Disastrous New Age

Chapter 10 - A Hidden Class

Inside the portal, within the huge forest.

"Everyone is here, it's recommended to find some people to team up with you, so the chance of dying is lower."

This was one of the best plans for students who came to the portal for the first time. If they didn't team up, there was a bigger chance of them dying.

All together there were exactly 201 students at this place. They teamed up so there were about 5 people on each team, with some exceptions.

The only one who didn't team up with anyone was Lucian. He already had experience with fighting inside the portal and had also more knowledge about the terrain there than the other students.

Then Instructor with hawk eyes who was named Bruce said, "As there are only 10 of us Instructors here, we will be following some of the teams. There is still a chance that teams can group together more so there are more students that we can protect. Anybody wants to change their mind and join together?"

Some of the teams raised their hands and got together. Now there were only 27 teams.

Then Instructor Bruce asked, "Is there any team who wants to go without an Instructor protecting them?"

Some of the team leaders raised their hands. They were confident that they could take care of themselves because their team was either very strong or had a lot of members.

One of those people was also Lucian.

Instructor Bruce noticed that and asked him, "Lucian, are you sure you don't want to join any team? Since you are very talented, it would be a shame if you died so it's better if you join another team."

"Instructor it's okay. I know what i'm doing so I won't die." Lucian rejected the idea.

"Okay then." Instructor Bruce shook his head helplessly and turned to a team. "I will protect you guys."

Then each of the Instructors chose a team that he would protect. There were some teams who wanted to be protected but sadly they didn't get picked by the Instructors. They could only protect themselves.

Before they left Instructor Fox reminded everyone of the most important thing. "You guys should remember to not challenge the Goblin King. If you do, we will all be dead. It's because we came in together so we basically count as one party."

"Also don't forget. In two days, you need to go back to real world. If you don't come, you will be considered dead."

After the warning all of the teams left their own ways.

Lucian was the only one left at that place. He looked around and picked a branch. "The way the branch falls is where I will go."

The branch fell down and was pointing right. "Well I guess this is the way." He headed into that direction.

While walking he was fully concentrated. This one year allowed him to train his mind a lot and he is able to concentrate for a long period of time.

He had also his compound bow in hand and an arrow prepared in hand. He knew that last time he was inside, he was lucky because of how much bonuses the equipment had given him.

Crack!

A sound of a twig being broken was heard. That wasn't Lucian. The sound came from a distance.

Hearing it, Lucian immediately prepared himself and aimed with his bow while looking at the direction that the sound was heard.

Lucian quickly decided to climb one of the trees before that thing comes near him.

The trees were all very big so it was quite hard to climb on them, but once Lucian could, he would be able to easily kill any goblin.

When he was practicing climbing, this was one of the most used solutions from killing goblins. It was also the most effective if one was an archer.

Ah he climbed he grabbed the first big branch he could and sat on it. He looked down and saw that he was actually 15 meters above the ground. That meant that the trees had branches very high.

He took the bow in his hands and put an arrow on it very silently.

Just as he finished it, he saw a figure walking near the place he was before. Without even looking closely he could see, that it was a goblin.

That goblin was equipped with a sword and nothing else.

'It seems like this one is just one of the weak goblins that are here.' He was going through all the knowledge he got after studying in the academy for a year.

Goblins supposedly had ranks. The less equipment a goblin had the lower the rank he was. That meant that the Goblin King had the most equipment if it went by that standard.

Now the goblin was standing at the same place that Lucian was standing when he heard the sound.

Lucian calmly raised the bow and aimed at the head of the goblin. Then he pulled the string and took a deep breath.

Woosh!

Lucian released the string and the arrow shot out. Without having any time to react the goblin died with an arrow in his head.

Then as any other monster, it disappeared. Luckily this time, a card dropped to the ground.

"Oh. The first try."

Lucian never thought that getting items like this would be boring. Seeing a card drop was something that anyone is looking forward too.

He climbed down the tree and picked up the card.

[Hidden Class Card

By using this card, the user can gain another Class that cannot be gained when he is born and can only be obtained by having a monster drop it.]

[Do you want to use this card?]

[Yes/No]

Lucian got a choice.

"What is this? I have never heard about a hidden Class even existing. Is this like some sort of top secret information or is it that just nobody else had gotten one?" he wondered.

But he didn't hesitate on choosing to or not to use the card. He clicked Yes and the card disappeared. With the card disappearing a notification appeared.

[Congratulations for obtaining Shadow Hunter hidden Class. From now on you will have both Rouge and Shadow Hunter Class but only the Rouge Class will be visible to others.]

Then another notification appeared.

[Global Announcement]

[The first hidden Class has been obtained. From now on weapon limitations are activated. People can now only use weapons that are allowed with their Class.]

After this announcement disappeared, one tenth of the human battlers fell into despair. They knew that the weapon they were training with wasn't allowed to be used by their Class.

Of course people predicted that something like this would happen soon and were training those weapons that suits their class.

Lucian also started having worries about his bow. He immediately looked at what weapons could be used by his Classes.

[Rouge Class weapons: daggers, fist weapons, one handed swords]

[Shadow Hunter Class weapons: bows, crossbows]

Seeing that he could still use a bow, Lucian heaved a sigh of relief.

[As a reward for being the first person with a hidden class, you will be rewarded with additional 10 Inventory slots.]

This notification now surprised him. He got 10 Inventory slots? This is amazing!

Let's count this. People have 20 Inventory spaces. Lucian had 40 Inventory spaces because of the things he picked up when he was little. Now he got an additional 10 Inventory spaces.

This means Lucian now has 50 Inventory spaces.

Even Lucian himself was amazed how he just luckily got a hidden class and now got another reward.

Although he was happy with the reward, he knew that what he needed to do now is to hunt more goblins and try to get as many items as possible.

He walked around the forest a while and saw a figure a far distance away.

'Huh how can I even see that far?" He could suddenly see very far but he had no idea why. He checked his status and there was something new there.

It was a skill that probably appeared with the hidden Class.

[Hawk Eye. Passive skill. Requirement: None. Enhances vision and gives night vision. Skill level 1 (1/10000)]

"Now this is amazing." Lucian was really surprised by the effect of this skill. With this skill he could easily hunt goblins even if it was night and could see them before they would see him.

But being amazed at the skill wasn't the important thing in this situation. A goblin was coming near.

Lucian immediately cleared his head and climbed up a tree. Just like last time, he waited for the goblin to get near him. The goblin was coming towards him.

The situation was just like before. However there was actually one thing that was different. That was Lucian having the Hawk Eye skill. With this he could now shoot targets that were further away than before and could still hit as accurate as before.

He put the arrow from the quiver on his bow, pulled the string and released.

This action was really natural already because Lucian shot with his bow every single day.

Wooosh!

The arrow flew and pierced the goblin's head. In just a moment the goblin disappeared but this time there was no item dropped.

He wasn't worried about it because he still had 98 arrows and could still get some items, unless he was unlucky.

Regardless of getting an item or not, Lucian didn't like one thing about how the whole thing worked. When he killed a goblin, the arrow disappeared together with the goblin and didn't stay.

These Wooden Arrows are different than normal wooden arrows. Normal wooden arrows can be made by anyone and don't have any bonus stats. Only the Wooden Arrows which are made by those who have a Crafter Job, have bonus stats.

Knowing that he didn't have a lot of credits, he hoped that he could get some items from the goblins and earn some credits by himself.

Just like that 2 days passed.

Lucian used all of his arrows and got 5 Goblin's Tooth and 3 Goblin's Bones drops from the goblins.

He channeled the recall and returned back.
