For You (2)

“Indeed,” Mu Ying echoed with a smile. “This came as a surprise, but she truly did a good job.”

Ji Qingzhou rarely received positive comments from others. She breathed a long sigh of relief and put her mind at ease.

However, only she herself knew that her cultivation did not rely on her own strength. It was Shen Rongyu who helped her inject spirit qi into her body bit by bit.

She blinked, and the hand on her side moved behind her, but she didn’t find him.

She didn’t know when Shen Rongyu had left and returned to his original spot.

The first item of Xuan Yunzong’s annual test had officially ended. Although Ji Qingzhou got the lowest score, for her, it was already a breakthrough.

Before she returned to White Water Island, she went to Elder Qiao Shu’s Mingxin Lake to dine, and the news in the main hall spread faster than Shen Rongyu flight with her.

Elder Qiao Shu put a stack of stir-fried vegetables in front of her, and asked with a smile, “Qingzhou has scored 68 points, and you’ve almost reached the 6th stage of Qi Refining.”

Shen Rongyu came with Ji Qingzhou. He sat in the bamboo corridor outside and looked at her from a distance.

Ji Qingzhou lowered her head and stuffed rice in her mouth. She nodded, and her voice rang indistinctly: “Yes, thanks to Xiao Yu-shixiong.”

“Qingzhou, it’s a miracle that you can cultivate.” Qiao Shu couldn’t help but sigh. He turned his head to look at Shen Rongyu and said with a tone tinged with teasing, “Rongyu, you must have put a lot of thought into it.”

Ji Qingzhou chewed green vegetables for a while. He spent a lot of thought? H-He obviously…

Her cheeks turned scarlet, and she managed to swallow the food in her mouth.

Ji Qingzhou didn’t dare to look at Shen Rongyu, but he was staring at her. He answered Elder Qiao Shu’s question without even blushing, and said warmly, “That’s right.”

After he finished speaking, the chopsticks in Ji Qingzhou’s hand fell off, and she hurriedly picked them up.

Shen Rongyu looked at her with a hint of inquiry. He didn’t understand why she reacted like this every time he mentioned cultivation. He always thought she was shy because of the “Double Cultivation” slip of the tongue, but that had been so long ago. Did she still mind it?

However, only she knew about what had transpired in their cultivation space, so she took a deep breath and told herself to stop thinking about it.

If Shen Rongyu were to know what was happening in the cultivation space, she would find a crack to bury herself into, and never see him again. No matter how the system begged, she would never face him.

Ji Qingzhou’s face was about to be buried in her bowl, and it took a long time for her to finish her lunch.

Shen Rongyu waited patiently. He held his sword, leaned on the bamboo porch and waited for her quietly.

When Ji Qingzhou finished eating, he reached out to her: “Zhouzhou, let’s go.”

Ji Qingzhou bade Qiao Shu goodbye and set foot on his Burial Snow Sword. It was already late autumn. Ji Qingzhou’s clothes had the function of keeping her warm. Although she was not too cold, she still sneezed when the oncoming cool wind hit her.

“Cold?” Shen Rongyu turned his head and asked her.

“Yes,” Ji Qingzhou answered embarrassedly.

“68 points, that’s very high.” It was only now that Shen Rongyu praised her.

“Xiao Yu-shixiong, it’s yours…” Ji Qingzhou whispered.

“If the 60 points are mine, then the remaining eight is all yours.” Shen Rongyu certainly discovered Ji Qingzhou’s control ability when she fed the test stone magic power.

Precise and calm, without wasting a shred of magic power. Her magic manipulation technique was almost artistic.

Ji Qingzhou gave a soft “En”.

“Do you want to be in the top three?” Shen Rongyu finally asked this question. In fact, from the moment Ji Qingzhou carried Maomao back to White Water Island in the middle of the night, he knew the reason for her efforts.

What a ridiculous reason.

“Yes,” Ji Qingzhou still answered him with a single word.

“Tomorrow is the Beast Mastery class test.” Shen Rongyu knew the general test content because he had also taken the assessment back then.

“I’ll do my best.” Ji Qingzhou replied. She had been getting along well with Bing Shuang recently, but not as close as before. Bing Shuang should have understood some truths, so she just regarded her as an ordinary master.

She knew it would end up like this, but her mood still couldn’t help but drop. What was more, once the Beast Mastery Class was finished, she would have to say goodbye to Bing Shuang.

Shen Rongyu’s beautiful eyes drooped slightly. When he glanced from the corner of his eye, he realized that Ji Qingzhou was thinking about those little animals again.

He did not expose Ji Qingzhou little thoughts, but only asked, “Are we still going to cultivate today?”

Cultivate? Since the last time, Shen Rongyu had always acted that way towards Ji Qingzhou in the cultivation space. She had just finished her Cultivation class test today and wanted to rest.

So she shook her head decisively. “No.”

Shen Rongyu increasingly felt that their cultivation wasn’t strong enough. He certainly knew his own self, but Ji Qingzhou…definitely didn’t know his true nature.

Ji Qingzhou tagged along to Shen Rongyu’s courtyard to feed Youyou. She hugged the little guy in her arms and sneaked a kiss. It was so cute that she couldn’t resist it.

