Don't Fear Of Darkness

Chapter 25 - The most difficult test

District Ilford, one of the poorest, if not the poorest place in London. Destroyed, dingy buildings, almost none of which had been renovated in this century, were nothing strange and it reminded residents, how hopeless their lives were. Poverty squealed here on every corner, pushing many people into smaller or larger crimes, making it one of the worst, if not the worst, place to live in London.

One of the streets was a short, middle-aged man. He was dressed in a short white T-shirt with a black sign on the Iron Maiden c.h.e.s.t and short gray tracksuits. Although he was just over 40, he was bald and his forehead was wrinkled - the result of his stressful work here. The man, though seemingly not dangerous, had a keen and cunning look.

His name was Barry Fisher and he was a drug dealer. He was a man well known in the nearby underworld, he even had his own small district, but ultimately he was only a rumor when it comes to the scale of his ventures. Which does not mean that he could not manage. He learned how to earn a lot and confidently. His goods always came on time and were of high quality, and he found a clever way to enforce debts. For example, if you hit a guy who is insolvent, but he has a lot of steam in his paws or looks threatening, he offered him a deal. He will cancel his debt and even pay a small salary, and the debtor will work for him in the form of an enforcer of debts up to payment. A few times there were those who thought they could buy and not pay, but Fisher quickly learned these delinquents that it would not pass. Based on these methods, he gained respect and reputation, which established his position.

However, it was not enough for him. He wanted to get out of this place and start his business in Brighton. He already had funds, place and contacts in place to live peacefully for a long time.

The vision of drinking drinks on the beach on a summer day like this made a smile on his face. After making sure that no one is following him, he turned left and reached the abandoned block. Although the building looked nasty it was, and exactly in the bas.e.m.e.nt of the block he had its own lab. He took great care to keep the lab secret - he created fake lab in case of theft. Apart from him, only a few of his people knew this place. They were security guards who were to watch everything in his absence.

Therefore, he was very surprised when he saw that no one was guarding the entrance.

"Where are these idiots?"

Fisher thought for a moment and remembered that Roy was supposed to be watching today. A powerful peasant, but he was taking drugs for power.

"If he has take a new portion, then I will cut his eggs and shove into this Scottish muzzle!" Fisher pulled out his teeth, then stepped quickly inside.

The room was completely dark. Just when he found a switch something hard hit him in the back of the head. Barry did not have time to react and fell unconscious.

When Fisher fell unconscious on the floor in the room, the light came on. There were two people in the bas.e.m.e.nt. One dressed in a uniform black overalls, a knee-length coat, black leather gloves, and a red decorated mask on his face. That was my champion, Edmund. The other was dressed in the usual long black jeans and a long black sleeve, a glove and a skull-shaped mask.

It was me.

"Okay, now bind him." Edmund said.

I nodded reluctantly and then took out a thick adhesive tape, which gagged his mouth and immobilized my arms and legs.

(Everything is nice, but with one hand it's a heck ... it's f.u.c.k.i.n.g hard.)

"Emm, Master, I have a question, exactly three questions."

"Ask."

"... Why did you take an order for an ordinary man? I thought the Hunters only hunt mages. "

"There are two reasons. Firstly, yes, we hunt for magicians, on whom we have orders from the Chapter, but they appear much less often than you think, and do not pay us a regular salary, only for the order. That is why we must usually earn our own money, even in this way. Secondly, did you think that in the first mission we will fight the mage? Did you heat up?? "

" OK I understand. The second question, why do I have to wear this mask? "

"It is not it obvious? that no one would recogni- ...

"No, I did not ask about it. I asked about why exactly this mask. This Halloween mask in addition looks like a shit, I can not see anything and I can not breathe in this."

"Well, to choose from in the store they had to choose this or a mask from the movie" ,,Scream''."

"And they did not even have a mask from the movie" V how Vendetta "or" -

"No, they did not. What about the third question?

"... I was to ask about it earlier, but why Master this kitsch cape?"

"What do you have to her?"

"Master did you not see the of the movie" The Incredibles "?"

"If I ever stand very close to the rocket or fly past the engine of the plane, then I will admit you are right. And this "kitschy" cape is made of a special material. When you pour into it, the mana becomes extremely hard. The bullet may not stop, but the knife will block easily. I satisfied your curiosity? "

I nodded.

"Great. Now be quiet, this guy wakes up. "

The man on the floor began to open his eyes. The moment he realized he was tied up and over him stood two masked people he immediately blanched. He tried to say something, but I did not understand.

Edmund took out a pistol and waved ostentatiously before the man who immediately fell silent.

"Now I will take the tape off your lips, and you will answer all your questions, consent?" Edmund asked.

The man nodded. Edmund ripped off the tape with a quick movement, which must have hurt a lot. The man m.o.a.n.e.d in pain. "

"Who are you?" He asked, bald.

"It's not important. The more important is, are you Barry Fisher? I advise you not to lie. "

The man thought for a moment, then nodded.

"Because you see, we got an order for your head, that's why you have to die," Edmund said flatly.

Fisher's eyes widened. He knew he had many enemies, but he did not think anyone would go to hire pro killers.

"W-wait a moment! Tell me how much they paid, I'll give it you, no, I'll triple, just do not kill me! "Barry begged desperately.

"Forgive me, but once I accept the contract with the exception of a few cases, I respect it completely and I do not change my mind."

In general, we were hired by the mother of a boy who bought Fisher's goods. At some point, he did not have to pay it back, so Fisher sent his bullys to beat him as a warning to the rest. Unfortunately they beat him so much that they damaged his spine by turning him into a vegetable. His mother was in despair and the police helpless, so she set a prize of two thousand pounds for Barry's head, which to my surprise the Master accepted. And so we found ourselves in the present moment.

The Master looked at Fisher for a moment, then turned to me.

"You will do it." He said, handing me a weapon.

I looked at him surprised.

"Why Master can not-"

"Because you have to do." Edmund put the gun in my hand and pushed it.

Barry Fisher, seeing what will happen, started shouting, begging, spitting and cursing at the same time. His tears mixed with his nose snot, making him look really miserable.

My hand was shaking uncontrollably. I remembered the scenes in front of the shop. That massacre. At that time I was extremely terrified and defenseless like a man before me. The difference was that he himself led to such a result

Edmund did not say anything but just watched.

That's when I remembered one thing I promised myself.

(That I will not be weak anymore.)

I bit my lip with all my strength so that blood flew and pulled the trigger.

BANG!

The man's head dropped, and blood began to trickle from the hole in his head.

My breathing was not regular and I head felt dizzy.

Edmund patted me on the back saying "good job". Then we left the building, we received the prize and returned to the estate.

I ran out of the car and rushed to the nearby bushes and vomited. I felt tragic.

Edmund, against expectations, did not laugh at the sight and began to explain to me.

"Death and killing are common in our work. I chose such a mission because you had to experience this feeling yourself. "

"Does the Master feel something like that when he kills people?"

"Yes, but after years I got used to it."

Edmund took me by the side and helped me back to the manor house.

I thought about what he said.

(He got used to it, but he did not say he did not complain.)
