The next morning, Ferelman handed over some medical journals to me.

“We will be greeting the Duchess and the Young Master Erhan this afternoon. So please read and understand all of the information.” (Ferelmen)

Jenny gasped at the ridiculous amount of journals that piled up from the desk.

“M-my oh lord.. this is quite a lot, Sir. You should have delivered this to Miss Lise yesterday.” (Jenny)

“No, I’m not.” (Ferelmen)

Then, I interrupted them in a leisurely manner of speaking.

“This is possible.” (Lise)

Jenny picked out some pretty clothes and braided my hair as I began to look at the medical log carefully.

“This is too much.” (Jenny)

Jenny sighed.

“I would never ask a thirteen year old assistant to memorize medical logs like this.” (Jenny)

“Of course, Jenny.” (Lise)

I answered lightly.

“We couldn’t just pass on the Dukedom personal information to an assistant.” (Jenny)

“Why would he…” (Jenny)

“I am going to stay here as an employee. At least six years? I think you have noticed that.” (Lise)

Then, I calmly began to read the next medical journal.

The Duchess was suffering from chronic headaches and intermittent stomach pains.

This is because of stress. Also, Ferelman himself gave her a very proper prescription every time she suffered from headache.

Surely he is a good doctor. He was different from the doctors I met before I returned to the past.

But why did she die suddenly in six years? The prescription itself is already appropriate.

Of course there was a bigger problem.
It was Erhan Iliad Cerseus.

It is said that he sometimes suffered from a high fever that comes with a seizure. In addition, an unidentified stomach ache, headache, and toothache.

Of course, every time, Ferelman had attempted to save Erhan and treated him well, but it was only temporary because Ferelmen did not know the cause of his sufferings.

‘Ferelmen was too occupied with his little girl searching so that’s why he can’t possibly stick to him every day. Maybe I could figure out his factor if I look closely.’

That was my first and unconditional goal.

“Then we can somehow develop a cure. Six years is enough.”

To make it possible, I had to do some research. Also study some herbs and other necessary for the research. I need Ferelman’s support too.

If I said that I knew how the future would unfold, I would be kicked out and being labelled as crazy.

‘I have to be able to use Ferelmen’s laboratory as much as I can. At least when he’s out for some errands.’

If I am recognised because of my ability he would be trusting me to take care of the medical faction in Cerseus Duchy. He would also apply for a leave and search for his daughter.

I will also have some advantages and can use his lab to develop something new. Also I can use all types of materials and apparatus for my own research.

That’s the second goal. – make the laboratory accessible.

After interpreting and understanding all of the medical logs, I was determined to unfold the mystery.

“This is my new assistant, Your Grace.” (Ferelmen)

Ferelmen introduced me with no particular and unnecessary information.

I greeted both of the high aristocrats with good manners. Luckily, I asked Jenny not to make myself a bit dolled up.

“I am Lise Estelle. I look forward to your kind cooperation, my Duchess and Young Master.” (Lise)

“This is quite unexpected.” (Isabel)

Isabel Cecilia Cerseus is the Duchess of Cerseus. She didn’t look very well and healthy.

However, she appeared to be much younger in her late 30s. She has a shimmering and platinum silver hair and a pair of midnight black eyes.

Strangely, the coolness of her eyes was quite similar to Erhan.

Ferelman did not point out much of her. He had a little expression, much like his cold-hearted personality.

“I can’t believe you introduced me to a new assistant after three days. Didn’t they usually quit before introducing themselves?” (Isabel)

The Duchess looked at me sharply before continuing.

“And you look pretty young.” (Isabel)

“She’s thirteen.” (Ferelmen)

Ferelman answered after sipping his tea.

“She is of the age in which intelligence is not necessarily proportional. I almost finished my current medical knowledge when I was thirteen.” (Ferelmen)

I nodded my head.

He looked like he was going to cut me himself but it didn’t bother me much.

“So do I.” (Lise)

Erhan, who was sitting next to the Duchess, smiled slightly at me.

I always tell the truth, but neither Jenny nor Erhan could figure out why they were giggling.

“…..”

The Duchess’s gaze at me showed signs of being unreliable and unapproved.

