Dragon Ball: New Life

KAMEHAMEHA!

The Super Saiyan Kakarot launched his attack into the Supernova thrown by King Cold. Kakarot's opponent was enraged to the point of rapidly generating the massive ball of energy. The Supernova was still moving forward despite the Kamehameha. Kakarot poured more power into his blue beam of energy to try to repel Cold's attack.

"You can turn to dust along with the planet!" Cold laughed.

KAIO-KEN TIMES TWO!

The blazing red aura of the Kaio-ken technique burned around Kakarot. The amplification of his power caused his Kamehameha to surge with energy. The Supernova was rapidly forced back towards King Cold. He held out his hands to try to stop the attack and force it back. His eyes widened in terror as the ball of destruction refused to be pushed back. If he didn't manage to roll away from the attack he would have been pushed into space.

Cooler's body mass increased as he charged his Ki further than before. His muscles doubled in size as his power exploded. Like his brother had demonstrated on Planet Namek, Cooler was now using one hundred percent of his form's power. Raditz was push back by the tremendous wave of Ki coming from Cooler's transformation.

"Well, if we are going to go all out." Raditz said, "Then I'll go wild too."

The Super Saiyan Raditz powered up, also increasing his body's muscle mass. Nappa and Vegeta momentarily stopped fighting when they felt the Ki coming from Cooler and Raditz. They knew by the way Raditz's Ki was surging that he was using the form he used to fight Frieza.

King Vegeta was greatly impressed by the strength his son and Nappa displayed in defeating the three commanders of the enemy troops. They had handle most of the soldiers by themselves. If someone had told him that Nappa would be as strong as himself, he would have had that person executed.

The Saiyans that stayed behind to fight against the soldiers gathered on the landing platform at the palace. The bodies of the soldiers were scattered through the area between the palace and the city. They were waiting for the end of the battle that would decide the fate of the Saiyans. They all could feel the shockwaves ripple through the palace. Even the Saiyans in the city could feel and hear the explosions from the battles.

Kakarot continued using Kaio-ken against King Cold, forcing the alien into dire straits. All illusions of his elegance had disappeared in front of the Super Saiyan Kakarot. He tried to look to his son for assistance, but Cooler was having problems of his own.

"His attacks are more focused than in the battle with my brother." Cooler thought to himself. He had created mental simulations of what he saw of the battle on Namek. He honed his skills training against the illusory Super Saiyan of a year ago. The alien was now finding a vast distance between what he imagined and reality.

Through months of meditative practice, Raditz was able to get a handle on the Great Ape rage that was constantly trying to force its way to the surface. He vanished and reappeared several times to avoid Cooler's death beams. After his last vanish, Raditz reappeared behind Cooler in an attempt to deliver an earth shattering strike to the back of the alien's skull.

Cooler seemed to anticipate this move, because he used his tail to strike Raditz's wrist deflecting the punch to the side. This opened the Saiyan to a combination of strikes from Cooler, each blow delivered with brutal efficiency. Raditz absorbed each of the attacks and countered with a headbutt to the face of the alien.

The headbutt knocked Cooler away from Raditz who was now feeling the weight of Cooler's attacks. They rendered him incapable of immediately following up after the headbutt. Instead he focused on using his Ki field to counter attack his enemy's next move. He lowered his arms to his sides and took a few deep breaths. Maintaining the field in the Super Saiyan state is extremely draining on his Ki, but in his Great Ape enhanced form, Ki drain is less of a problem.

Cooler had begun to feel the effects of using his full power for so long. The strain was starting to show, but his enemy seemed to be increasing in strength, even though he was also heavily fatigued. He knew if he didn't finish his foe quickly, he would lose the war of attrition.

"It seems I should have trained longer." Cooler thought. "Now I'm forced into this position."

Cooler understood he was now required to rush in an all or nothing attack before he was too weak to kill the Saiyan. He charged at the stationary Super Saiyan, who seemed to be trying to recover from the earlier attack.

"Time to die!" Cooler announced.

He extended his fist to strike the Saiyan while his guard was down. When Cooler's hand was less than an inch away form the Saiyan, Raditz deftly dodged to the side. The Saiyan countered with two rapid strikes of his own, followed up by a kick.

Like Raditz had done before, Cooler fought through the pain to attempt another another straight punch. Once again, the Super Saiyan dodged the attack, this time smashing Cooler's arm between his elbow and knee. The sound of snapping was clearly audible in the red skies above the palace.

"ARGH!" Cooler cried out in pain as he snatched his arm away.

He only paid attention to the broken limb for a moment before unleashing a barrage of strikes towards Raditz. Cooler realized that his attacks weren't hitting the Super Saiyan, but his fury drove him to attack on.

King Cold had reverted to his previous form and was kneeling, out of breath, on the palace landing platform. Super Saiyan Kakarot was standing by, ready to resume his attacks against his enemy. The fight had taken its toll on him. The Promethean armor he'd grown somewhat accustomed to was destroyed.

He was about to move in to finish off King Cold, when something crashed down on the platform. Kakarot and Cold looked over to see what the object was. When the smoke cleared, they could see that it was Cooler. He was also in his previous form, with a giant smoldering hole in his c.h.e.s.t.

All the Saiyans, gathered on the platform, were stunned to see the Cold family brought low before their eyes. This was followed up by their view of the green haired Super Saiyan descending from the sky. No matter what, this scene would be forever burned into their eyes.

"Perhaps my son and I were too hasty." King Cold said struggling to stand. "If you allow us to leave maybe we could appropriately compensate you."

