Disastrous New Age

"Hurry up and call him!" The man with a gun was getting visibly angrier by the second.

One of the four men which were quietly walking towards him noticed, that he wanted to turn his head in their direction.

That person then quickly pulled out a gun shaped object.

No actually it was a gun. He then aimed for the man's head and shot.

Bang!

Bullet pierced the man's head. Following that, huge amounts of blood splattered on the walls.

People could not help but scream at this point. It was still okay since the man with a gun didn't shoot. But now that someone was killed, they weren't able to hold their screams in any longer.

But they still didn't dare to move. What if they got shot too? Nobody wanted that to happen.

However to their surprise, one of the four people who were getting close to the man with a gun before said, "You can all leave. Our goal was this person."

Everyone stood up at the same time and ran outside.

Due to them still being in state of panic, they were squeezing through the exit.

Looking at those people, Lucian could not help but frown. They were in too much panic. When the four people announced that they can leave, he knew that they meant it seriously.

He then looked at Zhang Ye and Meng Hao. "Should we change places?"

Both of them nodded. They already ate their full and the only thing left was to discuss about the equipment.

He took two masks from his Inventory and threw one to each of them.

"What's this for?" Zhang Ye asked.

"Since it is like this, it's the best if we go to my place. You are well known people and I don't want my house to get raided by people after that. I especially don't want much attention."

After hearing that they were going to his home, Zhang Ye and Meng Hao could not help but feel expectant at this. What kind of life did one of one of the strongest people live?

They put the masks on and left together with Lucian.

After exiting the restaurant, Lucian turned around and looked at it. 'I didn't have the chance to pay for the food.'

Now in front of the door of his place, Lucian took of his mask and said to both of them, "You don't need to wear these masks inside."

After getting the confirmation, they took their masks off.

It was Meng Hao's first time seeing Lucian's face and he was very surprised at how young he really was.

Lucian revealed his face to Meng Hao because he was one of the trusted people of Zhang Ye and since he will be working there soon, it's not going to hurt if one more person knows it.

"Well this is my place. Make yourself comfortable." He lead them to the living room and sat down on a sofa.

Zhang Ye and Meng Hao sat down on the other sofa.

"Do you want anything to drink? Coffee, tea, juice?" Since it was the first time, he had guests here, he would try to be as hospitable as he could.

"No thanks. I ate my full before so I really can't drink anything."

He then looked at Meng Hao.

Seeing Lucian looking at him, Meng Hao shook his head. "I'm full."

Knowing that they wanted to ask about the equipment, Lucian didn't want to keep them waiting.

He took out King's Underpants. "It says that this is a part of a set. Do you need it?" Although he knew that Zhang Ye needed it, he still asked.

"Yeah. How much do you want?" Zhang Ye had a lot of credits, so it wasn't an issue.

"Since we know each other, I'll give it to you for one thousand credits and a hundred pieces of arrows."

"Deal!" Before Zhang Ye could say anything, Meng Hao closed the deal. A thousand credits was nothing for them, while a hundred arrows would only require for them to send them in a package.

"Here." He handed over King's Underpants to Zhang Ye while at the same time, Zhang Ye sent him thousand credits.

They still couldn't believe why Lucian would only sell it to them from that much.

Lucian smiled embarrassingly while saying, "I don't know much about the market prices and since this item is very, very rare right now, I thought I could earn something even though it won't be a lot."

"Then why don't you hire someone who knows this stuff?" asked Meng Hao. For times like these, a piece of boss equipment was really valuable. Does he think he can get more easily or something?

"Yeah well, since I have already beaten the boss once, I will be able to do it again."

Zhang Ye and Meng Hao were flabbergasted. They didn't know how to react at this point. Was he stupid or just acting dumb?

In reality Lucian had never checked any of the market prices so he really had no idea what good and bad prices are.

In this transaction, his only goal was to get some credits and arrows. Since it was time for him to level up his Shadow Hunter Class, he needed as much arrows as he could get.

And so the easiest was to get arrows was to trade those King's Underpants since he knew that Zhang Ye needed them.

Meanwhile the other party could easily produce as many arrows as they wanted.

"Tell me what you really want. If you want any items I can give you, then it is not a problem at all. I can also keep providing you items you need in exchange for some equipment." Zhang Ye assured.

At the side, Meng Hao's eyes widened. "Guildmaster! You can't do that! What about our income."

As Meng Hao was his secretary, he knew all about the income of the guild. But his boss just now said, that he could provide any items the other party wanted. What if Lucian actually requested something expensive? That would be a big blow to the guild.

While it's true that they would get good equipment it still doesn't change the fact, that they didn't know how many times in a week he would go inside the portal.

"Don't worry. I know what I'm talking about." Then he looked at Lucian and said, "But in exchange I want you two things from you."

Lucian's curiosity was piqued at this point. "Oh which things?"

Zhang Ye lifted one finger. "First I want you to assure me, that you will beat the boss at least once a week for a total of four times a month at least. With that you should get an average of one equipment per month from that boss."

"Oh!" Lucian listened carefully. "Then what is the second thing?"

Lifting his second finger, Zhang Ye smiled. "I want to head with you to the portal for a hunt. I want you to kill the boss before my eyes."

"Deal!"Lucian had no problem with that. He was worried that Zhang Ye wanted something that would make him unable to stay peacefully here but it seems that he was only asking for that. "But I also have to say something."

"What is it?"

"I have to go back to the academy in two days, so since I have to be there two weeks every month, I'll go and kill the boss at least two times every week for two weeks. Then I'll head back to academy." Lucian still had to go to academy. His parents wanted him to graduate, so he decided that he will fulfill their wish.

"That's not a problem." Zhang Ye nodded. He knew that Lucian would request that so that's why he asked for him to head at least one time every week.

"Well..." Lucian stood up. "Shall we go?"

"Wait? Now?!" Both Zhang Ye and Meng Hao were flabbergasted. How come he already wants to go? Doesn't he need to prepare?

"Let me just call someone first." He picked up his phone and called Sophia. "Are you free right now?"

"Yeah." Sophia was wondering why would Lucian call her right now. She thought that they wouldn't be doing anything today.

'Wait? Will he ask me for a date?' She immediately dismissed that thought. She knew that Lucian wouldn't ask for a date, since he never tried to make a move on her. He never even tried to steal a glance at her or anything.

On the inside she was a little bit disappointed but didn't show it. 'I know I'm older than him, but he could at least show some interest in me even if it's just a little bit.'

"There has been a change in plans. We are going inside the portal today. Come to the portal in an hour. I'll be waiting there with two other people, who will be going inside with us." After he stopped talking, he hung up.

"At least wait for me to reply!" Sophia was pissed right now. Although Lucian was a kind person, he still had some things that a person would hate. And hanging up after saying what he needed was one of those things.

She sighed. Knowing that she had no choice, she got ready as fast as she could and headed off to the portal.

"But who are the two people accompanying us?"