Of course, it wasn’t something that I didn’t understand. Even Ferelman, Erhan and Jenny looked like that when they first saw me.

“Well.” (Isabel)

The Duchess lowered her eyes.

“So you’re the assistant. Your talent of being a doctor… I was wondering if you are doing well?” (Isabel)

“I am good at anything, Your Grace.” (Lise)

“Oh.” (Isabel)

“I don’t have much patience with stupidity.” (Ferelmen)

I understood the words and nodded quietly.

Ferelman changed the subject without much expression.

“Is there anything you’ve been meaning to ask?” (Ferelmen)

“It’s not that, I just have a few headaches every day, and I get a stomach ache when I drink milk.” (Isabel)

“Lise.”

Ferelmen called my name.

“Please prescribe the medicine.” (Ferelmen)

I answered clearly.

“As you usually prescribe, you can add the oasis grasses [오아시스 풀과] and the daeron root [대론 뿌] to use them as medicine. Why don’t you avoid dairy products as much as you can? And if you can’t, would you mind using crone’s petal [크론의 꽃잎을]?” (Lise)

“But if the headache doesn’t stop?” (Isabel)

“Please use esta cerelony therapy.” (Lise)

Ferelman nodded and looked at Erhan.

“Is everything okay with you, young master?” (Ferelmen)

“Yes.” (Erhan)

“Try to control your diet and exercise.
Are you doing well with that?” (Ferelmen)

“Yes.” (Erhan)

I shook my head inwardly.

I knew that he never made any efforts. It seemed that he had a habit of lying to Ferelman.

“Lise, what are you going to do if the young master suddenly falls down?” (Ferelmen)

“It depends on the symptoms, but I will follow the basic policy in the Zebelion Manual and contact you immediately since the cause is unknown.” (Lise)

“Yes, well done.” (Ferelmen)

After studying about the medical log this morning, I felt that both Ferelman and I have the same prescription for the patients.

Perhaps that is because we have the same opinion about the disease.

Ferelmen unconsciously raised his mouth, but I could tell after observing him for the last three days.

It was clear that he liked my answer quite a lot.

“From now on, we’re going to have Lise as the doctor for a while. If you feel uncomfortable Your Grace, please contact Lise” (Ferelmen)

“…What?” (Isabel)

The Duchess frowned.

“A 13-year-old assistant.. She only has 3 days experience. Are you saying that she will be the one who treated the Duchess?” (Isabel)

A sharpness was expressed in her tone. Her voice was full of anxiety and coldness rushed down my spine.

“I will watch her until I am confident enough to have her handled everything.. Until I completely trust her.” (Ferelmen)

Ferelman said firmly.

“I am thinking of visiting the Irvia region.” (Ferelmen)

Irvia was a southern region where people had to cross the sea quite far by ship.

Seeing that the Duchess could not say anything, it seemed that he would be going to find his daughter.

They said both the Duchess and Ferelmen have a contract which includes searching for his daughter.

“I will be treating you for now, Your Grace. But if you don’t trust her, please let me know. I will try to stay longer and delay my departure.” (Ferelmen)

“…….”

There was a moment of silence.

The Duchess was forced to nod.

“I understand the situation because I was once in that situation, Sir Ferelmen.” (Isabel)

But it was a voice with a cold wind as if she could never trust me. She won’t glance at me either since I was having goosebumps about the current atmosphere.

“It’s quite a shame, your excellency. To be honest, it is understandable. No matter what, I will try to pour all of my effort as a doctor to the Duchy.” (Lise)

“I fully understand your concerns, but just trust me for a while.” (Lise)

No matter how cold the Duchess was, I was not particularly worried.

This is because I had no reason to lose faith in the Duchess by my current ability. I was more competent that she thought I was.

“I am quite talented in medicine.” (Lise)

“…Ha.” (Isabel)

The Duchess sighed as if she would stop talking and surrender completely.

I only say the right thing, but trust was something I had to build with my own skills anyway.

Instead of persuading her any longer, I made another plan on my mind.

‘Ferelman is planning to go to Irvia soon, to find his daughter.’

Irvia is quite far away, and it will take a long time to run a paternity test there.

Plus I can study to my heart’s content if I get permission to assess the laboratory.
