Do You Know How to Capture a Villain? Chapter 24.3

Picking Her Up Once Again (3)

"Someone wanted to kill you, and you escaped?" Shen Rongyu asked. He raised his eyes and glanced sharply in the direction of the woods. Amidst the grasses and trees' cover, there seemed to be shadow.

"En," Ji Qingzhou whispered.

"You're fleeing for your life, yet you brought your donkey?" Shen Rongyu withdrew his gaze from the direction of the woods, and glanced at Maomao.

This donkey looked stupid and old. Its gray fur was ugly too, but Ji Qingzhou had hugged it that night and had gone to look for medicine overnight.

"En," Ji Qingzhou answered again.

Shen Rongyu took two steps back. Part of his attention was left in the woods as he began to tease Ji Qingzhou again.

"My yard is small. I'm afraid that between you and the donkey, only one can hide inside," Shen Rongyu informed her relaxedly.

He lowered his head and rolled up his wide sleeve robe a little, revealing his slender forearms.

Ji Qingzhou thought for a moment and pushed Maomao forward, as if entrusting her child to the kindergarten teacher.

"Come on, go ahead." Ji Qingzhou pushed Maomao's buttocks hard, but the donkey was stubborn and didn't budge an inch.

Shen Rongyu tilted his head to observe her. Against the moonlight, his expression was vague, and his eyes were dark.

"Aren't you coming in?" he asked again.

Ji Qingzhou had her own considerations. Now that Shen Rongyu appeared, he could deter the intruder temporarily, but the man had not left.

Killing her was enough... Shen Rongyu was only a Golden Core cultivator, he couldn't afford to protect her.

So Ji Qingzhou pulled away a couple steps backward and waved her hand towards Shen Rongyu.

She still didn't dare to look him in the eye. Her thin eyebrows drooped, but the slightest trace of fear was visible on her face. Her feet on the ground were already stained with mud, and there were even signs of cuts by blades of grass.

Ji Qingzhou felt a little cold as all the sweat from running was dried by the wind. Her nose felt quite itchy, and she was close to sneezing, but for some reason, she couldn't.

Shen Rongyu also did not call her again. He was waiting for her to approach him by herself.

Ji Qingzhou held the rope tied to Maomao and handed it to Shen Rongyu. She whispered, "Xiao Yu-shixiong, it might have been my illusion. Please help me watch Maomao for now. I'll just go back by myself."

Shen Rongyu didn't take the rope. He felt that he had to tie the rope to Ji Qingzhou.

No wonder she had a donkey for a pet – this girl was more stubborn than a donkey.

"You can come in with it." Shen Rongyu finally gave in.

Ji Qingzhou shook her head. The shrill alarms of the system continued to ring in her, but her feet were pinned in place.

She just hoped that Shen Rongyu would close the door quickly, as if she hadn't been there.

The two fell into silence, as if caught in a weird stalemate.

This lasted until a man who was waiting in the woods couldn't hold back anymore. Killing Ji Qingzhou was as simple as drinking water. She had no family and no power backing her. Killing her was easy to explain.

But she had gone to Shen Rongyu. Shen Rongyu had a special status and an esteemed position in the Xuanyun Sect — although he thought differently.

The only alternative was to kill everyone around, including Shen Rongyu. A manic fervor bubbled deep in the man's eyes.

And so, he set out.

"Whoosh—" The whizzing flight of three sharp weapons broke through the air, crossing the distance of fifty feet towards the two.

Although this unknown concealed weapon was ordinary, it was infused with ten percent of the magic power of a Xuanyun Sect elder. Even the tiniest graze of the wind could render one seriously injured.

Shen Rongyu saw the concealed weapon flying, and his pupils instantly constricted. He took a step forward and directly took Ji Qingzhou, who was stunned in place, into his arms.

His movements were swift, and the tip of Ji Qingzhou's nose collided with his exposed chest. He hugged her and spun around, causing her skirt to swing up and blossom into a flower in the air.

Maomao broke free of the rope and rushed to Shen Rongyu's yard to hide. He was also rather terrified.

Kaahhhh— The three concealed weapons sank like nails into Shen Rongyu's courtyard gate, and then exploded with an invisible force, smashing the gate into pieces. Sawdust flew everywhere.

Shen Rongyu carried Ji Qingzhuo with one hand, and then pulled out the Burial Snow Sword hanging from his waist. The three black nails on the door failed to hit, so they flew again, changed directions, and shot at Ji Qingzhou.

With the Burial Snow Sword lying in front of Shen Rongyu, the mirror-like body of the sword reflected his indifferent eyes. However, the moment the sword was unsheathed, a twinkle of excitement gleamed in his eyes. Then of course, it was necessary to drink blood and return the favor to the three black 'Soul Seeking Nails'.

The Soul Seeking Nails hit the Burial Snow Sword, but couldn't do any damage to it. They only produced three ding sounds. The collision was so powerful that Shen Rongyu was pushed three steps back.

Ji Qingzhuo was held in his arms, and all she could hear was the sharp clash of weapons. Her nervous humid breath fell on his chest, but she never dared to raise her head.

However, when Shen Rongyu stepped back, she clenched his half-open robe tightly. Shen Rongyu... seemed to be unable to support himself.

At this juncture, he really only had a Golden Core cultivation base, and the villain who would destroy the world in the future, currently couldn't control the sky with one hand.

Moreover, she was the one who brought him... this disaster.
