precise is the number?"

"It should be pretty precise. If it isn't precise, there still shouldn't be much deviation from the real number." After all the exact number was impossible to calculate.

"So? Smith, tell me the damn number already!" The president was getting angry.

Smith was sweating all over while looking at the number that was calculated. "There should only be about 80 million people left on this planet. That means that only 1% of all people survived this disaster."

"Are you kidding me?!" The president was anxious. This disaster caused so many deaths.

"N-no sir. It is true." The worker replied nervously. He was also shocked and scared by the number at the same time.

Inside the bunker, Lucian, his mother and father were all sitting down and still panicking a little. They tried to calm down but it didn't work.

Suddenly a System message appeared before every person on this planet that was still alive. It showed the stats of the person.