Cold tried his best to bargain his way out of the situation he now faced. If he got Cooler to the proper medical facilities, it would be possible to save his life. Raditz boldly walked over to the incapacitated Cooler and grabbed him by the leg.

"There is nothing you can compensate me with, so no deal." Raditz said tossing Cooler into the sky.

"Wait, we can talk about this!" King Cold pleaded.

RIOT JAVELIN!

Raditz launched the attack into the airborne alien, causing him to explode on contact with the blast. The explosion nearly knocked every one of the weaker Saiyans on the platform off their feet. Bardock had never seen his attack have so much power behind it. He couldn't help but, with no small amount of pride, remember teaching his son the technique.

KAMEHAMEHA!

Kakarot fired the signature attack towards the defeated King Cold. The king tried to fight against the blast, but was ultimately disintegrated by the beam. Kakarot dropped to a knee and reverted back to his normal form. He was completely drained by his fight against King Cold. Raditz released his Great Ape power causing him to shrink back down closer to his normal size.

"Bardock, who are those guys?" a tall Saiyan with short spiky hair and ponytail asked. "I think I would have heard of Saiyans as strong as them before."

"And what's with the hair?" a female Saiyan with short cut hair asked.

"They're Super Saiyans." Bardock smirked.

"WHAT!" the pair shouted in unison.

"Like the legends!" Celipa shouted.

"Celipa, Toma calm down. I introduce you later." Bardock said and took off to meet his sons.

"Amazing, I can't believe you two are so powerful. Certainly not Kakarot."

"We'll talk later. I need to finish up my discussion with King Vegeta." Raditz walked away leaving Bardock to talk with Kakarot.

King Vegeta and his subordinates were near the entrance to the palace. During the battle the King had felt full of vigor from his participation in the battle. However, he was now in awe of the destructive power unleashed by the Super Saiyans. Now he could see Emperor Raditz approaching his group. The Saiyan was covered in battle damage but seemed unaffected. Seeing the power of Nappa and Vegeta first hand was one thing, but the King knew if Emperor Raditz wanted him dead, no amount of teamwork could stop him.

As Raditz drew closer his hair color reverted back to its normal black. When he as near the group, King Vegeta felt he had no choice but to kneel before Raditz. His entourage followed the lead of their king and knelt. They were shocked, but not too surprised to see their prideful ruler kneel before another Saiyan. In the past, many of them witnessed their King be forced to bow down before Frieza.

"So it seems you understand, Vegeta Sr." Raditz said.

The King knew from the how Raditz phrased his words that his reign was truly over. Now he could only regret the decisions he made that lead to this moment. Even if he was no longer king, he might be able to assist the new ruler.

"Emperor Raditz, as you know, I ruled Planet Vegeta, since before you were born. I could assist you in governing the planet." Vegeta Sr. offered.

"No." Raditz flatly refused the offer. "Your son will be taking custody of you, as you are officially exiled from this planet."

Vegeta watched his father beg Raditz to reverse his sentence of exile. He lost nearly all of the respect he held for his father. The former prince stored the scene in his heart of what not to become. Left with no choice, the former monarch eventually joined his son in the stolen Menagerie shuttle. The father and son pair took their time gazing at the planet from orbit before taking off.

"Where are we going?" Vegeta's father asked.

"Somewhere I can train, I will become a Super Saiyan. Kakarot being also becoming one proves that it is possible for other Saiyans to gained the ability." Vegeta answered.

"I was always told the last Super Saiyan died under his own power." Vegeta Sr said settling into a seat, "It seems that particular myth has been proven false."

The former King took comfort in the hope that one day his son would become a Super Saiyan. They may even be able to return to the planet to reclaim it for their family if his son gained enough strength.

Kakarot and Nappa followed Raditz into the throne room of the palace. The former king's entourage trailed behind the group. The advisors and butlers lined up as they usually would, although they were unsure of their futures. Everyone's gaze was on Raditz as he stood in front of the throne, facing them, with his hands behind his back. The had asked them to open broadcast his message to the Saiyans.

"I am Emperor Raditz, and from now on this world is mine." he began, "Make no mistake, this is the world of my birth, and I have have now saved it twice."

He recounted the tale of Frieza destroying the planet, his journey to Earth, and the founding of the Prometheus Empire. Explained about the fact that he became a Super Saiyan and defeated Frieza on Planet Namek, avenging them.

"Because the Saiyans have been give a new lease on life, Planet Vegeta will no longer be the name of our world. From now on our planet will be Planet Garden." he finished the address.

Bulma landing her shuttle on Planet Garden, later in the afternoon, with the first wave of engineers. She had worked to increase her physical strength to survive in ten times Earth gravity, for the day her husband realized his goal of the resurrection of his planet. Raditz had asked her to land near his Scouter location. The landing sight was near a group of primitive earthen homes.

Her husband led her into one of the clay homes not far from the street where the shuttle landed. Inside the house, she saw a Saiyan that looked like a grumpy version of Kakarot and a cute female Saiyan whose hair was in a similar style as Raditz's.

"Bulma, these are my parents, Bardock and Gine." Raditz introduced his wife to her in-laws.

"Mother, Father, I'm pleased to finally meet you." she bowed in greeting.

After a short conversation, Raditz invited the engineers into the home.

"I'm going to have my engineers remodel the entire city, starting with your house." Raditz informed them.

His parents were surprised to hear this news. In their opinion, their home was sufficient enough, as it offered great protection from the elements.