She carried him with her back to Shen Rongyu, not letting him see it, because  she felt that her behavior was a little silly.

Of course, as soon as she lowered her head, Shen Rongyu knew what she was going to do. He saw Ji Qingzhou’s hair slipping from behind and blocking her sides. She leaned over to Youyou’s forehead and gave a firm kiss.

Youyou also liked Ji Qingzhou’s closeness, so he leaned forward and lay on her shoulder.

Youyou was now facing him, and the little guy waved his paws at him as a sign of friendship.

However, in Shen Rongyu’s view, such an action was like a third party showing off.

He was just a bit angry. He had bought Youyou for her himself.

Ji Qingzhou was fond of these little animals very much, but for Shen Rongyu, her capture target, her fondness for him wasn’t as much as these creatures — even if he was really nice to her.

The reason was very simple; whether it was Maomao or Youyou, they only had her in their eyes. They wholeheartedly regarded her as their only master, and whenever Ji Qingzhou looked at these lovely little ones, all she could see was her reflection in their clear eyes.

Since she was showered with such love, it was only natural for her to return the favor; a very simple fact.

Ji Qingzhou caressed Youyou’s back repeatedly. After carrying him for a while, her arm felt a little sore, so she put him down.

After playing with Youyou, she carried him to his nest. Only after that did she have the time to pay attention to Shen Rongyu.

In fact, she hesitated for so long today because she had something in mind. When she was hugging Youyou, she was a little absent-minded, and it was only now that she made up her mind to act.

Shen Rongyu was leaning on the bamboo platform, with the Burial Snow Sword on his side, shining with the same snowy sword-light. He glanced at Ji Qingzhou with an ambiguous shade in his eyes.

Ji Qingzhou called him in the same soft tone as usual, “Xiao Yu-shixiong.”

Shen Rongyu replied dully, “Yes?”

Ji Qingzhou lifted the hem of her skirt and walked slowly towards him, her footsteps a little hesitant.

Shen Rongyu’s fingers slowly tapped on the hilt of his sword. He had no clue what Ji Qingzhou was up to.

After all, she said that they wouldn’t practice cultivation today, right?

Ji Qingzhou stood in front of him. She was a bit torn, because this was the first time she would do such a thing.

She thought it was useless, and maybe in Shen Rongyu’s eyes, it would be ridiculous.

But she couldn’t give him anything else. He had helped her so much, and it was only right for her to show gratitude.

Ji Qingzhou lowered her head, opened her purse, and the familiar moonlight power of the conch in the purse gushed out again.

However, the air pressure around Shen Rongyu plummeted. The yellow leaves in the yard fell from the tree tops and landed on the water, causing ripples.

Ji Qingzhou was totally oblivious that she was jumping directly on his minefield. She rummaged in her small purse and eventually pulled out a small item.

It was a small jade pendant with a familiar epiphyllum pattern engraved on it. It was quite ugly, with all its crooked seal lines .

Ji Qingzhou placed the white jade pendant in her palm and stretched out her hand in front of Shen Rongyu. “For you,” she said with some hesitation.

It was too ugly, especially when handed to a figure like Shen Rongyu, who embodied a banished immortal, the jade pendant looked even uglier.

Ji Qingzhou wanted to withdraw her hand, but she still wanted to persist a while longer.

However, it was these two short words that dispelled the gloomy atmosphere around Shen Rongyu.

His handsome eyebrows rose, and his eyes fell on the jade pendant in Ji Qingzhou’s palm. He asked, “What is this?”

Shen Rongyu asked knowingly, but Ji Qingzhou answered seriously, “I carved it myself.”

She had been etching it for a long time. It was the stone that Elder Qiao Shu had brought back for her. It cost a fortune – she spent 200 middle-grade spirit stones to buy this valuable ice jade. She didn’t know if the stone had any special effect in this cultivation world, but it was clear and transparent, a perfect material for an ornament.

Ji Qingzhou didn’t know what she could give Shen Rongyu, so she carved an Epiphyllum Jade Pendant for him. It was her first time etching such a thing, and it turned out really ugly. She made a waste out of such a quality stone.

“Right, you can wear it on your waist, or on your sword,” Ji Qingzhou informed him of its use.

Shen Rongyu stared at the jade pendant, but he did not take it.

Ji Qingzhou thought he disliked it, so she closed her palm. Her voice dropped, but she remained motionless, “Xiao Yu-shixiong… If you don’t like it, wait until the mountain free day, and I will go and buy someone else’s carving.”

She knew from the start that this move was too ridiculous. Sure enough, Shen Rongyu couldn’t accept it.

But the next moment, Shen Rongyu captured her wrist. His thumb pressed against the center of her wrist, and then slowly slid up, breaking her tightly clasped fingers.

Ji Qingzhou had been clasping the Epiphyllum Jade Pendant for quite some time, so it had the warmth from her hand. Shen Rongyu easily took it out of her palm.

“Is it better on my waist, or on my sword?” he raised his head and asked.

He looked at Ji Qingzhou’s slightly startled eyes. His eyes were deep, and Ji Qingzhou couldn’t figure out what was on his mind.
