To Bite Her (3)

Ji Qingzhou went to the Xuanyun Sect’s main hall with Shen Rongyu. She stood on his Burial Snow Sword and didn’t take the initiative to talk to him. She just stared at the scenery in the distance, and pondered whether her cultivation base could score higher if she were to take a deep breath and channel enough strength when taking her Cultivation class test.

Shen Rongyu was still fumbling for a topic. He looked at the green hills passing by under their feet, and asked her, “Zhouzhou, aren’t you curious about my grades back then?”

Ji Qingzhou replied honestly, “Xiao Yu-shixiong, I’m not curious.”

…I knew it.

Today, Ji Qingzhou successfully terminated the chat. She continued to puff up her cheeks and inhale, practicing her magic power discharge.

“The clockwork has already been wound up.” Shen Rongyu reminded her, “It can’t get any tighter. You have plenty of magic power now.”

Ji Qingzhou’s bulging cheeks shrunk immediately. She patted her face and didn’t speak. Obviously because of the two words “wound up”, she was shy.

“Thank you, Xiao Yu-shixiong.” Ji Qingzhou was very grateful to Shen Rongyu for helping her check her stored magic power before leaving White Water Island.

Soon, they arrived at the main hall of Xuanyun Sect. At the end of the white jade stairs, surrounded by clouds, the hall stood majestically, and with the sun shining behind it. It was as if a layer of light was plated on the hall, rippling with seven colors, like a palace in the sky.

Upon reaching the vicinity of the Xuanyuan Hall, flight was no longer permitted. You had to walk up the endless jade stairs.

Outside the hall, there were already disciples in twos and threes heading to the Xuanyun Hall. Not only were there disciples who were going to take part in the annual test, but there were also other shixiongs and shijies, who came just to join in the fun.

Ji Qingzhou was totally inconspicuous, but Shen Rongyu could easily attract everyone’s attention. The moment other disciples focused their attention on him, she regretted standing by his side.

“Shen-shixiong,” those disciples greeted him one after another and said hello.

“Shen-shixiong, I have a formation that I didn’t quite understand a few days ago. Can I ask you about it?”

“Some of the Magic Class elder’s lectures were vague. Can Shen-shixiong help clear up my confusion?”

Disciples seized the opportunity to exchange pleasantries with Shen Rongyu, wanting to ask him some questions on cultivation. After all, he was too outstanding. His test results previously in the sect created an unbreakable miracle in Xuanyun Sect.

The disciples crowded together. Ji Qingzhou was very sensible and backed away. Her pace slowed down a bit, and she fell behind Shen Rongyu.

She raised her feet, slowly put her toes on the white jade steps, and then landed lightly… She tried her best to slow down her footsteps as quietly as possible.

However, Shen Rongyu, who was walking in front of her, seemed to have eyes behind his back. He also slowed down while answering the questions of those fellow disciples casually.

Shen Rongyu didn’t tell Ji Qingzhou to leave, he just kept up with her pace, so she couldn’t get rid of him.

Ji Qingzhou’s ears were filled with the buzzing voices of the disciples, and some of them even mentioned her.

“Shen-shixiong, is the person beside you the mortal who passed the Immortal Ascension Conference?”

“She has been on White Water Island, and we haven’t even seen much of her!”

“Why does this shimei keep her head down? When you flew with her in the sky just now, Shen-shixiong, she looked pretty good.”

As soon as the person finished speaking, the standard smile on Shen Rongyu’s face froze, and the corners of his raised lips slowly retracted.

“All right, head to the Xuanyun Hall first, everyone,” he said in a deep voice, urging them to leave, and his tall figure blocked Ji Qingzhou’s front, and hid her behind him.

Ji Qingzhou breathed a sigh of relief. The bunch finally left, so her footsteps became brisk.

She didn’t understand why Shen Rongyu had not left yet, but since he wanted to accompany her by her side, she would stay with him so that the system could absorb more energy.

Ji Qingzhou was indeed gradually getting used to getting along with Shen Rongyu. How could she describe this feeling?… She was truly afraid of others, but Shen Rongyu didn’t seem like a stranger to her, or perhaps he didn’t count as a person in her eyes.

After walking up the white jade stairs, she was panting and a little tired. Her frailty was not a lie. Her physical fitness was indeed weaker than that of a normal person, and even her limbs were smaller.

There were originally throngs of people in Xuanyun Hall, but Shen Rongyu stood in front of Ji Qingzhou, just to help her stop those inquisitive eyes and draw them away.

Ji Qingzhou again breathed a sigh of relief when those compelling eyes did not fall on her.

The elder who would preside over the Cultivation base test was an acquaintance. When she saw the woman, the big stone hanging in her heart fell.

Elder Mu Ying stood in the center of the hall with a smile on her face. She looked nice, and her smile was gentle and sweet, which prevented the disciples who walked up to take the cultivation test from feeling nervous.

The top two columns in the Xuanyun Hall were occupied by the elders of the sect, followed by their own direct disciples, while the rest of the ordinary disciples and disciples who came to watch were gathered at the bottom.

Behind Elder Mu Ying, there was a suspended curtain of light formed by magic, flashing bright blue light.

The center of the light curtain recorded the results of all the disciples at the Immortal Ascension Conference, including their usual performance scores in the classroom. However, the results and rankings had not yet been announced. The only person whose scores were revealed was Shen Rongyu.

Shen Rongyu turned around and glanced at Ji Qingzhou.

Having arrived at the hall, Ji Qingzhou was suddenly curious about Shen Rongyu’s score, so she stood on tiptoe and looked over his shoulder to see his score.

Shen Rongyu, who turned around, just happened to see her poking her head to see his grades.

— And yet she said had not long ago, “Xiao Yu-shixiong, I’m not curious.”
