The guests witnessed the assassins turn into dark goo with just a wave of a Grand Elder's hand. That single move couldn't help but cause countless people to shudder, terrified that they might be accidentally killed without even being able to speak a word.

*Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~*

However, some assassins also managed to escape, either by using a protective talisman as they ran away or using a spatial talisman to blink thousands of kilometers away. The latter was not something that opened a spatial vortex but directly sent the user into the distance in the direction they preferred, except if there was something opaque blocking their way, they could be squashed to their deaths unless their physical prowess was higher than the opaque object itself.

The Zyrus Family guards gave chase, but that was it, as it was unknown what happened afterward.

*Rumble!~*

The people couldn't help but abruptly turn to look at the dark clouds starting to recede.

Before they knew it, the Heavenly Wind Tribulation came to an end. The projections displaying the sea of darkness within the inner hall also was shut down, causing numerous people to murmur, wondering if the spirit was dead or alive as they didn't see properly.

*Whoosh!~*

Yilla Zyrus zoomed toward the palace, followed by the Zyrus Family Elders.

"Everyone, please stay here while we neutralize a possible threat but rest assured that this event will continue."

The Zyrus Family Patriarch also turned to leave, leaving behind the guests when his expression changed.

"Don't mess with us!"

"Who's going to take responsibility for this attack!? Even the Golden Crow Clan's Patriarch was almost inflicted with poison, only for one of his wives to throw herself at that poison to protect her husband!"

"That's right! If it weren't for Yilla Zyrus taking out that spirit and summoning an Immortal King Tribulation, we would still all be safe within the palace's confines!"

Patriarch Yinakin Zyrus's expression churned as he heard these complaints and grievances being thrown at him, making him think that this was not good. However, before he could even reply, more grievances were thrown at him, disallowing him to speak.

He had to admit the assassins did a number on this one, killing three or four high-status targets while also killing or poisoning innocent bystanders in the way.

"What do you propose we do?"

Instantly, the boisterous and aggrieved crowd abruptly became silent as a powerful voice descended from above, an old black-robed figure becoming apparent.

No one dared to speak as they looked at the Zyrus Family's Grand Elder who saved them.

Davis also recognized this Grand Elder. He was none other than the Grand Elder who protected and nurtured Klein Zyrus and was also Yilla Zyrus's father.

"Quick, we need female physicians to check on her. The nature of the poison is unknown."

While everyone was silent, one of the Golden Crow Clan's Elders opened her mouth and bellowed at the Grand Elder, causing the latter to merely nod.

"Grand Elder, please leave." Patriarch Yinakin Zyrus cupped hands towards that Grand Elder, "Although it is with your grace that most of us survived this assassin's onslaught, most of us don't know how to appreciate it and instead even blame a young woman who wouldn't know better."

"..."

That Grand Elder merely stared at him while the expressions of the others also twitched. Was the Zyrus Family Patriarch calling them ungrateful bastards?

Shortly, Grand Elder left the scene, causing Patriarch Yinakin Zyrus to turn to look at the crowd.

"Everyone, I promise to compensate the victims as much as we can, but this isn't the time to fight among us. Our hidden enemies precisely want this so they can effortlessly pick us apart one by one. Quick, call all of our physicians to look into the survivors' health."

"Yes!"

The few remaining people of the Zyrus Family quickly scrambled to find their physicians.

There were also other physicians present among the guests, but they were busy investigating the health of their own people, checking if anyone was laced with slow-acting poison.

While everyone was moving about and healing their wounded people, Davis was astonished that not a single person from the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan was harmed. It was almost like they were the ones who hired this assassin attack to take place if he didn't know any better.

Nonetheless, as he turned to look around, his pupils abruptly dilated as his eyes caught sight of a figure who was lying down, colored with green poison rupturing their body as it constantly created wounds that blood kept leaking out of, causing him to subconsciously take a step forward to that person.

"Mo Tian, where are you going? Stay beside me. We can't afford to have you poisoned like the others."

The Starlight Jade Wolf King reminded, causing Davis to come to a stop. His gaze flickered with some emotions before he ultimately suppressed them and turned to look around. However, that feeling encroached on him again, causing him to feel furious at the assassins.

'Fuck... Nightveil has been poisoned! If I don't go treat her, she might die...!'

At this point, Davis believed that he could only wait for their physicians to treat her but turning to glance at them, he saw that they had only a few, not to mention that they seemed to prioritize spirits with status! This meant that Nightveil would be one of the last spirits to get treatment if there was any, and by that time, she could have died for all he could guess.

He almost exploded with irritation mixed with a bit of rage but turned his head back and lowered his head, unable to decide between watching her suffer and possibly die or going ahead and healing her, which would not expose him but still bring more problems into his disguised persona through uncurbed interest which might ultimately lead him to be exposed.

After all, it would beg the question of why he would try to heal only Nightveil when many were affected here, so people might try to look into her past and find that she came into contact with the Emperor of Death in the Aurora Cloud Gate!

The Starlight Jade Wolf King's brows squinted as he noticed Mo Tian shake, causing him to wonder what was going on in his head. Just as he was about to ask, he saw Mo Tian turn to look around as though searching for something before his eyes shone as though he had found a ray of light in a path of darkness.

"Is there something wrong?" He asked, causing Mo Tian to smile back at him.

"Patriarch, I think I know how to cure this poison."

"What...?"

The Starlight Jade Wolf King's eyes fluttered in confusion as he heard Mo Tian's words, turning to look around in amusement as he saw even Peak Immortal King Physicians frowning as though they were unable to find the right antidote and all they could do was stop the advance of this poison by using their energy and employing other elders to use their energy yet Mo Tian was claiming that he knew how to cure this poison...?
