Divine Emperor of Death

2765 Unknown Gathering

"…!"

The guard reacted with heaviness clogging his heart, raising his spear towards the anomaly in front of him. Immortal King's undulations began to flare, but just as his aura flourished out of his body, he suddenly saw Mo Tian flick his hand and tug something at him.

This ridiculous motion left him dumbfounded, making him unable to understand what had happened.

Narrowing his brows, he cautiously looked at Davis, who had his hand stretched towards him.

"Esteemed cultivator, is there something you need?"

"What are you doing daydreaming?" Davis's voice became annoyed, "Keep watch properly, or I'll tell Elder Itaer of your slacking habit. Then don't blame me for losing your status, as today is an important day."

"Ah, yes!"

The guard stiffened in attention, not daring to look at Davis as he raised his head high and appeared like an honorable soldier.

"Good." Davis nodded, "In any case, do you have any idea how long this gathering will last?"

"Two more days!"

"I see."

Davis turned around, putting his gray hat back on his head, "Keep watch properly. Perhaps, I may whisper good things about a guard who was courteous to me outside."

"I'm grateful."

The guard kept his head straight, looking at Davis leave.

However, he couldn't help but furrow his brows, wondering if he was truly daydreaming at this time, especially when many powers were gathered. He felt some embarrassment, but suddenly, he frowned again.

'Wait… what was that person's name again…?'

His eyes flickered in doubt, seemingly having no idea. He couldn't remember anything about the other person either, making him feel as though there was some kind of missing part in his mind, yet he couldn't put his finger on what exactly this feeling was.

'Even if I want to know that person's name, he has already left. Forget it… He seems to know Elder Itaer and wears a similar white robe, so he should most likely be from the Lumin Family…'

The guard shrugged, turning around and keeping watch.

"Hey, is everything fine?"

A soul transmission fell into his mind from a distance, causing him to look at another guard who was a few kilometers away.

"Yeah. No problem."

The other party received confirmation, and the of them didn't bother about the altercation that almost happened, one remembering it while the other didn't!

Davis had a vague smile on his lips, seemingly enjoying infiltrating the Zyrus Family.

He couldn't believe he had just manipulated- no, just erased some memories from the guard's soul just by snapping the karmic thread that formed between them.

With his identity as Mo Tian established in the guard's mind, Davis was sure that the guard even forgot Mo Tian altogether upon him snapping his karmic thread, forgetting right from the information that he could be an Anarchic Divergent to the information that he had ever existed in the first place.

From recognizing him as Mo Tian to forgetting him, the process was so fast Davis was intrigued by this power, causing him to look at his hands with a faint excitement gleaming in his eyes.

"Fallen Heaven, did you see that? I successfully copied one of your moves..."

"Not quite. That guard still looked confused because he noticed the emptiness created by shattering the bond you share with him. If you used mine, then I assure you that would've been clean."

"Bond? That's not… quite the right word. Still, I did manage to learn one of your moves."

Davis's delightful and gloating voice echoed in his soul sea as though he was bragging to Fallen Heaven. Nonetheless, it said no more, leaving Davis to his devices as he walked through the empty grounds.

Here, almost everything was luxurious that it couldn't be compared to the likes of any other cities he had seen.

As for the Aurora Cloud Gate, it lacked the artistic sense of this place as it was mostly one with nature, although each portion of the island was customizable according to the taste of the core or true disciple occupying it.

Nevertheless, Davis kept on moving and started seeing people from other powers, forming groups, and chattering with each other. It was as though he saw an open-ceiling banquet but still figured out that it was just the unimportant people who were here and the important ones were at a giant palace that extended four thousand hundred meters tall and circularly proportional.

'So a few other powers are gathered here? For what…?'

Davis didn't know why, but he felt that it was better for him as there was a chance that the other powers would be willing to protect him, Mo Tian, even if others, like the Zyrus Family, wanted to kill him for making things difficult for Klein Zyrus in the Void Dust Secret Realm.

Nonetheless, he could see the powers that were here were the powers he encountered in the Void Dust Secret Realm, and additionally, there were also some powers that he didn't recognize.

To him, it was unknown what kind of scale this even was, but either way, he wasn't ready to leave since he was here.

He unceremoniously entered the palace with the gray hat still hiding his face, not stopped by anyone, including the guards who were at the front of the gates to the palace. He strutted forward with big and arrogant steps, humoring some attention to himself, but that was all.

Most didn't even take a second glance at him, leaving Davis to approach the wall and be seated in a far corner where he could have eyes on many things and occurrences.

His eyes did catch a few swaying peaks in the crowd adorned by beautiful faces above the neck level, but as he sat and waited with no companion by his side, he finally caught sight of two of his targets. However, Young Master Liam Zyrus was not one of them, leaving him uninterested as he felt like he could assassinate these people at any time he wanted since they were less protected.

However, his eyes couldn't help but flicker as he saw a brown-robed old man whose undulations were slightly familiar that Davis didn't almost recognize him if it weren't for his similarity to the three triplets he assassinated back when he hunted the three Young Masters of the Ember Skyworld Mercenaries who also happened to be the three notorious leaders of the Dark Sky Triad.

'That guy… so he has joined the Zyrus Family...'

Looking at him no longer appearing to have a hunched back but a fit body despite looking quite old, Davis believed that this man sought the Zyrus Family's graces. It was even more evident as he was walking behind a few Zyrus Family immortals with a servile attitude despite being an Immortal King.

But at the same time, he saw a person whom he didn't expect to see arrive with a bunch of beauties by his side.

"Young Master Haijin, welcome back."

Haijin Minn entered the palace with twelve beauties behind him as a group of silver-haired individuals who appeared to be from the Minn Family welcomed him, his aura steadily flaring at Level Nine Immortal Stage that left Davis speechless, causing his mouth to part with a bit of amazement.
