Dragon Ga Kill

Chapter 39 - Corruption

[A/N: RA-Revolutionary Army]

Akame walks over to the Revolutionary Army soldiers who were tortured prisoners by the Desert Raiders, must of their bodies were in bad condition. In fact, some died after losing so much blood and being tortured so badly. Out of the 20 RA soldiers who were prisoners only 5 survived.

"No...This is horrible. What the f.u.c.k is wrong with the Empire!" Tatsumi gritted his teeth.

Akame kneels down in front of the five reaming RA soldiers, but all five of them are barely hanging on to their lives.

"We did our best not to tell them anything about your base location...Please tell...Najenda that...Tell her that the Revolutionary Army will never surrender to the Empire. Tell her that we will keep on fighting with everything we got! We will take down the Empire!" One of the RA soldiers says as he coughs out blood, Akame grabs his hands tightly to calm him down, "Your actions and bravery will not be forgotten. Rest assured the Empire will fall," Akame gives him a warrior glare of truth.

"Good...Good... We entrust our future onto you Night Raid..." He reaches his hands up towards the sapphire skies and then closes his eyes. The Night Raid members are silent, even Takashi.

There were now only two RA soldiers left. "Please I don't want to die! Someone save me! I have to see my family just one more time!" Tears stream down his eyes as he coughs out blood and his body trembles in agony and fear. The fear of death.

Akame nods her head she was going to save his life by taking him back to the base.

But Takashi already knew the man was suffering too much and that there was nothing Akame or anyone else in Night Raid can do.

RA Soldier: "Please help me!-" Takashi stabs him in the heart and ends his life quickly. Ryuyami's blade burned the man's heart and disintegrated it on impact. He died in a split second.

"Why did you do that!?" Akame stands up and angrily gritted her teeth.

"He wasn't going to make it. He was weak," Takashi sheathes Ryuyami and walks away, he didn't care about the Revolutionary Army or Night Raid's cause, he only cared about becoming more powerful and taking over this world. However, he knew that taking down the Empire was crucial to his plans, its the only reason why he was with Night Raid right now.

"Man you really are a heartless person," Leone said with sorrow in her eyes after seeing one her comrades be killed by Takashi.

Akame breathes heavily and holds back her anger, she knew that Takashi was right. But sometimes she wanted to believe in 'hope', she wanted to believe that she could save everyone who was her comrades and family. But in the grand scheme of things, that is all just false hope. This world is brutal and cruel, it has no mercy. Its either be killed or kill. Takashi knew this very well.

'I am tired of wasting my time with low-level targets,' Takashi snarled to himself, he wanted a 'real challenge'. A current of wind blows his raven black and silver hair to the side.

Akame looks at him, she couldn't tell if she admired or hated him. But one thing is for sure. She was 'interested in him'. She wanted to know about Takashi, yet she also thought he was too cold and cruel. However, she wanted to find out why Takashi was like this. Akame was the kind of person who wanted to understand others more, especially her comrades, if Najenda saw something special in Takashi and paired him with her, then Akame knew it was for a reason.

"Let's get going Takashi," Akame says without any emotions shown on her face as she the RA soldier Takashi killed lying on the forest floor with the Revolutionary Army flag at his c.h.e.s.t.

"I guess we have to bring the bodies back," Leone sighed. Even though Takashi had killed off most of the intruding Raiders, most of the Revolutionary Army prisoners were already too tortured to keep on living. Out of the 20 hostages, only 4 survived.

The Night Raid squad, Tatsumi and Takashi arrived back at the Night Raid Base. Bulat and Tatsumi carry the surviving RA soldiers on their backs. They place the RA soldiers in a resting area and close the door.

Takashi tells Najenda about the success of killing all 100 intruding Raiders with one single strike. No Raider was spared and none survived to tell the Empire the 'exact location' of the Night Raid base.

"You have done very Takashi and Night Raid, however, it does anger and saddens me that we lost some brave Revolutionary Army Soldiers who sacrificed their lives to kept our base hidden and who fought to protect the people of this world from the corruption of the Empire. I will remember them, now for your next important mission. This one requires only the best of my assassins," Najenda is not smoking at the moment, actually, she looks dead serious. She knew this mission would be vital to weaken the Empire and its army forces.

"It is actually a two-parter mission, I like the phase kill two bastards with one blade," Najenda says. She knew her puns were bad, but she said it anyway.

"Hurry up and just tell us the mission," Takashi said.

"Iokal, the Prime Ministers cousin must be swiftly killed, he is forming his own Teigu super soldier program and has his own Empire Training Temple were he raises and forms the strongest of warriors and killers. If we eliminated him from the equation then the Empire General would lose a large number of soldiers and the super soldier program will be destroyed. In order to do this, I need Mine, Akame, and someone else to join in the main mission, Bulat, Sheele, Lubbock, and Leone will be here for backup because they have other missions to attend to, so the position is only left to you Tatsumi and you Takashi, will you join Akame and Mine?" Najenda leans forward and clamps her palms together in a methodical thinking position.

"Of course I will! I get to finally get in the action!" Tatsumi says without wasting any time.

"Sheesh! I thought you said you needed the best assassins in Night Raid, not the dumbest and most amateur ones. Hmph!" Mine crosses her arms and tilts her head up in a snobbish way, she was disgusted at looking at how goofy and weak Tatsumi was.

"Screw you! I will prove to you that I can actually be a good assassin! Better than you! Small stuff! Halfpint!-" Tatsumi was going to insult Mine more, but she already put her sniper-rifle Teigu right close to Tatsumi's mouth.

"Any more words and you are dead! God I hate you so much!" Mine snarls revving up her Teigu. Bright whitish beam lights glowed around the barrel of her massive sniper-rifle.

"So are you coming?" Akame asked Takashi.

"I can reward you something better than just money Takashi," Najenda says while smoking.

"And what is that?" He asked.

"I know someone who can modify and create Teigu, maybe I can give the location of the Grand Teigu Blacksmith. Know as Master Blacksmith. Does that sound good?" Najenda said with a stern face.

"Yeah, but still give me a large sum of gold coin, add some silver to that as well, also after this mission is completed I will be leaving Night Raid," Takashi boldly said. Everyone was completely silent. They knew that this was the last thing Najenda wanted to hear.

It seemed that the day she feared would come. The day in which the Dark Dragon will finally roam free as a Rouge Assassin who does as he pleases. One in which had no rules or morals.

"Takashi please hear me out," Najenda stands up and swallows hard, she was going to give him an offer he can't refuse. Because she knew damn well her life and the Night Raid's life depended on it.

Akame is slightly worried, she didn't want Takashi to leave, she in some weird way wanted him to stay with her forever. She was starting to feel feelings and emotions she had never felt before until she met Takashi. Was it love? Or something else? All she knew was that she admired his power and strength, also his other godly 'features'. She tightly gripped her c.h.e.s.t.

"Tell me whatever you want, my mind won't change," Takashi leans against a marble pillar with one eye closed and the other open he was slightly mediating and cultivating his mind. He always cultivated, even when he wasn't fighting.

Najenda nods her head, everyone in Night Raid waits for her next word.

Tatsumi looks at Takashi with sorrow in his emerald eyes. High on the stairs, Sayo also listens.

'I won't follow Night Raid's destiny, I will follow my own destiny,' He thought to himself, as he starts to slightly remember the fate that entrapped everyone in this building and world. If only everyone here knew...What awaited them... Death was near.

So after this chapter everything will change, most targets won't put up a fight until General Budo and Esdeath appear, as well as when the Jagers are formed, so with that being said, let's pick up the pace.]
